The place was an absolute steal & the location was great! The host was incredibly hospitable and covered all the basis for the arrival. Downtown Louisville will have it's cons but nothing to do with the property. I will definitely come back to this spot if the opportunity presents itself.

The host, Matt, communicated well up to our stay. Unfortunately, the key fob to access the property was not present at check-in and our we had to find a new place to stay for our visit. Matt was nice but had no other options for us. I highly suggest confirming the check-in process prior to booking.

The entrance was in the back. Took an hour and a half to receive a text to enter the building. Weird strange man upfront. Pretty scary looking dude. Would like all my money back. Run! Do not stay here.

I think there is a lot of potential for the places at The Henry Clay. It's exciting to see new life brought to historic buildings and I love that for this Louisville gem. The kitchen and bathrooms were great. There could be a little more in the way of kitchenware for anyone looking for longer stays than we had. The water pressure and drainage were great. The polished concrete floors are "in" and while I am a fan of that whole industrial look, more rugs are needed. Getting out of bed onto a concrete floor is not a joy and the same if you're standing at the kitchen sink. Also, it would be good to ask the cleaners to wipe down the top of the headboard, which is pretty heavy with dust. I know old buildings get dusty and cob-webby quickly, but this seems like it's been accumulating for a bit. The one real turn-off was the couch and chair in the living area. We wouldn't even sit on them. The chair seems old and very worn and not clean. The sofa has stains all over it and gross. I don't think it would be a huge cost to get something inexpensive and new for that space and be much more welcoming. Also maybe somehow make it clearer in the booking/check-in instructions to look for the very detailed instructions with pictures that will be sent through the other app (sorry, I forget what it's called). While I figured it all out with some onsite sleuthing and the help of another VRBO client, it was kind of like a scavenger hunt. Good investment though, in the city! Keep going!

This apartment is in a nice location for doing things in Louisville.I would stay there again. It was overall clean and sufficient. There was a chair in the living room that was nasty, but I believe the host plans to have this replaced.Check in was several steps, but the host gave great instructions with pictures.(I did a screen shot of each step to refer back easily). The kitchen could use a few items, if you plan to do any meals there, but overall sufficient. The building is real cool. There was an outside patio off the 4th floor. It seems there is some restoration going on in various areas (but did not affect our stay) so hopefully it will continue to thrive and become even better.I did pay for the parking, which made it nice to have a spot. The key fob is required to access the elevator (like in some hotels), so keep track of it!!
