We were disappointed that your vacation was impacted by the unexpected repairs due to a major water leak, as we truly want every guest to have a wonderful stay. Prior to your arrival, the property manager personally contacted you to explain the situation and let you know that repairs from a recent water leak had not been completed as we had hoped. While the temporary flooring and removal of the damaged bar area were certainly not ideal from an appearance standpoint, the home had been inspected and was considered safe and fully functional for occupancy. Because every home in our program was fully booked during your travel dates, we were unable to offer an alternate property, and we did not want you to lose your family vacation. Throughout your stay, we remained in communication with members of your party by phone to discuss your concerns and work toward a resolution. While we understand no amount of compensation could completely make up for the inconvenience, we provided a refund that exceeded one night's rental rate in an effort to acknowledge the disruption to your vacation. Because compensation is based on the rental portion of the reservation rather than taxes and fees, the refunded amount may not appear to equal a full night's total reservation cost. We also wanted to clarify for future guests that the home's microwave remained available during your stay. It has always been located in the pantry, and we're sorry if its location was not apparent. The good news is that all of the repairs have now been completed, and the home has been fully restored.
