Gut: Check-in, Kommunikation und Lage
First time ever renting and not staying at a hotel. Reserved unit 4, but upon opening the door, we saw two German roaches crawling on the inside of the door and two dead inside, but said we’d say something if we saw more. The unit was not clean like I keep my own house and could use a coat of fresh paint, the walls jaw scuff marks on them and the particle board cabinets need to be replaced. They look like they’ve been wet before and seem to make the room smell. The kitchen cabinets had some liquid that dripped and dried on them and the handles are rusted and need to be replaced. The straw that broke the camels back was when we were about to leave for the day and grabbed our water bottles and my boyfriends had baby roaches crawling inside of it. That was it, we called the host. She had the owner come and he said he could move us to another unit. This would be unit 5, which had the beach views. We said ok, still concerned. We threw our luggage in and left for the day. Once we got back and actually walked around the unit, we noticed the floors are very uneven and quite concerning. This is a second floor unit and I believe overtime these floors may fall through to the first floor. We stepped softly around the crack in the laminate between the living room and the bedroom, hoping not to damage anymore flooring. Overall, not a good experience for us unfortunately.
