Reviewer Comments: it was fabulous being at OBX - the house was at a great location - was saddened that one house was condemned by a recent storm and hope others will not be. Keeping the kitchen so well stocked that we did not really need to bring our stuff. I would come back again during off season.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The roads were closed and we could not get there. I have still not heard from the insurance. I am very upset with this trip. No one has let me know anything. I can not answer this survey about the conditions of the house as the coastal storm prevented me from getting there. When you are on vacation, you cannot wait to have roads open up. Townhouses were falling into the ocean at Buxton.

Another successful vacay week in Buxton

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As always we enjoyed our week at the beach. This years highlights included a little more rain than usual and extra entertainment aka dredging operations. We were very fortunate that our part of the beach was not taken over until our departure day so only had to deal with unusually dirty water when the pipes were wide open. This is our 5th season at Lighthouse View and our 2nd at Beach Retreat. Appreciate the staff who were quick to respond to AC dilemma. Highly recommend location and value as always.

The Beach Retreat cottage was ready for us, all clean and tidy, our home away from home. I would love to be able to find an armchair like the one in the living room! The kids have dubbed it “mom’s chair”. The location is great. The group of kids we take down, my sons and their friends, love that there is good eating, great breakfast goodies, groceries, and shopping within walking distance. The beach is great as is the pool and a big favorite is the hot tub time in the evening before calling it a night! We have been going down for years now and love it every year. We come home relaxed and we’ll fed. The restaurants are fantastic. The thing that always surprises me is that despite the fact that we’re only there once a year, folks remember you! Everyone is so friendly! If you’re looking for a great, really nice, comfortable, and affordable place to stay, this is it. The office staff is very helpful with whatever you might need. Give it a try. You’ll like it!

Beautiful location!

Stay was great! Enjoyed the beach house and convenience of the private beach and community pool. Beach house was the standard clean and had all the kitchen appliances you could need. There is a small roach problem on the balcony and outside and 1-2 ventured into the house but nothing crazy. TV in one of the bedrooms had a slight glitch probably an easy fix we didn’t complain because my daughter watched tv in the living room. But overall we enjoyed ourselves.
