Unfortunately, we’ve had a great deal of rain recently, which can delay lawn care and also lead to muddy steps. We apologize for the oversight and inconvenience. Regarding the exterior cameras: we want to be clear that we fully respect guest privacy and maintain compliance with all laws. The presence and placement of exterior cameras are disclosed both prior to and after booking. These cameras are located on the exterior of the home only and exist to help us monitor for safety, confirm compliance with our house rules (such as no parties or unauthorized pets), and protect both our guests and our property. This is standard practice, similar to what you'd find at hotels which also use exterior cameras for security. There are no interior cameras, and no footage invades private indoor areas. We did receive notice during your stay about mud on the deck steps and regret that no other concerns were shared with us in real time. Had you reached out, we would have gladly clarified any misunderstandings and/or sent a team member to address your concerns promptly.
