The safety and well-being of our guests is of utmost importance, which is why it's important to understand that there were no active fires in our area before, during, or after your stay. When we shared the air quality report prior to your arrival, we were surprised to see that the air quality in South Fork, CO was better than the air quality in the area of Texas where you live. We're encouraged that the crisp, clean mountain air might be a reprieve for your son's asthma, given what he endures regularly at home. We do want to address the air conditioning concern directly. The unit experienced an unexpected failure during your stay, and our team resolved it within two hours of being notified, in line with our standard for timely response. It's worth noting that this home is one of the few properties in the area equipped with air conditioning at all. Less than 3% of homes in South Fork, which sits at an elevation of 8,200 feet, have AC, since average summer daytime temperatures hover around 72 degrees F and cooling systems aren't the norm here. We understand a temporary outage can still be frustrating, and we're glad it was resolved quickly. We take all guest concerns seriously and always aim to make things right when something falls short. That said, we want to be transparent: this review follows a cancellation request prior to arrival due to a change in the traveling party, which fell outside our refund policy. We understand that was disappointing, which is why we recommend travel insurance for situations involving changes to travel plans, as it's designed to protect against the unexpected. We stand behind this property, our team's quick response to the AC issue, and the accuracy of the information shared throughout this stay. We wish you and your family all the best.
