The Neighborhood:
The Hawthorne/Buckman area offers a wide variety of local flavors. Explore the Cartopia food cart pod or share a pie at Apizza Scholls.
But Portland isn’t just for foodies. The vibrant indie spirit of Hawthorne is alive with a multitude of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques, making it a true hipster haven. Catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews.
If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor. This city park, located atop a dormant volcano vent, offers miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city, providing a perfect escape into nature right within the city limits. Whether you're a foodie, a nature enthusiast, or someone who loves exploring unique shops, the Hawthorne/Buckman District has something special for everyone.

Gut: Check-in, Kommunikation und Lage
If you’re looking for the bare minimum this is your place. There’s no extras to make you feel welcomed. It’s a very old house converted into apartments with thin walls. Windows are nailed shut so no opening for fresh air. The WiFi is horrible so don’t plan to work from this location. I got knocked off every 5mins. The pillows on the couch were stained/dirty as was the carpet, The worst part is they make you pay 500 for a security deposit for “damage” but the place is so old and already beat up there’s no way for one person to log all the damage already present. It does have a responsive host, is in a prime location, comfy bed, and good shower pressure. It’s not a place Id return to.
