Secluded Lakefront Retreat / Private Dock & Gas Firepit

Experience peaceful lakefront living at this fully renovated retreat overlooking a secluded 6-acre lake on 60 acres of beautiful Southern Illinois countryside. With wide-open views, abundant wildlife, cozy living spaces, and room to spread out, this is a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the outdoors.

The home comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests and is fully stocked with the essentials for a relaxing stay. Enjoy the cozy fireplace, spacious open-concept kitchen and living area, covered porch, and an upstairs coffee nook overlooking the lake—perfect for a quiet morning or evening under the stars.

Guests have exclusive use of the Lake House, its surrounding yard, private dock, and seasonal water amenities including a paddle boat, kayak, and lily pad. Fishing, relaxing by the water, stargazing, and simply enjoying the peaceful country setting are all part of the experience. Guests may also walk across the dam to the back pond, where you'll find bass fishing and two picnic tables.

The Lake House is located on our family-owned farm. The home and its immediate yard are private, but the property is shared with the owners, two RV/camper sites, and our other vacation rental, The Farmstead. Guests staying at those accommodations may use the shared driveway and have designated access to the back pond, but the Lake House dock, paddle boat, kayak, and lily pad are reserved exclusively for Lake House guests.

Nightly rates include up to 5 guests (infants excluded). Each additional guest is $25 per night. Please include all overnight guests on your reservation. Maximum occupancy is 8 guests to ensure everyone's comfort, safety, and proper liability coverage. Exceeding the maximum occupancy may result in cancellation without refund.

A few things to know before booking: This is a true country setting, surrounded by water, woods, and grain fields. Especially during warmer months, you may encounter mosquitoes, moths, ladybugs, spiders, wasps, gnats, mice, and other signs of country life. We maintain a regular pest-control routine, but occasional critters are part of staying in the country.

Swimming and water activities are at your own risk, and we highly encourage guests to bring properly fitted life jackets, especially for children. The game room is a converted former garage and is not heated or cooled, so temperatures may vary depending on the season.

Located just a few miles from town, restaurants, a golf course, and the World Shooting and Recreational Complex, the Lake House offers a peaceful escape without being far from everyday conveniences.
