The house was great and in a convenient location. It looks like it was renovated recently and they addressed the flooring and patio door issues mention in previous reviews. We were very happy with the house and its cleanliness. It was convenient to the Fazio golf course where we enjoyed golfing and close enough to the beach to walk if you weren’t carry anything. It would be a bit of a haul if carrying beach chairs, umbrellas, etc so we found a place to park inside the resort during the day. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay at this location again.

The property was clean, and the reservation process from initial reservation to check in to check out was very satisfactory. A little dissatisfied with the condition because of the doors leading to the outside back patio. The patio is wonderful but the doors are VERY difficult to slide open and only the strongest of our party were able to open and close. We requested it be fixed, but it is still in the same conditon.

Kitchen was well stocked, but could use more drinking glasses. Electrical outlets wouldn’t keep plugs in. Rooms were great size. Fans in upstairs bedrooms were scary at higher speeds. Property is located very convenient to beach, general store.

Great location but.......

Reviewer Comments: WE love palmetto Dunes, the outfitters for bikes, the Dunes House, beach access, etc. However, unit 27 had issues. the flooring is warped and is a trip hazard. The shower drains are slow so your standing in dirty water. the sliding door to the back is very difficult to slide open and the handle is clearly not repaired properly and the sofa bed had issues. In terms of cleanliness - needs help and a complaint was made. the bathrooms and bedrooms were clean, however, the kitchen backsplash was greasy with dust on it, housekeeping left the sliding door open and there were dead palmetto bugs in every area downstairs. There were Doritos under the couch, a pacifier and large crumbs under the coffee table, the floors were filthy. I've rented on property before through VRBO and the villas were much cleaner. This was through palmetto dunes and it was gross - we made the best of it as the location is great. By the way, I'm still waiting for the property manager to call me back.

Won't choose this rental again

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in 27 Fazio villas for 7 days and had a great vacation. However, I would not be quick to return to palmetto dunes and would not recommend the unit we stayed in to anyone. We loved the location and adventured all around the island including coligny and shelter cove and sea pines. The location of the resort was great. The unit was clean and looked nice but the beauty was only skin deep. I think the owners bought the cheapest of everything including the bed I slept in. It was downright awful and uncomfortable. The floor was sticking up in several spots throughout the house and none of the doors closed right. The back slider to the patio took Herculean force to open like it hasn't been oiled in years. The unit was not well equipped or stocked. For goodness sake, there wasn't even a cutting board or cookie sheet in the kitchen. Unlike other rentals I've stayed in, there are no beach chairs or sand toys provided and not a single board game or even a deck of cards. The worst issue though was a smell in the downstairs restroom that we could not locate. We searched all the drawers and the cabinet and never found the continuous source of the smell of death. We were provided a single roll of paper towels, 2 trash bags and a tiny bottle of dish soap for a family of 7 for 7 days! When I called and requested some additional trash bags and Clorox wipes or something to tidy up I received a message stating that if we wanted trash bags we could come to the front desk and get them. Ok. There's no maintenance or housekeeping to bring them over? And, they wouldn't give us any cleaning supplies. What?! Do people not wipe down their kitchen counters or clean up during their stay? We purchased trash bags and wipes ourselves. Althoufh the house left something to be desired the resort was great including the location, the general store, the pickle ball courts and outfitters.

Layout and location good. Many signs of deferred maintenance throughout. Flooring particularly bad. Write up indicated new hardwood floors, but definitely not the case. Also claimed an updated kitchen - also not the case. Though we will stay at Fazio Villas in the future, we will not rent this unit.

It was ok

Good afternoon, I had contacted the resort itself to let them know that we were supposed to have a washer and dryer in the unit, and the washer was not working properly. I visited the front desk to let them know and a maintenance guy came out, and said he was unable to fix it and they’d have to contact someone to come out and look at it because he was unable to fix it. I know this is a minor issue but we booked this hoping there would be laundry so we were able to wash some of our stuff. Also, the grill was very dirty and not very clean. I wasn’t sure what you could do but wanted to see what my options were.
