We could not as for a better place to enjoy the views and a place to relax after chasing the area waterfalls in the area , there is a fully furnished kitchen full of spices and items need to cooking meals at home ,

Nice clean place and a nice mountain view. We really didn’t have any problems with our stay so we didn’t have any extra communication with them. We took a little nature walk on the property and are including some pictures.

We had the best visit to NC yet. The space was clean, well designed and built, and notably the host clearly thought about what a visitor would need. The view was lovely and quiet. Recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful, relaxing stay.We hope to return.

This was my second stay at Icarus House and just as wonderful. The home is spotlessly clean, furnishings and beddings are beautiful and very comfortable, and the house is set up with anything you could possibly need on vacation - books, games, streaming TV, an office for work, washer/dryer, plus the kitchen has all supplies needed for cooking. The view is incredible and so relaxing to sit on the porch in one of the rockers, and with it fully covered, I could enjoy the outside even in rain. The property itself is so lovely as well. I have an AWD car and had zero issues at all with the drive up the mountain. While gravel, the road is very well graded and wide. I love the remote feel of the house even though the drive into downtown Brevard is only about 10 minutes, so I could have a true getaway with easy access to restaurants and shops. I travel throughout the year and this house is in my absolute tops for VRBOs.

We have stayed here multiple times. It has truly become like a home away from home. The view at every hour of the day and in all weather circumstances is amazing. Comfortable beds, soft towels, surprisingly great shower water pressure, and, quite frankly, everything that you need to make it feel like home. There is an absolutely comprehensive and intentional binder full of local information and detailed instructions. Did I mention the view?? There are plenty of books, games, and DVDs, but the view will never take my attention away to something like that. I never even logged onto the WiFi. One of my favorite features is the artwork on display at Icarus House. Every print, painting, and sculpture peaks your interest in a different way, making you wonder about Brevard, the Blue Ridge, history, and mostly, who the curators are and why they choose to share with others. Highly recommend. Be sure to have a Jeep or truck or rugged SUV to get there. You will never want to leave.

Mountain House far exceeded expectations and was one of my all time favorite home rentals. The view is spectacular, and the home takes full advantage with large windows throughout. The home is so well equipped that we lacked for nothing over our 6 night stay. The covered porch area allowed us to sit in the rocking chairs outside, even during rainy days. The inside space was beautifully and comfortably appointed with high quality at every turn and even down to the smaller perks, like lights in the closets, an entryway with a bench & coat/purse hooks, dimmable light switches, and lots of bathroom hooks! The beds were extremely comfortable and dressed with comfy white linens. The bathroom is spacious with plenty of shelving to unpack toiletries. We didn't use the TV, DVD with tons of movies available, games, or the gorgeous stone (gas) fireplace, but they are available. We also didn't walk any of the trails leading from the property, but they are there too! Despite the rural setting, we were only a 10 minute drive into downtown Brevard. The hosts have a beautiful property, and I am already dreaming of a return visit!

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. The hosts live on property and are very welcoming and willing to answer any questions you may have. The road leading to the house is very steep as you climb the mountain, but leads you to this beautiful place. The views are stunning and it is so very peaceful.
