The apartment would have been a nice place to stay had the owner had the right staff of housekeeping and maintenance but it was filthy. We had to wash the sheets before we could sleep in them. I have photos of long black hair on each bed, upstairs and down and footprints all over the downstairs mattress, there was grease along the inside of the microwave door, the table had stains all over it, the bathroom sink wouldn't drain and we had to plunge it, under the couch cushions were things that looked like a canister of some sort and a big plastic thing that looked like some kind of hockey mask which we left there and tons of crumbs, a huge hornets nest on the electrical wire above the door. They were flying around the outside lights when we got home and stung my friend on the head and wrist. He is still swollen and red even now. Thankfully he wasn't allergic. We had to drive to several stores at 10 pm to find wasp spray, I texted the owner who responded promptly, but who defended the entire situation by saying it was Maine woods and to expect a bee here and there, and defended the poor housekeeping and said that he has known them for 15 years and believes them plenty. I have all the exchange of texts and pictures to tell him just exactly what I thought of the mess and that photos do not lie. He asked me if I expected a 5 star hotel and I told him no but, neither did I expect a budget Super 8 Motel that is dirty. He refunded 109.00 for the lack of housekeeping. Bad experience
