Audrey & Howard are, hands down, the bests hosts I’ve ever had. They are super responsive and incredibly generous. The place was spotless and very well stocked, including an abundance of extra soap, shampoo and toothpaste. I’ve stayed at several properties in this Hawk resort and this house is very family friendly and lives up to all expectations. Perfect size for my family. Would definitely return.

Fabulous stay for Christmas and skiing

Loved our stay. House is so comfortable and well appointed. Amazing views too! We enjoyed time together with family for the holidays as well as exploring Woodstock and skiing at killington. The whole family agreed that this house was worth the drive from the ski resort!

Family foundation meeting

Some challenges when we arrived because cleaning lady had been misinformed about day of our arrival. Owner was easily contacted and acted immediately to fix the problem. Then the house was clean, well-equipped kitchen, great view of mountains and the full moon from upper balcony.Fully air conditioned , washer & dryer available at the house.

The house was wonderful and so cozy! Very well kept. great fireplace, lots of space for the family, very well stocked for family meals. we really enjoy this location for skiiing at okemo and will definitely stay here again if we can!

Wonderful Vermont Vacation

We couldn't have chosen a better spot for our short vacation with our adult children. We hiked and kayaker, and never had to venture very far from Audrey and Howard's beautiful and spacious home. The kitchen was very well equipped, and we enjoyed our evenings there cooking in and playing games. Howard is a great communicator, and everything was super smooth.

Awesome View and Close to Okemo

It was a neat "upside down" house built on the hillside of a mountain with an awesome view. It feels like you're in a tree house. Great fireplace and comfortable house with everything that you need for your stay. Easy communication with the owner.

Absolutely fabulous stay

The house was stunning from the entrance on. The living room you enter with it's gorgeous fireplace brings on the oohs and ahhs. For once there were plenty of bathrooms! Decorated for fun, functionality and style it was the perfect getaway cabin and the views from the balconies (2) take your breath away. Wonderful communication with the host and plenty to do for active types and just relaxing around the home. Stay and enjoy this perfect getaway!

Clean, comforting, and communication!

Our experience started weeks prior to arriving. The communication from the owners was some of the best I have experienced. It only continued throughout and even after our stay. The house itself was perfect for my family and was in a great location. There were plenty of games, puzzles, and toys (Lincoln logs) that kept the kids busy. We look forward to staying here again.

Beautiful Vermont Chalet: Best Experience Ever!

This was by far the best VRBO/Owner experience yet. The owners were so accommodating in so many ways. We will be back. Here are a few highlights: Best equipped kitchen of any VRBO rental yet: Very clean Chalet and linens: Great attention to detail, tee lights on the mantle, in bathrooms, etc: Having a 1 year old grandson, the Chalet was child proof! 15 minutes from Okemo and Killington a must for skiers. Beautiful view of Echo Lake, I can go on and on but it is your turn to enjoy this hidden gem.

Lovely place to make dinner

Gas grill on deck and well stocked kitchen to cook in. The owner was very responsive when we had a problem with the hot water. It turns out they just had it serviced and the repairmen just forgot to turn a valve back on. Easy fix.

We really found a home away from home!

Audrey and Howard have created the perfect getaway house. It’s so comfortable, warm and inviting! We stayed there from December 26,2018 through January 1, 2019. It was so nice to get away from all the Christmas rush and just relax. We brought our adult children with us and a stack of games and proceeded to have a fantastic time spending wonderful evenings by that beautiful fireplace and of course enjoying the view during the day. After a few days it was hard to remember that this was not our house – as funny as that seems. We did have several days of rain but we didn’t care. It’s just a wonderful place to spend time with your family and create memories that will last a lifetime. We really found a home away from home and hope we can come back again next year! Thank you again Audrey and Howard. Cannot recommend your home enough!

Great place in a great location

We had a lot of fun staying here over winter break (President's week). We went skiing at the local ski areas (Killington and Okemo) and enjoyed the sledding hill and pool at the resort. The house was well stocked with games, movies, kitchenware, and bathroom items. Beds were comfortable and the upstairs living area was fun to hang out in. The house overlooks the river and mountains and has great views. If I had to list some cons I would say that it is pretty hard to get up the steep road to the house without 4-wheel drive. Of course, if you want views, then you have to climb the mountain! The stairs in the house are steep as well, so we tried hard not to make too many trips back and forth between floors. Finally, the last con is that right now Hawk Inn is closed and the restaurant is only open sporadically. If that opens back up, then that would be nice. Still, these are minor cons compared to the pros of a beautiful house in a great location with all the amenities you could want!

The property needs maintained. Floors are all scuffed up (need refinished), dust hanging from ceiling fan and ceiling, dust on window ledges at fireplace. Accumulating odd pieces of furniture, some broken (desk chair). Ovens and toaster oven need cleaned. Recliner doesn't go down. Accumulation of used candles on mantle. No hand rails at commodes or tubs. Laundry room has stacks of bedding to be put away. When paying these rates a night I expect same perfection I would get at a hotel, where I can ask for refund or a different room. We've rented 4 VRBO homes this year, this was a disappointment. Location was great.

Fantastic Property and Hosts!!

Audrey and Howard were perfect hosts and their home was amazing! The cleaning crew was just finishing up when we arrived and the house was clean and ready for our week long stay. A pre-arrival email from Audrey gave us all required info and we were greeted with a nice note with additional information, some suggestions for sightseeing and dining options, some local snacks and a nice bottle of wine. The kitchen was well stocked and had a well stocked pantry with a great selection of spices as well as all the needed appliances including a nice gas Weber grill, cookware, dishes and glassware you would ever need. The living room was very comfortable with 2 large sofas and 2 large chairs. The high speed internet was great as was the large HDTV. There were lots of books and games to enjoy and a spacious dining table and chairs for our group. The outside decks were all very welcoming and we particularly enjoyed sitting on the comfortable patio chairs for evening cocktails and morning coffee while taking in the marvelous vistas. Our favorite pastime was relaxing around a roaring fire in the massive stone fireplace in the evening that was supplied with plenty of super dry firewood!! The bedrooms and ensuite bathes were all very comfortable and each had a nice deck with a large sliding glass door. Howard checked in by text several times to ensure all was going well and answer and questions we might have. All in all, we had a marvelous stay and look forward to returning in the future!!

Feels like Home away from Home

This beautiful chalet nestled on Hawk Mountain with views of Lake Amherst feels like we are home. This was the third time. The Host are so accommodating by answering questions, supporting with some needs for our grandchildren and suggestions of places to visit. By far the best stock kitchen of all the VRBO rental I have used. If you are looking for quality time with family or take on Okemo or Killington, I highly recommend this home. We will definitely rent again in 2023.

Wonderful mountain retreat

This three-story mountain home is a wonderful place for a family to have a retreat in any season we were visiting in the summer and the views were terrific The breezes through the house delicious and we just had a wonderful time The one caution is there are many many steep stairs and if there's any mobility restrictions for people this would be a difficult house but otherwise it was wonderful
