This apartment is part of the Capistrano Playa apartment urbanisation. The apartment urbanisation has been designed in 1985 and the architect did a very good job. Although there are quite a big number of apartments, it feels a bit like one of those Spanish White Villages and never dense. The apartments are nestled on a hill and built in the shape of a U opening towards Burriana Beach, which in my opinion is the best of Nerja's beaches. The common gardens are very well taken care off and there is also a little lake with waterfall. From the apartment, it takes about 20 minutes walk to Nerja center which can be a bit strenuous (or a good work-out, depending how you see it) as you firstly need to go down the hill and then up again to the center. There is an elevator that can be used with a key for residents, but it covers only about one third of the distance down to the beach. Because of these many steps to take, the apartment cannot be recommened to people with walking difficulties or for very little kids.
Speaking about the apartment itself, it is outstanding from every other apartment of the complex in two important aspects: Firstly: Location. It is at the very highest point of the complex and enjoys dramatic 180 degree seaviews from two terraces which already make a holiday by themselves. Secondly, it has been completely renovated very recently with a top-notch design and decor. As it is stated in the ad, the apartment does not have aircon. While we have a high respect for the owner's care for the environment, this might be a problem if you are staying in July/August when it can get really hot in Nerja. However, the high location gives you a good sea breeze and there are fans provided in both rooms. The TV has only English channels, but hey- who goes to Nerja for watching TV?
We found it very convenient that - after making your final payment - you will receive a code that gives you access to the key, so you can arrive at any time you want without having to commit to a fixed arrival / handover time. The apartment is ideal for a couple of two.
For excursions, Granada is within easy reach and we took one way over the mountains which was very scenic. Our favorite restaurant in Nerja is "Petit Paris" which offers high quality dinners that are delicious and for the quality offered great value.
