Puako is a long-standing Hawaiian community nestled in the shadow of Mauna Kea on the Kona Gold Coast, one of the driest locations in the state of Hawaii. With less than ten inches of rain per year, great weather is not hard to find in this location. It is often said about the big island, if you dont like the weather, just wait an hour.

The Puako Beach community has an authenticity you wont find in the commercial resorts. Amazing sea life abounds in our reef, including turtle cleaning stations, colorful tropical fish and manta and spotted eagle rays. At the end of the road, you will find Paniau Beach with waves for the surfer that wont disappoint. In the other direction, Beach 69, a local favorite, is a ten-minute walk and features waves, white sand, and amazing snorkeling. Hapuna Beach, one of the most scenic white sand beaches on the island is just a mile away by car or paddleboard.
