Exquisite place

Excellent location close to everything - food, shopping, hikes in metropolitan park. The panoramic views are awe inspiring and the place is well appointed especially for remote work. A stocked kitchen, office and furniture to help you relax. Completely enjoyed the stay and would love to be here again.

Great location

Enjoyed the stay with magnificent views. I would say the only drawback was spotty wi-fi, outside the master bedroom and some noise in the mornings as people all begin their day and are out in the streets. Very nice apartment in a good location near everything.

Great place in Quito

The apartment is amazing, great location for a base to this part of Ecuador. The apartment has everything you need for a week or a month. Santiago was great, answerd all my questions right away, and made sure we were well informed about the area restaurants and shopping.. Looking forward to going back next year for a week or two.

Amazing views and gorgeous apartment!

We truly enjoyed this apartment in Quito! Everyone was so helpful and easy to work with. I gave a 4 Star rating because we arranged pick up at the airport and they forgot (not a big deal because taxis are easy in Quito) and we felt cheated on our security deposit. Specifically, I felt that because we acknowledged that we broke an item in the apartment we were subject to replacing items that were not broken or stolen by us. I would stay here again, but I encourage you to be diligent. I guess we should take this as a good thing because the owner and property manager take EXTREME care of the property. You won't be disappointed. On a different note, Quito is a very awesome city and choosing where to stay in the city can be difficult your first time. Just stay here. You can easily get everywhere you need (grocery, restaurants, museums, and bars).

Nice hub for exploring Quito

This is a very spacious, well-appointed and well-decorated apartment in a busy section of Quito, which is walkable to restaurants and parks and a short drive to neighborhoods such as Centro Historico and La Floresta. I especially enjoyed the many windows in the apartment, offering panoramic views of the city, and the kitchen was very well equipped, providing everything I needed to prepare meals. I chose this apartment in large part for its home office, as I needed a place to work, and I was pleased with the desk and work area. The wi-fi is not as fast as in the US, and I had several dropped calls on my cell-phone (using both the wi-fi and the local cellular signal), but I was able to get most of my work done without issue. Santiago was very responsive with answers to my questions. The guards at the entry were also very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

AMAZING stay in Quito

There is just no other place to stay in Quito honestly. This is a huge, beautiful, immaculate apartment with every single amenity you could ever need, and many that are just bonuses. The beds are large and comfortable, everything works perfectly including the large desktop Apple computer on which I sent an important report to my office in the US. We were given two huge bottles of drinking water for our stay as we are foreign travelers and cannot drink the water from the tap. The large rain shower in the master is heavenly with unlimited hot water and is bested only by the the huge jetted tub that is amazing and has a heated towel rack next to it. All of the lights and blinds are controlled by remote and many are automatic to save power, but also to keep you from fumbling about when going to the kitchen at night. The views in the common area are just amazing and give about a 300 panoramic view of the hills and the city. The apartment is close to everything. We walked to restaurants, stores and bars and sites were only short cab rides away. The building is very safe with a 24 hour friendly guard whom I helped study for what appeared to be an English exam for which he was preparing. The pickup at the airport was swift and efficient and contact between myself and the owner before, during and after the stay was perfect. Stop shopping and book this property. The price cannot be beaten for such a wonderful location.

Great apartment in convenient location

The apartment was equipped with everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay. The views of Quito and surrounding mountains were spectacular. The location was great for walking to Carolina Park, MegaMaxi, and numerous restaurants and shops. The managers were nice, and quick to respond to any questions we had about our rental. We would definitely stay here again if we needed to stay in Quito.

Perfect Quito

This VRBO was perfect for our stay. This beautiful condominium was modern, very clean, safe, and located near great restaurants. Because we had phone problems we were unable to communicate with the management the week before we checked in as was expected. The staff still had everything ready and accommodated our late night arrival. We highly recommend.

Well worth the price.

Don't let the price deter you. This is a great property.....1700 square feet of wonderful art and high-tech fixtures with great views and a great location. We had some frustrating issues but they are all correctable. We were there for a wedding and needed to be in touch with locals. We were told we'd be given a cell phone but were not. The landline in the house is blocked from calling cell phones but we didn't know that and we didn't even know the number of the landline. There is not a scrap of information in the apartment to help guests with anything they might want to know. The local manager is some distance away and couldn't be called from the landline. The landline is in the master bedroom as is the WiFi router. WiFi didn't work in the living room nor would the wireless handset of the landline. Both could be easily corrected with an inexpensive router booster and an extension telephone set. We were also frustrated with an extra step they added to the damage deposit process. In making the reservation our credit card was charged with a standard refundable damage deposit as well as an additional charge for a hefty damage insurance policy. Then we had to to give Diego (who did an excellent job with our airport transfer) a significant cash deposit for additional damage protection when we arrived. This is overkill. It also created a logistics problem because we couldn't leave until the apartment was inspected so we could get our cash deposit back. A local friend was taking us to the airport but we couldn't leave until we had completed the rendezvous for the refund. If the owner wants additional damage protection he should put it on the listing and have it paid by credit card at the time of booking. If the owner corrects these simple things, I'd highly recommend this property. The price looks high compared to the many bargains available in Quito, but it's well worth it.

Mr. Howard and Barbara! Sorry for the mistakes that you encounter at our apartment. We did everything in our end to help our costumers. I have personally been there and my I phone and the phone of other costumers work just fine with the router that is right now. Sorry you did not know how to operate your cell phone or the blue tooth of your cell phone does not work properly. Yes landline is blocked for international calls or cellphone calls, in Ecuador a call from a landline to a cellphone gets charged for the minute and after several phone calls can be expensive for me to assume extra charges that the client will not pay. Ecuador is not USA where phone calls are free or has a contract. Ecuador has a different system. This a luxury that we have for our clients to make their stay more pleasant. A regular hotel in the USA or other part of the countries will charge you for phone calls. Again I'm sorry you had a bad time in our apartment. Reading the instructions and information that i send you will had eliminated lost of headaches and disappointments. The Key deposit is cleared stated in one of the flyers that I sent you. Thanks again.

Great stay!

The apartment was gorgeous, inviting, and warm. And, as needed to ensure a great vacation, the beds were comfy! It really did feel like our home away. Plus, the 24/7 guard service and the key security measures made us feel safe. Any time we needed a cab, we just stepped outside and could flag one down within minutes every time. I would absolutely recommend this place!

Spectacular Views, Modern Apartment, Felt Like Home!

Beautiful Apartment with Nice View

*Plus: - Nice view of Quito & mountains - Spacious layout with many interesting art decorations - WiFi is included - Only around 6-8 minutes taxi ride to Megamaxi supermarket & Quicentro shopping mall - Restaurants nearby within walking distance - A local cellphone is provided which connects you with the manager, but only to receive phone call (can't make phone call) *Minus: - Noise level; located at the corner between two 2 busy main roads (not suitable for light sleeper) - WiFi only works in 2 bedrooms (no WiFi access in living room and kitchen) - The master bedroom is exposed to intense sunlight in the morning, starting as early as 7 am (not suitable for light sleeper)

Thank you very much for your review. Your review help us to become the best in the market!!! Unfortunately Quito is the capital of Ecuador and the entire city is one big noisy city. There are not regulations of the Ecuadorian goverment on how to control the noise in residential areas or traffic noise pollution. Sorry for the inconvenience of the wifi and cell phone! These issues have been fixed and they are running properly. Again these features are out of my control when the service is provided for an outside company. "Cable-Wifi-Phone" Ecuador still have long ways to go but they are doing the best to provide services to us the clients. Thanks again, Hope to see you very soon.

Great vacation home!

Better than advertised. The views were outstanding. Apartment had everything you needed and more. Always felt safe and secure with the doorman at front controlling access. Good restaurants nearby and a supermarket a short walk away. Taxis are plentiful and very cheap. Enjoyed the cool evenings on the terrace sipping wine and watching the sunset. This is MY choice for a return visit!

Excellent service & beautiful condo!

Santiago and his English speaking daughter were excellent and very attentive to our needs. They were very informative and helpful!We were two couple who only had 2 days to explore Quito and found the location of this property excellent. On Sunday enjoyed a walk through the park viewing the art market and souvenir stalls as well as sampling from the local food vendors. Sunday night had a fantastic meal at the Argentinian restaurant beside the condo - highly recommend; even bought a painting that was on display. Monday went to the old town and saw the changing on the guard - more pomp than Buckingham Place. Be sure to stop by the tourist center as it has beautiful local authentic local products for sale. Make sure you try the local Chocolate Coffee chocolate bars; I wish I had bought more. Monday night we went to the restaurant Carmichael's - down the hill, first street on your left about 200 meters in. OMG what a beautiful place, it is like stepping into another world, the atmosphere and food were amazing and we found it very reasonable for the food & experience - 4 of us with bottle of wine $200. Highly recommend this property - nothing we would change. Thank you Santiago and family!

Simply amazing! Great location, views and an absolute home away from home

The apartment is located in a great location in town, very close to prime shopping areas, bars and cafes. It's fully equipped with all the essentials to make you feel as if you never left home. It has from pots and pans to medicine to wireless internet to a jacuzzi to washer and drier. The decor was very well selected, every picture in the website accurately reflects the overall looks of the apartment. Two thumbs up on the cleanness of the place. The view of the apartment is phenomenal, you can sit down in the living room just to admire the city's views. The only drawback to it is the constant traffic and noise level from the Eloy Alfaro avenue, other than that it's definitely a home away from home. The owner is very flexible and willing to work with you to make your stay and experience a great one. Upon booking, he provided us a welcome package that included things to do and things to avoid which were very helpful. He even went the extra mile to ensure and accommodate our to and from airport transportation. Upon arrival to Ecuador we were greeted by the facility manager, great people by the way, they went out and about to the point they make us feel as if we knew them for life. The nice perk was the cell phone we were given to use while our stay in there, very helpful. Overall, I truly felt as if I never left my home. I'll definitely stay here again and will recommend it anyone traveling to Ecuador seeking for a great experience.

Great location and well appointed apartment

This condo has an amazing view of Quito. The location is perfect for those who need to experience the city for the first time. The owner, Santigo, is very attentive and his staff went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. They even provided a cell phone for us. The condo was on a busy street but the hum of the city never bothered us. Give Santiago's place a try he is an excellent VRBO owner.

Perfect Place For Our Vacation

We have stayed in various apartments in the past and this one is definitely our best choice!!!! The rental process was easy. While the pictures are very impressive, the apartment is even more beautiful in person and the views are breathtaking. The maintenance and condition of the unit, interior furnishings, kitchen, security of the building are great. The apartment was very clean, perfectly located, luxury amenities and amazing views of Quito. Overall we had a wonderful, fun and relaxing stay at this condo. We highly recommend it!!!

Fantastic

Two senior couples.

Beautiful, wonderful, clean and safe. We were met at the airport and transported to the apartment by a person speaking both English and Spanish fluently. The property was beyond our expectations. It was just amazing from the views of the city to the safety and security of the building. It was immaculate, efficient and tastefully decorated. We had a great time at the property and touring around the city and country. This place has everything. I would recommend this property to people who have an appreciation for the fine things in life.

Wonderful apartment in a great location with spectacular views

We spent a month here in November – December 2012 and had a wonderful stay. This is the only place we’ve ever stayed where the description and the photos understated how nice the place is. It is located on the 7th floor of an 8-story building at the corner of Avenida Portugal and Eloy Alfaro and has a 270-degree view to the east, south, and west of Quito. The views are incredible. The apartment is not where VRBO shows it to be; its location is much nicer. The lat/lon of 0d 10.88’ S x 78d 28.55’ W will show you the building on Google Earth. The apartment is close to a large upscale supermarket (MegaMaxi) and a very upscale shopping mall (Quicentro). It’s a longer walk or a $2 cab ride to Mercado Iñaquito – a large local market with fruits, veggies, fish, and shellfish that, by themselves, make the trip to Ecuador worthwhile. There are restaurants everywhere within walking distance. One of the very nicest, San Telmo, is next door. It’s expensive but really good. There are 4 Mexican restaurants close by as well as several local (and inexpensive) places. There are two good bakeries (Cyrano’s and Honey & Honey) very close. The Shorton Grill down by Plaza Chile is a good steak house. A grassy green space is inside the secured area; it’s about 1/4 acre (~11,000 sq ft, ~1,000 sq m) and has flowers and gorgeous “palm” trees. One of the main bus lines is at the bottom of the hill – maybe 400m. It runs a straight route north and south through Quito. The area around the apartment is safe, even after dark. We walked all over at night and never once felt ill-at-ease. Cabs are everywhere and ridiculously cheap by US standards. The Quito Botanic Garden (at the south end of Parque Carolina) is a 20-minute walk. The complex has a 24-hour security guard and card-controlled entrances. Parque Metropolitano is just uphill; it’s a large, wooded green space with lots of trees, trails, and open areas. Families congregate here on the weekends and bike riders use the trails. Excellent housecleaning service is available for $15 for about 4 hours. Wireless Internet, cable TV, and a local cell phone are provided. There’s a printer with the driver installation CD. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped with pots, pans, glassware, stemware, silverware, linens, coffee maker, food processor, range, oven, dish washer, refrigerator/freezer, and granite kitchen counter tops. The master bath has a huge Jacuzzi. Bar-b-q areas are on the roof.

I had rented appts in Quito before but nothing like this!! It's very spacious and everything is like its brand new.Views from the living room windows all around the appt are amazing and the building is very secure and in a very safe area. Rocio who manages the appt is very helpful and she even gives you a local phone to use. You can easily rent this appt with a whole family. I will be back every time I go to Ecuador.
