Newer luxury cottage with hot tub; walking distance to town and beach

Welcome to our newer family friendly vacation home. Come relax, unwind and take a load off. We are part of the very popular Merchant Street Cottages located just over an hour from Chicago in the heart of New Buffalo, Michigan.

Our vacation home is designed for large groups of families and friends with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms spread across 3 levels. Our home is just steps away from the private heated outdoor pool and has several unique features including an expansive full front porch with porch swing and plenty of other seating, large 3 season screened in porch, 2nd floor balcony with 2 new comfy chairs and the only home with a private back patio surrounded by mature evergreens with hot tub, large L couch, comfy chair, enclosed outdoor shower, Weber grill with natural gas and Solo Bonfire firepit.

It is also just 2 blocks from downtown New Buffalo and walking distance to the fabulous New Buffalo beach. We also offer a beach wagon, Beach chairs, stadium chairs, kids beach chairs and beach toys.

Inside the home you will immediately be impressed with our modern fully equipped kitchen that is open to the dining room. The dining room has a large farmhouse table with banquet seating that can accommodate up to 12 people. The nearby peninsula seats four additional people. The kitchen and dining room are also open to the living room with plenty of seating and smart TV managed through Roku, which allows you to login to any of your streaming services or enjoy the options available! The living room has a gas fireplace to cozy up to when it’s cold in the fall and winter months. The master bedroom is on the main floor and has a king bed with in-suite bathroom. For your convenience there is also a powder room on the main level. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs along with a full bathroom with double sinks. The lower level has an additional family room with a Foosball table, “pop a shot” basketball, large TV with Roku streaming services. The lower level also has a bedroom with in-suite bathroom.

There are Nest thermostats on each floor to adjust the heating and cooling to your preferred temperature.

The whole home has gigabit internet from Comcast plus Google Mesh system with 3 access points (one for each home level) to insure necessary wireless coverage and speed to support your work and gaming needs.

As mentioned above our home is unique with 4 distinct outdoor spaces for your enjoyment. The expansive front porch including porch swing is a great place to lounge with a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Our three-season porch is another favorite spot to hang out and listen to the bird's chirp, have great conversations and create lots of memories. Outside under the stars we have a large private flagstone patio with lots of seating, brand new hot tub/spa, natural gas Weber grill and a fire pit to roast s’mores. The enclosed outdoor shower is also located on the patio and is ready for you to rinse off after a day at the beach or pool. The shower in conveniently located, walk through the garage and you can hang up your towel and drop off your beach toys while entering the home. Both the front and rear patios have ceiling fans for warm days and nights. And finally, there is a large balcony off one of the upstairs bedrooms.


The hot tub that is available for your use! It’s quite nice but it Is very important that the hot tub not be used after 11 pm EST. The city will ticket us/you if there is noise after 11 PM EST. Our neighbors will also report any usage after 11 PM EST. Please also no glass inside the hot tub and no loud music outside. Finally, please carefully open the cover and close right after exiting and the beach towels for hot tub are in the laundry room. You can enter/exit through garage. We appreciate your cooperation! There is plenty to do for both adults and kids in New Buffalo and its neighboring towns. Downtown New Buffalo was redeveloped with expanded walkways to allow the restaurants to have outdoor seating. Also check out the new Starbucks to complement the local choices. Some of the amazing restaurants include Brewsters, Stray Dog, and Redamak's. Don’t forget Oink's for ice cream and David’s for your coffee and terrific unique sandwiches. We're blocks from the local grocery and liquor store (Barney’s). The areas wineries (i.e. Round Barn, Dablon Winery), breweries (i.e. Greenbush and Beer Church) and distilleries (i.e. Journeyman) are just a short drive away for a wonderful weekend of touring and tasting Harbor Country's best. For those beyond walking distance we can arrange transportation for you to/from the wineries, breweries and distilleries. Beginning May 31-Sept 6 on Thursday's take a stroll to the farmer’s market right on Merchant street for some farm fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables, pasta and many other delicious items. The Casino is also conveniently located.

For your enjoyment and convenience, we have both adult and children's bicycles. Take a bike ride through the neighborhood or to the Lake and enjoy the wind blowing in your face. Don’t forget about winter activities including sledding, ice skating and cross-country skiing.

If you are from Chicago and you prefer public transportation you can take the Amtrak to/from Union Station. Our home is a couple short blocks to the New Buffalo Stop.
