Right on the beach

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was clean and orderly. There was a smell that was not very pleasant when you walked in, I especially noticed it around the dinning room table and the 2nd bedroom.

The whole building (Beachside Tower 2) smells like old musty wood. This particular unit had extremely high humidity (I went out and got a dehumidifier that read 76% humidity) and smelled like moldy vents. Also there was a maintenance man looking in the guest bathroom window at my naked daughter cuz the window looks out over part of the roof. A roach in the master as well. So Gibson asked if we wanted to move. We moved to a slightly less smelling unit but now I wish I had just left and gone to the Hilton nearby. The whole tower is not great. My hair and clothes all smelled like the place when I got back until a few washes removed it. The beach chair rental is kind of wanky too cuz you pay 75 and others can place their chairs and umbrella directly in front of you.

Landlord Special but it works

We came in and absolutely fell in love with the place, until.... We woke up to HUGE roaches in the living room & kitchen area.We went to dry clothes and the lint trap wouldn't stay on the dryer and started banging and smelling like it was going to burn. We looked up and noticed that the dining room vent was covered in mold.The TV is controlled my multiple light switches in the living room which is extremely confusing. You can't have chandelier off and be able to watch TV. I hated to be a Karen, truly. But I called them and discussed the issues we did have and they sent someone out to fix the dryer fairly quick and said they sprayed while we at the beach for roaches. It also appeared he tried to wipe the mold too. A lot of things were like a bandaid was slapped on it but we are a redneck family from the south so really the only thing that super bothered us was the roaches. I would recommend this place as long as these things were taken care of.Other than that, great view off of the 17th floor, spacious, good water pressure, plenty of towels and rags. The pool was under construction but the next door pool was available and super close!

Condo is nice, beach setup was not

The condo itself was nice, you can tell the floors need a DEEP cleaning from the unit being heavily in use. If you are staying here soon, just beware the pool is completely under construction and not usable (even though there’s no mention of that in the listing, but they do have pictures of the OLD pool). You are able to use the pool right next door, but anyone can use that so it is usually crowded. Our biggest complaint was the beach setup. If you are paying to rent the beach chairs/umbrella just BEWARE that the resort/condominium does not care at all if people setup chairs and umbrellas in front of the San Destin resort chairs/umbrellas. There are signs right when you get to the beach that state you’re not allowed to do that but no one listens to that or follows that rule. The resort has a “security” person but they don’t do anything useful. We paid several hundreds just to have people in front of us, and I mean ROWS of people in front of the first line of umbrellas/chairs. So if you are going to stay at this location do NOT waste your time or money on renting while on the beach and just break the rules like everyone else since no one seems to care. We have stayed at other condos that enforce the “no setup in front must stay behind if not renting” rule so we are extremely disappointed. Will be staying elsewhere in the future. Also, multiple units are getting renovated so there’s construction noise all throughout the day except on weekends.

First of all this place is beautiful the view from 17th floor is amazing !! Check in and out was a breeze. Host sends you everything you need. Was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. There’s also beach access from the building which was a plus for us and parking as well.

Beautiful property, very poor customer service

The property is beautiful, very nicely furnished and a gorgeous view of the gulf. Unfortunately, the service from the management company left a lot to be desired. When we arrived on day one, I notified them that the TV in the living room would not work and it appeared to be related to a short in the wiring. They indicated they would send someone over. Early in the morning on day two, I notified them that there was a problem with the Hall toilet and an inability to flush it. The response was they would put in a ticket. Throughout the rest of our four day stay, despite follow up, no one ever came to the unit to address the issues.. In the meantime, I was able to fix the toilet, also fix the hall sink, which would not drain, fix the icemaker and diagnose the issue with the wiring, though I could not make it keep from throwing the breaker. Gibson beach rentals has a good reputation. I understand but they did this unit owner no favors. Very disappointing service.Given the lack of response, the least they could do is leave a few tools in the unit that can be accessed.

Great location. Beautiful view

The condo was a great location. The views were beautiful. Plenty of room. Very nice stay overall. The biggest problem was high humidity in the condo. I didn’t say anything to property management as I didn’t see a remedy for the few days we were there. I was disappointed that there was no Keurig coffee maker, but that was my assumption that there would be one there. There were two regular coffee makers, one that was moldy and needed to be thrown away. I did contact management about that.

Great Place to Stay, Gorgeous View, Could Use a few Updates.

We chose this property primarily for its location and bedroom setup. Having two full/queen beds in the second bedroom (instead of bunks or a single bed) was a must for us, and this condo met that requirement perfectly. The space and amenities were great, and the view from the master bedroom was absolutely stunning.However, there were a few downsides to our stay. We really wanted a golf cart, but this property did not include one, and per HOA rules, renting one from an off-site location wasn’t an option. Additionally, we weren’t informed that the pool was under construction until after our final payment, which could have been a major issue if the weather hadn’t been so nice.While the condo itself was spacious, it had a strong musty smell, and the tile and grout could use a deep cleaning. The couch was worn and dirty to the point that we placed a sheet over it to sit comfortably. The "dresser" in the second bedroom was more of an old buffet cabinet, making clothing storage difficult. The pots and pans were heavily worn, particularly the Teflon ones, and could use an upgrade.One unexpected issue was the neighbors—permanent residents with two large dogs that were not well-managed. The dogs would often nip at us in the elevator, and their owners acted as if everyone should be okay with it.Overall, the location and layout were great, but some updates and better communication about amenities and restrictions would have improved our experience.

Great Location but had Issues

Destin is beautiful and location was great. Easy access to the beach. Had several issues- -Water was not working for about 4 hours after checking in and were not told it was off - the floors were filthy -the light outside the door was not working and living area fan light. Very dark without it - screen door to balcony from master bedroom was leaning against the wall. - usually places have a few basics to start like coffee filters. Hand soap and hair dryer. Had issues waking the tv. Broken glass in the elevator window. Had fun in Destin but these things need to be improved.

Overall great stay

The condo is very nice, and it is in a great area. However, this is the second time we have stayed in the building and both times there ended up being construction and water outages. Not sure I will chance it again. Despite this, we had a great time. The beach is beautiful, and the view from this unit is stunning!

Just could have been better for the price point.

The room and location are great. Communication was slow at best. Very limited accomodations. Room was fairly clean but there wasn't a single dish we pulled out to use that was clean. Found a few small bug including a Roch. Also we had to buy an umbrella due to the one that was said to be provided being broken. All in all this could have just been better.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Mostly very good. Living room furniture uncomfortable. Vanity in guest bathroom needs improvement. Price quite q bit higher than similar units our friends rented from other rental companies. Bathtub very difficult to get to facet to turn on and tub did not appear clean. Refrigerator making knocking noise. Reported but owner did not desire to repair or replace.
