Welcome to The Surf Chalet, an oceanfront home perched on a bluff with hot tub overlooking the Salish Sea. Escape from the daily grind and take in all the west coast has to offer. Spend your days enjoying local world class surf and your evenings recharging in this newly renovated space located on over an acre of treed oceanfront property.
Newly renovated home with full kitchen, large dining room table, and open-concept main floor living space.
In each bedroom you’ll find a king bed and an additional sleeping space all with luxury linens. Two rooms have futons while the third has a unique custom bunk bed.
The large, west-facing, wrap-around deck is the perfect spot for a morning coffee overlooking the ocean or a post-surf soak in the 8-person hot tub.
The large yard is great for a game of bocce or lawn game of choice. You’ll also find a propane fire-pit and sitting area with second barbecue off of the kitchen on the sheltered side of the house for those more blustery days.
Should you feel like going on a mission without leaving the property, take a stroll through our trail to the oceanside hut on the bluff; perfect for a picnic or cozying up with a book.
The entire home is open to guests other than a few locked closets and a storage room downstairs.
The Surf Chalet is located in a quiet, rural seaside neighbourhood with large lots and trees throughout, making it a private oasis.
*Note: we have wonderful neighboursand ask that you be mindful and respectful.
A few noteworthy spots:
- Numerous spots for surf including Jordan River (a 10 min drive) where you’ll also find The Cold Shoulder Cafe
- Flea Beach is a 3 min walk from the house, perfect for a stroll with your morning coffee
- French Beach is a 5 min walk on the other side and also has a great day use area and park for kids at the far end (approx 15-20 min walk)
- Historic Sheringham Lighthouse is just up our road, about a 20 minute walk
- Shirley Delicious cafe is a must and only a 5 min drive
- Stoked Pizzeria serves up delicious woodfired pizza and only a 3 min drive
Having a vehicle is ideal for getting to the property as it is quite rural and you may want to explore the many sites along this stretch of coast. However, once you are here, there are a number of things to do and see all within walking distance of the property including two beautiful beaches and the Sheringham Lighthouse. There is a long driveway with a couple of pullouts, allowing for at least 6 vehicles to easily park on-site.
Only Rogers/Fido customers have cell service out this way so you’ll need to have screenshots of the map or directions saved prior to leaving Sooke. Also note the check-in instructions so you are able to access the house.
