The cottage was cute and clean -- and a great size for a small family, couple, friends etc. The patios on the front and back also help to nicely extend the space. The owner was very engaged and attentive in ensuring your needs were met.

My family and I enjoyed our 1 week stay in Mashpee. The property is an adorable cottage, located very close to the ocean (a short walk from the front of the property to the ocean)! There are great running paths and there is a nearby country club for golf as well as a gathering area offering restaurants, shopping, put-put and (in the evenings) music. The property is 30min from Woods Hole- perfect for a ferry ride to Martha's Vineyard. However, you don't have to go that far to enjoy the ocean breeze and cute, nearby restaurants.

This is a cute little cottage in a nice subdivision, with access to a private though small beach. Maushop Village was a little “country clubby” for our taste, but the amenities were nice. The cottage itself is cosy but comfortably furnished. The kitchen is very small (really only one person at a time) and missing a lot of key equipment, which was disappointing. And there’s no air conditioning, although many fans. It would be tight for 4 people - fine for 2.

Hi Polly, I am very surprised you gave me a 1 star review. During your stay, you constantly messaged me. During this time, I did not hear a single complaint from you. No guest has bombarded me with constant messages the way you did. Not sure what equipment is missing - once again very vague. The latch on the first floor bathroom door broke off during your stay so I don’t think you are the ideal guest to stay at my property again. Also, I have 2 full bedrooms and pull out sofa bed and up to 6 guests have very comfortably stayed at my unit in the past. Sorry it did not meet your very high and unrealistic expectations.

The property is infested with mold. It’s on the light fixtures, the ceiling lamps, the blinds, the shower curtains. The host is aware and acknowledged that the bag of moldy water hanging in the closet was formerly “Damp Rid”. We had to leave the property early out of concerns for our safety. In addition to the mold, the property is extremely outdated and dirty — stains on the linens and rugs, old and damp furniture. The host is refusing to refund my money making up false accusations to avoid responsibility. We moved to another property within New Seabury and had a wonderful stay! My family has been in Maushop for 60 years. I know the areas and the accommodations well. I could not believe the condition of this unit.

This renter was the most difficult renter I have ever encountered. She accused my property of having mold but then stayed one out of 2 nights. I have had a full summer rental season this summer with no complaints about mold. My housekeeper has been cleaning my unit along with other units in Maushop for years and I trust her. When I told her that air condition on the Cape are naturally damp due to its proximity to the ocean, she told me that 4 or 5 generations of her family have been in New Seabury and that she knows Cape air well. I am not sure what her privilege and entitlement have anything to do with the damp air on the Cape that most people know exists. She also booked my property for 2 adult guests but then mentioned kids. When I asked her about the kids, she did not respond back to me. The following morning after she spent the night, I asked if she was still there. She spent 3 more hours on her last day before checking out of my property and demanded a full refund. I went over the photos with VRBO and they agreed with me that she was not entitled to refund based on the photos. She was looking to stay for free and you cannot spend the night from a 2 night booking and expect to get a full refund.

We really wanted to like this place. We knew there was no A/C, so that isn’t our complaint. What we did not expect was how persistently damp and musty the cottage was. Bedding, towels and clothes often felt moist, and we repeatedly washed and dried things just to make them usable.The cottage also had numerous maintenance problems: clogged drains, a broken bathroom latch, a broken utensil drawer we fixed ourselves, lighting problems, missing or broken kitchen items, and water coming through a bedroom window when the sprinklers came on. None of these alone would have ruined a vacation, but together they added up to a property that was clearly poorly maintained.The biggest disruption was the refrigerator/freezer failing midway through our stay. We lost hundreds of dollars’ worth of groceries and went nearly 3 days without a properly installed refrigerator while technicians and delivery teams came and went.Communication with the host became increasingly hostile and adversarial. We initially adjusted our plans for repairs, but stopped rearranging our vacation as problems continued. After we left, we were charged for the refrigerator failure, which the host alleged we caused. We disputed it, provided documentation supporting our position, and the amount was subsequently credited back.We spent a lot of money on a 2-week vacation and came away extremely disappointed and frustrated.We would not stay here again and would strongly caution others considering staying here.

Hi Laura, My refrigerator broke during your stay. You wanted money for all the “food spoilage” and when I asked you to send me photos, you told me you were “too tired”. You broke my fridge, I charged you a damage deposit fee. And you are angry about that. You stayed for 2 weeks and thanked me several times for fixing a latch and unclogging the bathroom drain for you. You never mentioned during your 2 week stay about musty odors, uncleanliness until I told you I was not going to reimburse you unless I saw photos of the so called “food loss” you claimed but could not send photos of. You were clearly upset about this and the damage deposit fee I charged you. So you decided to write a misleading review about my property on issues you never mentioned to me during your stay. Anyone reading this review please know it is inaccurate and renter broke my fridge and refuses to take accountability for it.

We had 3 adults in this cute cottage. It was big enough for us. The bedroom layout was nice separating the 2 rooms. We loved being able to walk to see the ocean. The check-in and check-out process was very easy. Nice heads up on the parking spot for 38.

Relaxing getaway!

The house is situated in a quiet little corner of Maushop Village, making it very relaxing. The private beach was just a few minutes away, with beautiful views. Popponessett Marketplace was great nearby asset as well.

The keyword here is LOCATION. This cottage is perfectly located. Right on the beach. Walking distance to an adorable market with restaurants, entertainment, shops and ice cream. It's also perfectly situated to hit a ferry to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. It's a couple minutes drive to a fantastic new walkable shopping place with excellent restaurants. Cottage itself is very nice. Bedrooms and bathrooms were fine, kitchen was well stocked. Check out was a cinch. Perfect place for our family of 4.

Perfect location to enjoy golf, dinner with friends at the Inn and a comfortable place to spend time. Zara was very responsive, polite and friendly for our last minute rental. She went out of her way to make everything work. Thanks

Quaint Seaside Cottage

First things first the owner Zara, is wonderful to deal with and full of great information. I had very limited questions but she got back to me immediately and easy to work with and set the tone for a wonderful stay. The description of the cottage is spot on and the pictures are accurate. The cottage was very clean and although small very comfortable for my family of 5 (2 parents/3 adult daughters). My favorite part is the proximity to the beach and the marketplace. Both within a few minute walk and just a very peaceful location. If you are looking for a true beach Cape Cod experience, Maushop Village is a perfect location.

Another Perfect Week at Maushop Village

This was the sixth different property we've stayed at in Maushop Village and is one of our favorites... it was clean, neat and very well maintained with comfortable furnishings and great amenities. Our daughters enjoyed the queen-sized bunk beds, and we enjoyed the upstairs master suite. Having two flatscreen TVs was a nice plus. The shaded front patio was perfect for morning coffee and evening dinner. Zara was a great host... texting us upon arrival and calling us two days ahead of time to make arrangements for a maintenance worker to address an issue reported by a previous tenant. All in all a great stay and a property we will consider on our future visits.

Great Stay in Cape Cod

We had a great time at Zara’s cottage. The unit was clean and well stocked. Space is small but perfectly suitable for our family with two nice patios front and back. Extremely close to the beach and marketplace. Very convenient with small kids to be able to walk everywhere. Only small issues would be better fans since there is no A/C and the upstairs got very hot during our stay and darker shades would have been nice as the upstairs room has a skylight. There are nice cordless shades in all rooms but they did not block out too much light. These are minor issues though and we had a great week overall. Thanks!

My husband and I live in Providence, RI with our two daughters ages 21 and 16 years. We fell in love with Maushop Village when we visited friends and so when an opportunity came up to buy this condo, we renovated it with all the love in our hearts. We love to travel all over the world but have truly enjoyed the relaxing and soothing atmosphere of Maushop Village the most as it offers everything we were looking for in a vacation property.

We have vacationed on the Cape numerous times and in numerous places like Provincetown, Chatham, Truro. When it was time to buy a second home, Maushop Village had everything we were looking for - walk to a private beach, walk to the Marketplace where we could cool off with ice cream, pizza, a lobster roll and stroll through the quaint shops (the antique furniture store is my favorite) and then stroll right back to the beach. This place just feels magical.

I love the fact that my girls who are 21 and 16 years old can walk everywhere. The safe and family oriented atmosphere puts my mind to ease as they walk everywhere. They go to the beach and then walk together to the Marketplace and then walk back to the condo. In the evenings, we attend concerts in Poppanesset Marketplace or go to Mashpee Commons (less than 10 minute drive) where you can find an assortment of fine restaurants, stores, movie theater, coffee shops, bookstore and so much more. Some stores include Vineyard Vines, Williams Sonoma, The Black Dog, Francesca's, Fine Candy Shops just to name a few!
