Genießen Sie das Bootfahren, Kajakfahren und den atemberaubenden Meerblick vom Hinterhof am Strand. Dieses schöne, 2000 Quadratfuß große Haus am Strand ist perfekt für eine Großfamilie oder zwei kleine Familien.
Fischen Sie am Strand vor dem Haus, der nur wenige Schritte vom Achterdeck entfernt ist. Gehen Sie am Strand spazieren und sammeln Sie Muscheln. Genießen Sie die Meeresbrise und die tollen Sonnenaufgänge von Ihrem eigenen Wohnzimmer aus oder auf dem Rasen, der nur wenige Meter vor dem Strand liegt. Denken Sie an ein Stück Karibik in Maine.

Obwohl wir manchmal segeln gehen, leben wir ein anderes Mal in der Nähe und kommen bei uns zu Hause vorbei, um alle Gäste zu treffen. Wir hoffen, Sie werden dieses Haus genauso genießen wie wir.

Great beach house. Easy access to everything.

Great rental, listing accurate. Owner provides a detailed informational packet that describes everything, including “how-to” for the household appliances, tips and local attractions and much more. House is on the beach, beautiful sunrises. The trolley stops nearby if you want to ride instead of walking or driving to local places. Sheila’s is just a short walk. Great family location, low key and relaxing. Highly recommend.

Check in was painless, owner very friendly and accommodating to our needs, the view and location is priceless. Beach is your backyard . Strong WiFi signals. Kitchen had everything you need to cook a Maine style meal. Has plenty utensils, pots and pans. Be aware though, shower only is downstairs- a bit small. Has outside shower which is larger. House is old and floors creak, but worth putting up with for the location and view. Love the corner back porch.

Fantastic beach location!

Thank you, Steven and Andrea, for opening your lovely home for summer rental. Our family had a fantastic time and hope to have the opportunity to visit again another summer. Your home is comfortable and well-equipped, and the beach location simply cannot be beat. We found everything in perfect working order and every comfort was provided for, including luxurious bed linens, bath and beach towels and a very well-equipped kitchen. We were an easy walk or drive to the pier, but we never really wanted to leave the beach! We'd recommend this home to anyone, including families with small kids. Plenty of room and plenty to do!

Perfect location!

The location couldn't be any more perfect! You walk right out to the beach which was never crowded. It was just a short walk to the pier. We were able to see the fireworks right from the house. The house was clean and was stocked with most things you may need. The only downfalls of the house are that there was no A/C on the first floor and there is only one shower on the first floor in a very small bathroom. Overall, this place was great. We loved it and would definitely recommend it.

I am mindful that the whole point of going on vacation in Maine during the summer is to enjoy the beach...which is only footsteps from the backdoor. I have installed a new shower down stairs to accommodate the guests. And of course there is an outside shower and a bath tub upstairs. I do my best to keep the house clean and well stocked as the tenants have stated. I would rent to these people again they were very good guests. steven

Perfect beach vacation

Steven was a great host and has the perfect OOB home that I enjoyed with my family. Plenty of space and ideal location with direct and easy access to the beach! The description is spot on and we cannot wait to stay again. As mentioned in the description, one standup shower and one bathtub in doors and an outdoor shower. Adding a shower to the tub would be ideal but the outdoor shower helps! All of this is fully disclosed. We also wish dedicated shelves space in kitchen versus mixing with some of owners own supplies. But plenty of counter space to keep it organized. Overall we couldn’t have been happier and there were no surprises here.

We loved the location right on the beach and the floor to ceiling windows in the living room!

We couldn’t say enough how having the porch and living room window wall made even the many rainy days not matter! We were so close to the beach and the sound of the waves at high tide was amazing! The rooms were all comfortable, kitchen stocked with all the items needed, nice big dining room table for meals or games. The only room for improvement would be having a hand held shower head or shower in the upstairs tub if we were getting nitpicky. (None of us are tub people). The downstairs shower was small but didn’t bother us after our initial surprise. We also liked the outdoor shower for washing off after swimming. Some of the family met the owners and said they were welcoming and super helpful and friendly. Parking was plentiful. We loved our week and are definitely booking again!

I am so glad to hear you say you had a great time...and that the house was very comfortable. I love it there and I grew up there so I understand about the windows and the rain. I am not sure that the after thought shower would make much of a difference up stairs but it is on the books for installation one of these years. the down stairs shower is also on the list...but it is more problematic as it is such a small space. It too is on the list for upgrading. Your family left the house in great shape and took good care of it while in residence. I would rent to you and your family again. No Question about it. Thank you.

Fantastic location for a beach holiday with children

In previous years, we always stayed in Prout's Neck. This year, with two young grand-daughters, we rented in OOB and we have no regrets. I measure the success of a holiday by children (the parents) and grand-children, begging to do this again next year. The 3 year-old would awaken before 6 each morning and, in my bathrobe, coffee in hand, we would walk up and down the beach which is rather magical this early in the morning. In my research, I concluded there are very few rental houses in the area where this is possible. Moreover, it is located near Pine Point which is very convenient (i.e. On the Vine and Pine Point Grill) and it is sufficiently far away from the pier. There is nothing but the sound of waves to be heard after 8 p.m. On the more practical side, speaking of the house itself, it is well furnished and very comfortable. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The appliances are old but they work perfectly well. Plenty of linens. Andrea seems to think of everything. Fresh flower bouquets to greet you on arrival. I know this house is a recent addition to the rental market and perhaps, in time, this will lead to a gentle updating of the bathrooms. In addition, the bbq needs to be replaced. These last two comments are made in a constructive way and would not deter me from renting again.

I replace all the insides on a regular basis so it works like new. I have since updated both Bathrooms. and added a enclosed outside shower too.

Great location for family vacation!

It was a great location, nice big living room with big windows looking out at the beach. Nice porch with grill and plenty of outdoor space. The kitchen is older but had a lot of supplies we needed for cooking and grilling. The son David was very friendly and helpful if we had any questions. AC's in the bedrooms were a lifesaver as we hit a hot spell. As others said the one small shower on the first floor was tough for us, if the bathroom on the second floor had a shower it would be a game changer. Thank you for a great week! The LaPointe's

Great Location

First - the location is top notch, right on the beach far enough a way from the pier so it is relatively private. Neighbors were very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very good experience A couple things that seemed a little offputting. The owner was there when we got there which is fine, but something I have never experience with an VRBO, he was parked in the closest spot making us wait to unload, and had a bottle of whiskey in his hand which seemed less than professional. The house could use a professional cleaning service. It in appeared that he went around and vacuumed quickly and not much else. I had to clean the toilets as there was still some residue in it. I also noticed he drove by daily to check on us which felt a little weird. The spot is unreal the rest left something to be desired..

Let me first say that Kyle asked about extra people and I told him $200 more. He did not pay me. He came with his wife and 3 kids under 5. Yes I did come by the house on my bike or car to visit with the neighbors and to check on my home. Kyle had no less then 3 cars in the drive and at one point he had to use the neighbors drive to park a 4th car. At least 2 of them stayed over night. NO PAYMENT from Kyle. As to the cleaning i rent 8 weeks with 8 dif parties and no one has complained the house was not clean. I have a professional cleaner come every Saturday. I do wait for the guests to arrive every week as i want to meet the people who are renting my home. I may have had a bottle of scotch in my hand but it was going into the locked cabinet. I don't believe that the toilets were dirty such that they had to clean them. I can tell you that they were the dirtiest guests I have ever rented to. there was food toys and puzzle parts under all the living room furniture. They were gone when we showed up at 10 but all the lights were left on at 10am!!! Bottom line. I would not rent to these people again because they are dirty and because they ripped me off with the number guests.

Great family beach vacation

Perfect location and stunning views of the ocean. A hidden gem! Quiet neighborhood yet close enough for our teens and their friends to walk and bike everywhere. Well equipped kitchen and space for fabulous family dinners inside and outside on the porch overlooking the ocean. Plenty of room for 8 of us to sleep comfortably. Fabulous living room with huge windows and views of the ocean. Loved walking the expansive beach every morning. We all enjoyed using the enclosed outdoor shower. So easy and convenient to be right on the beach with our kayaks and paddle boards. Super responsive and friendly owner. Just what we were looking for - a quiet, easy and relaxing week on the beach with our family.

Vacation observations

Pluses: the location (proximity to beach, center of town) could not have been better. The house is generally lovely and the owner is thoughtful about stocking everything that you might need for a vacation (beach chairs, kitchen amenities, the best coffee set up that I've seen, etc.) The view from the porch is mesmerizing and you wake up hearing the ocean. It's pretty magnificent. Negatives: bathrooms. If you've read the other reviews, this is unfortunate considering it's an easy fix. For all intents and purposes, there is one shower. There could be more if a shower attachment was added to the upstairs bath or even better, a simple outdoor structure could encase the now open outside shower. This should be a simple fix for a great house. It's frustrating when you have 5 adults vying for a shower. My husband was not happy. We loved the house but would be very incentivized to return years to come with some accommodation on the suggestion.

We loved this beach!!

This house is on the quiet side of Old Orchard Beach. We loved sharing the house with my in laws, who have been coming to OOB for years. A beach vacation was perfect. The quality of the sand is famous and raked every morning. My son loved the skim board, no rocks to worry about! One mile from the center of town made it a perfect walk to the pier. The fireworks on Thursday night were awesome. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. THANK YOU!!

The best place to spend a summer

My family spent 2 weeks last summer, 2015, on Puffin Rd in Old Orchard Beach Maine and it was a wonderful time for the entire family. We are from Marin county just north of San Francisco and we don't have such long stretches of sandy beach like Old Orchard Beach . It was wonderful that I could wake up walk down stairs and out the door to the beach and have my morning swim in 2 minutes. It did rain one day, we don't have any out here, and there was still much to do and with the gas grill on the covered porch that looks over the beach, no one got wet that day. Being able to walk for miles on the beach was a real treat for my wife and I, we had lots of time to reconnect. All the neighbors were great, everyone was very friendly and within 2 days we knew what restaurants and stores to go to for lobster, pizza, clams, fish, and groceries. One of the greatest features of the very clean house are the floor to ceiling windows in the living room facing the water. One can spend hours reading, listen to music, and watching everything going on on the beach. I saw that the house has been renovated it could not get much better. Enjoy your stay, I know we did and we will be going back to Puffin Rd in Old Orchard Beach this summer. --tony

7 miles of pristine sandy beach

Long walks on the beach is my fondest memory. We loved our time with family. Having the life guard stand closeby on the beach gave me a sense of protection. Parking for 4 cars was a huge plus. Thank you to our hosts, Steve & Andrea, the recent renovations are so perfect! We look forward to our next visit!
