We had a fabulous vacation for a family birthday celebration at this home! This was our first VRBO and it exceeded all our expectations! It’s in a quiet location a few miles from all restaurants/stores, but we spent most of the trip enjoying the property, the views, the lake, a fire pit and the many indoor and outdoor games provided by the host! The decor is very nicely done for the comfort of all your guests. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of pans, dishes, plates, drink ware, cookware, etc. and the many cooking utensils you may need. We would definitely return! The only recommendation is to make sure you have supplies for the outdoor summer gnats in the evening. Wonderful memories were made! Thank you for sharing your home!

Unfortunately, our stay was not a pleasant experience. The door locks did not work properly, and the front door never opened using the provided access code, which was very inconvenient. The listing stated that the property could sleep 15 guests, but there were not enough beds to comfortably accommodate everyone. On top of that, the toilet clogged the very first time we used it.Overall, there were several basic issues that made our stay frustrating and uncomfortable. We expected the property to be ready and functional based on the listing, but unfortunately, that was not our experience.

Thank you for the feedback, Nevil! We apologize for the issue with the front door lock during your stay. The lock has since been completely replaced, and that issue is resolved. For future guests, the home does accommodate up to 15 guests, and our listing clearly details each bedroom, bed, and sleeping arrangement so groups can determine whether the setup works for them before booking. If you would like additional sleeping arrangements, guests are welcome to bring their own on top of what we provide! Regarding the toilet, we inspected it following the stay and found it flushing and draining normally with no clog present. We appreciate the feedback and will continue addressing issues promptly to ensure the home is ready and comfortable for our guests.

Wonderful place to stay! The view of the sunrise alone is enough reason to stay here. The rooms were clean, the kitchen was fully stocked, the house had everything we needed so we didn’t have to make any store runs. I just wish we stayed here over the summer so we could go down by the lake but there was more than enough activities to do in the house that kept everyone entertained.

Beautiful location, well maintained property. We loved all the little additional items provided by the host that makes staying and traveling to a rental property easy (soaps, towels, coffee, games/game room, good quality linens). Host was communicative, easy to access the property, and overall great experience.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this property. The hosts were readily available to answer any questions and communication. The home had everything you could need and more. We had a comfortable and relaxing stay which allowed us to have quality time with our family. The Rec Room in the basement and all of the games and blocks kept all the kids in our family happily occupied. The home felt like a home away from home but with the most breathtaking views at all times of the day and being just steps from the beach was wonderful even at this time of year. We cannot say enough positive things and would love to come back and stay again!

Spacious rental in Newton, WI

My family and I enjoyed staying at this rental property. We very much appreciated the privacy of the location and beach access. Everything was very well maintained inside and out with plenty of room through out the house (bedrooms, kitchen and living room, all were spacious). Beds were comfortable and clean. Kitchen was fully equipped, and lots of extras (indoor games, kayak, paddle board, lawn toys, lots of outdoor seating). Beach was very private with lots of room to spread out. Would rent here again.

Lovely

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend here. The house is just as described, and the perfect amount of space for us (3 adults and 6 kids). We loved the big backyard, all the games, and the proximity to the beach (there are quite a few stairs to get there which was a bit hard for my mother but no problem for the rest of us). The view from the house is just spectacular. We were wishing the weather was warmer so we could use the kayaks, but we had a great time walking the beach looking for sea glass. Communication with the host was excellent.

Overall, we (8 adults and 1 infant) were disappointed in this house based upon what is advertised.PROs: You definitely get privacy with your own personal beach area. The backyard is large as depicted (see below about bugs). The bedrooms in the house are all good sized, especially the primary bedroom.CONs: Unfortunately, the prior guests trashed the house before we arrived. The cleaning person did the best she could, but this impacted our trip. We arrived at check-in time of 4pm (after long flights and long drives) but had to wait outside while she continued to clean until 5:30pm.There are stains in the carpet, the dishwasher was broken, as was a shelve in the refrigerator. Those issues may have been the fault of the prior guests, but generally speaking, the appliances in the house are dated. The backyard was trashed (I actually cleaned up trash and debris in the backyard while the cleaning person continued inside). The backyard also smelled like there is a septic problem. There is also a bug/ant problem inside and outside. Yes, I understand renting a house near a lake can come with unwanted pests. However, the situation at this house was unbelievably awful at night with the bugs, and it appears the owners do really nothing to mitigate it, except give you a Zevo plug-in bug zapper for inside the house. They really need to put multiple bug zappers outside the house on lawn.We made the best of it and enjoyed being together as a family, but clearly overpaid for this property.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry the condition left by the prior guests resulted in a delayed check-in. Our team worked hard to get the home ready as quickly and thoroughly as possible, but we understand how frustrating that was after a long day of travel. For future guests, the dishwasher has since been repaired, and we have confirmed there are no issues with the septic system, which is professionally serviced and pumped annually. We also have a professional pest company routinely treat the property for mosquitoes and other pests. Being directly on Lake Michigan, seasonal lake flies can unfortunately be very active at night. They do not bite, and unlike mosquitoes, there is no effective treatment that eliminates them from a waterfront property. We appreciate the feedback and will continue doing everything we reasonably can to maintain and improve the home and provide our guests with a great stay.

Lake Life Home Away from Home

We had a wonderful stay. The property was beautiful. Tim has created a relaxing lake retreat that accommodates the whole family. We had 3 generations staying together, including a toddler. There was plenty to do, including toys for the kiddo. We really enjoyed sitting out by the fire, going to the beach, and spending time on the lawn with lawn games. There was a full game room that we didn’t even use because there was so much available. The amenities were great and exactly as described, and the house was clean. It was large and provided enough room for everyone, including a nice bunk room that was well separated from the house to allow for adults to be up and enjoying the evening, while the kiddo slept. We were able to cook full meals because the kitchen was fully stocked. Tim was very responsive and responded within minutes any time that we reached out. We would highly recommend a lake life getaway at Tim’s place!

This property was very nice.....gorgeous backyard....lots of outdoor "toys" and areas to be active. Beds were comfortable, clean and included everything we needed. Family room was comfortable. Kids enjoyed the games provided in the "game room" on the lower level. Kitchen area was adequate. Only 1 kitchen towel when we got there but host did send over extra towels which we greatly appreciated. We were disappointed in the beach area and used it very little because it was dirty (should have been raked for debris). Garage floor was very dirty (should have been blown out or swept). We did not know about the lake flies that covered the door, screens, handles at dusk. And many got inside the house/ceiling. We have stayed on Lake Michigan for the past 7 years (on the Michigan side) but decided we would try the Wisconsin side since many of us are from Wisconsin. Our grandchildren love the waves of Lake Michigan and we normally spend many hours/day at the beach. This year was different because of the debris in the water, etc. We will probably consider going back to the beach on the Michigan side in the future. Thank you for the accomodations.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the backyard, game room, and family-friendly amenities. Our cleaners thoroughly prepared the home, and as a self-catering property, we provide a standard set of kitchen towels, with extras available upon request. The garage floor has been addressed for future stays. The beach and surrounding area are naturally influenced by winds and lake conditions, which can occasionally cause debris or lake flies at dusk. We appreciate your insights and hope to host you again.

The air conditioning was excellent. Everyone had space to move about. We enjoyed the large yard and multiple things to do! The kitchen was stocked with quality utensils.
