Der beheizbare 6x12-Pool mit Travertin-Terrasse (wird nie heiß) verfügt über eine Fernbedienungs abdeckung für die Sicherheit der Kinder. Es gibt eine Außendusche, ein Poolbad und einen überdachten Essbereich im Freien mit Außenküche, Pizzaofen, Grill und Cantina.

Our stay at Fondo Caprile was wonderful and exceeded our every expectation. Arranging our rental with Mieke was a pleasure and she could not have been more accommodating. The villa itself was magnificent from the building, the facilities, and the surroundings to the view. The care takers Denise and Sandro were very helpful and delightful people and seemed to anticipate our every need. We had Denise and Lorena prepare dinner on two occasions and the meals were amongst the best of our trip.We cannot speak highly enough about time at the Villa. Our guests were overwhelmed by the beauty and authenticity of the Villa and some are thinking about arranging their own stay at Fondo Caprile. Several others have commented on the drive up to the Villa; while it takes some caution at first we actually found it enjoyable and the feeling you experience as you pull up to the gates is really hard to put into words.Thank you to Mieke and Stefan for sharing their home with us and providing absolutely marvelous experience.

Tuscany at Its Best

This Villa is well cared for and managed. It is breathtaking and represents all that is Tuscan beauty. The rooms are simple yet elegant, the kitchen is well equipped, and the pool is clean and refreshing. Our family was able to relax and enjoy the amazing view each day. Gorgeous property in Tuscany.

The house is as-advertised and the location in Tuscany is ideal. We enjoyed a wonderful family holiday and thoroughly enjoyed Cortona and all that Tuscany has to offer. It was very easy to work with the owners, who are gracious. The house manager is lovely, but only speaks Italian so be prepared. Highly recommend Villa Caprile.

What a Villa in Tuscany is all about.

Perfect location for day trips covering so many of the hilltop towns. Perfect accommodation for a group of 12 friends as each bedroom has it’s own bathroom.Perfect Villa for relaxing at home coffee every morning, lying by the pool and dinner watching the incredible sunsets.Perfect hosts. Denise takes care of everything while you are at the villa including cooking us a wonderful dinner. Mieke answered all our questions prior to our arrival very promptly. She has set the villa up perfectly and send out an excellent guide book to answer nearly all your questions.

Beautiful villa of your dreams on a hillside near Cortona. Everything was exactly as described and the villa is very large. We had 4 couples each in the 4 master bedrooms which are huge and very nicely separated. Be aware the road up to the villa is very challenging! This is not walking distance or walkable to anything but within 10-15 minutes to Cortona. Not a problem for us at all. Very quiet, very beautiful, fantastic location to explore Tuscany and Umbria. Very large kitchen! We had the team there prepare us all a dinner one night and it was one of our favorite meals of the entire trip.

Christmas in the villa

What a beautiful place to enjoy Christmas with family. The villa is beautiful, comfortable and has a well stocked kitchen with everything you could need. The views are amazing and we watched the New Year fireworks from the sitting room. Denise did an amazing job buying all of our groceries for our arrival. Mieke is a wonderful host - responsive and patient, answering all of our questions. We hope to come back in the summer one day.

Perfect getaway for a group

Fondo Caprile is exactly as pictured and more. Spacious, gracious, comfortable. Beautifully updated, but with lots of character. The views are gorgeous, the blending of indoor and outdoor space is fantastic, and it's outfitted with everything you need. Others have noted that the drive up is pretty rigorous and it is, it's definitely not for the faint of heart. But once you are there you will have no regrets. Loved our stay.

Beautiful region, fantastic house

What a place. The photos do a good job at depicting how pretty the house is, full of old charm and remodelled for modern living. What the pictures don’t tell is how large the house is and how truly magnificent the views are. We particularly loved the breezy pergola for meals and hanging out and the pool deck. Owner and propery manager are lovely and easy to communicate with. The location is great too, a short distance to beautiful Cortona and easy day trips to Siena and Arezzo. Our group had a fantastic time and we highly recommend this property.

Beautiful, comfortable, relaxing, and Italian countryside

What a beautiful home full of comfort and authenticity. We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at Villa Caprile. The property, the house, the pool, all the accommodations met or exceeded our expectations. Our children teenagers and younger felt so at home, and we all enjoyed our stay. It was so wonderful to have this home to return to after short or long day trips to some of the most amazing places and towns that are all around. What an excellent house to stay in! Absolutely beautiful and the most perfect setting. Extremely well equipped. Like others, I would echo that the hairpin gravelled drive up to the house is not for the faint hearted and it was only just possible in our VW campervan. We have suggested to the owners that they mention this in the initial advertisement for the house rental, as we only received information that the drive was difficult in the house manual one week before we arrived. Apart from this, a really perfect experience.

A Lovely Italian Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It is very spacious and has stunning views of the Tuscan countryside and Cortona. The caretakers are very responsive to any question or request -- we just used Google Translate & WhatsApp to connect with them. It is a bit of a drive to get up to the property over gravel roads -- not a complaint, just the nature of the property -- so your car will get very dirty over time. It takes about 20 minutes to get into Cortona and park if you're headed there. Finally, there are a couple of excellent fine dining options nearby (Villa Piazzano & La Corte Dei Papi) if you want a date night away from your full group. We would definitely consider staying here again if we are in the area.

Amazing property which exceeded expectations!!!

This property is all it explains to be. The stay included myself, my husband, my daughters and their families. The property is spectacular, the rooms as beautiful as shown. The guesthouse was perfect for my daughter, her husband and 2 young children. The travel cots were perfect and opening the chest of toys brought so much joy to my 2 year old granddaughter. We utilized the kitchen and pizza oven and have such wonderful memories to hold. Our only disappointment was that the pool heater was not in working order which was one of the main reason for renting this property although I must say knowing now what I do about the property I would rent again with or without the pool.

Friends from Brooklyn

The house was perfect! The pictures don’t do it justice for how beautiful it really is. We went in June when everything was in bloom and it was a perfect vacation. We were a group of 9 friends who love to cook and loved the pizza oven and local markets. We hung out by the pool daily and went wine tasting with a driver recommended in the house book. We had dinner cooked for us in the house one night by Denise and it was amazing! We rented e-bikes and tackled the driveway (which is not for the faint of heart) but had a wonderful time exploring the area on the bikes. The hotel at the bottom of the driveway is a must visit as well! Overall the house is amazing and fully equipped for a large group who loves to cook and enjoy a beautiful pool! Perfect vacation!

Birthday celebration in Tuscany

Beautiful villa with stunning scenery, exactly as in photos! Could not fault equipment and utilities in villa especially in kitchen. Felt as if we were stepping into a home rather than a rental property! Spent most evenings after meals enjoying the views from the outside dining area! As others previously mentioned the single track road leading to the villa was longer than we anticipated and at the latter end approaching villa is steep with two hairpin bends to negotiate but the view is worth it! The pool area was gorgeous even though weather was cooler than average for June and we could not make use of pool as much as we would have liked, we still enjoyed area to relax. A very enjoyable break for four generations of our family.

When we were looking for somewhere to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our family we naturally turned to Italy where we have spent many happy holidays in the past. We found Fondo Caprile in an area we had visited before and decided that it would be the ideal place. How right we were. It certainly lived up to its photos and our expectations. Communications beforehand with the host, Mieke, were prompt and helpful. The house itself was equipped with everything you can think of (and more). It is so spacious and has such lovely grounds. We loved sitting in the outside dining area at mealtimes with its views across to Cortona, even when there was a thunderstorm on one occasion.Fondo Caprile is also well located, within an hour or so of Perugia, Assisi and Montepulciano by car with Cortona just twenty minutes away. We also took advantage of the railway service from Camucia for trips to Florence and Orvieto.We used the meal service provided by Denise (the caretaker) and her friend Lorena on 3 occasions and would not have found any better meals in the local restaurants.

Tuscan Magic

This property is in a gorgeous setting up on a hill overlooking Tuscan hills and the town of Cortona. The house is spacious and beautifully renovated. It is furnished and decorated with a mix of old and new. I loved the brick floors. The kitchen is modern and roomy. We hired a chef one night and he was impressed with both the space and the tools for cooking. The bathrooms are a good size and modern. The beds are comfortable. The living spaces worked well for children and adults with sturdy, comfortable furniture.The pool is exceptional! The grandchildren wanted to just swim all the time. The view from the pool is impressive. The grounds are manicured with flowers blooming. The owner was easily available through the VRBO app. She generously answered all of our many questions. A truly magical place!

1 week stay near Cortona

The property was great for 2 families that needed to spread out. There was a cabinet full of kids toys and a very well equipped kitchen with all you need. The pool was great with a retractable cover that made us feel at ease with our young kids running around. The week we were there it was very hot. The house was hot at night without using air conditioning at night. We only used it during the evenings and the bill at the end of the week was over 600 euro. We also did laundry a few times but did not use the dryer. The a/c is clearly not energy efficient. All in all we would recommend staying here just beware if you go during a hot period. The drive to Cortona was 15-20 minutes. week.

Hi, great to hear that you had a good stay and we are also surprised by the large gas and electricity consumption which normally is about one third of what your group had. In the meantime we have also replaced the gas fuelled warm water boiler by a solar panel heated one which should drop energy consumption even more.

A Perfect Tuscan Escape!

Our time at Fondo Caprile was a dream! Nestled in the Tuscan countryside, this villa exceeded our expectations & provided the perfect blend of comfort & authentic Italian charm. We were struck by the villa’s breathtaking setting, surrounded by rolling hills, lush vineyards, & olive groves. The interior of the villa was exquisite. The living room has a comfy & perfectly placed couch for lounging & conversation. One of the highlights of our stay was the outdoor spaces. The Tuscan Window, as we called it, was perfect for meals & views. The pool was an absolute delight, offering a refreshing escape.Just a short drive from the charming town of Cortona, we had easy access to restaurants, shops, & historical sites. The villa also served as a great base for day trips to other Tuscan gems like Assisi & Montepulciano. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the exceptional hospitality of our hosts. They went above & beyond to ensure our comfort, providing excellent recommendations for local dining & activities, & were always available to assist with any requests.They provided a thorough house book equipped with everything we needed to plan our stay. I can truly say this information shaped our trip into fabulous day trips & unforgettable meals. The combination of stunning natural beauty & outstanding hospitality created a perfect retreat. We left with wonderful memories. The villa is a true gem, & I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone seeking an unforgettable Tuscan escape.

Fantastisch!

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt, selbst außerhalb der Pool-Saison. Alles ist mit viel Liebe und Sorgfalt eingerichtet. Wann immer man ein Anliegen hat, ist eine sehr liebenswerte und hilfsbereite Hausfee ganz in der Nähe gewesen. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Traumhafter Gruppenurlaub

Wir sind als Gruppe von 11 Erwachsenen und einem Kleinkind für eine Woche in diese Villa eingezogen und man kann nur sagen, dass hier kaum ein Wunsch offen bleibt. Das Objekt an sich ist in hervorragendem Zustand, die Schlafzimmer (jedes mit eigenem Bad) sind sauber und gemütlich, der Pool wird alle zwei Tage gereinigt und die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man zum Kochen so braucht. Vor allem der Pizzaofen hat es unserer Gruppe angetan, in dem wir in 3 von 7 Nächten selbstgemachte Pizza backten. Alles in allem können wir diese Villa nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

This house was spectacular. Everything you think of with a luxury villa in Tuscany. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need. We cooked every night at the house and had amazing sunset dinners. Coffee machine was great with fresh beans to grind. The pool was the most beautiful view, and the option to heat it was very nice. The kids loved it. We were even offered to pick some fresh tomatoes from the garden and they were amazing. Laundry room is fully stocked with iron, board, steam, etc. and separate dryer. The a/c units in each bedroom keep the rooms nice and cool for sleeping. The living areas has a huge comfy couch and tv to lounge. We stayed with two other families and we were all talking about staying again. We all loved it so much. The house itself is situated in a very central part close to towns and not a big drive to other major towns. Grocery was just down the street and a super nice hotel was at the bottom of the Hotel that we did a wine tasting one night and a superb dinner as well. The care taker does not speak English, but that was not a problem. We just used Google Translate and she was more than helpful and very kind. Can’t wait to go back!

The property was excellent in every way from cleanliness to decor. The house was comfortable, yet each guest enjoyed privacy. It was well equipped and in “like new” condition. The setting was gorgeous with green vistas and flowers, and woodlands. The road to the villa was unpaved and steep, but doable. We paid to have the pool heated which cost less than we had anticipated. Everyone had a great time at this lovely spot.

Tuscan Villa on the mountain

Vacationed in this villa for one week with another family. We were 9 people living in the villa and it was enough space for all! The Villa lies on a mountain making the driving up a bit of a challenge however once you arrived at villa Caprile it is worth it! In addition to its picturesque views, the landscaping was very well maintained, the pool was cleaned every morning, and Denise welcomed us with pleasure. The outside eating area was perfect for the nice breeze. There was fan air conditioning in every room which was a plus. Loved all the accommodations such as the speakers, TV. Very ideal location also!

We are a Belgian family in love with Italy. Until a few years ago we traveled a lot and saw a lot of the world in addition to all regions of Italy. However, we then thought it was time to have our own place in Italy and we started looking for a house in the region of Tuscany or Umbria.

We searched for a long time and finally found Fondo Caprile, a house that fully met our expectations: Quiet - it is located on a hill and is protected from external noise by natural barriers. A beautiful sight - The sight of Cortona in the distance is fantastic in any daylight. A beautiful swimming pool and above all a house with character. Fondo Caprile certainly has the latter in abundance. The house was renovated by the previous owners with very high-quality materials, while the authentic character was completely preserved.

The fact that there is a large olive grove (200 olive trees) and a small vineyard only adds to the pleasure of being in Italy. This year we picked olives and had our own olive oil made.

We also wanted to live in the vicinity of a traditional village or town. That as well we found with Fondo Caprile - Cortona is about 10 minutes away with a large number of good restaurants. Camucca is 15 minutes away and there we find supermarkets, DIY stores, etc...
And then of course we have all the towns and cities of Tuscany and Umbria, with Sienna, Perugia and Arezzo as the closest ones. But even Florence is easily reachable by train or by car.

The country road to Fondo Caprile serves just two villas, adding to its peaceful location. The road to get there can be a bit intimidating the first time, but we've driven up and down with all types of vehicles (from very small to large with a trailer) and we've never had any problems.
