The cottages at Mauna Olu are a newly developed family oriented gated community with 24 hour security on Oahu's famous West Side.  The 26 acre community features 118 homes situated within the breathtaking Makaha Valley, and is located at the foot of Mount Ka'ala of the Waianae Mountain Range, the tallest mountain on Oahu.  Makaha Valley is one of the largest on the leeward coast. Mauna Olu is the perfect getaway from urban city life, ideal for enjoying peaceful starry nights and a resort-like ambiance while preserving a cozy home away from home feeling. World famous Makaha Beach known for its world class surfing is a mere 5 minutes away and frequently boasts some of the best weather on Oahu.  It's also known for incredible snorkeling and scuba diving as well when the waters are calm. The westside of Oahu is home to some of the most beautiful white sand beaches on earth frequented by countless pods of dolphins. At the Makaha Valley Country Club you can play at an exclusive golf course located at the base of the Waianae mountains.  Known for its varied challenging course and breathtaking elevation changes, it is one of the most enjoyable courses in the island chain to improve one's golf skills. Numerous outdoor hikes abound throughout the area, which are sure to delight any outdoor enthusiast.  Perhaps the most famous is the Kaena Point state park, a bird sanctuary hike at the westernmost tip on Oahu, known for having some of the biggest waves on earth! In Hawaiian lore, it's known as a jumping off place for souls to enter the afterlife...  You can definitely feel the mana (power) everywhere here!  When a taste of the city life calls, Makaha is 16 miles away from the urban offerings of Kapolei, home to such exciting attractions like the waterpark, Ko Olina golf course and the Disney Aulani resort and its multiple shops and restaurants.  There is no shortage of excitement in store for the entire family!

Step outside your door and enjoy access to the community’s exclusive recreation center—just a short walk away. Relax in the hot tub, take a dip in the swimming pool, or stay energized in the fully equipped fitness room. All this within the comfort and security of our beautiful gated community.

-Please respect our quiet hours between 9:00 pm and 8:00 am, to maintain the serenity of our
residential community
- Parties, events, or large gatherings are not allowed.
-Self-check-in is via a smart lock, and we also provide a separate lockbox for emergency access.
-Guests have access to the entire house and huge private backyard.

Other Things To Note:
-For guests traveling from out of town, please note that Kapolei, with amenities such as Costco, Target,
and shopping malls, is 14 miles away. A rental car is recommended for convenient and timely travel.
-A golf course is just a short ten-minute walk from our home, located near the guard shack.
-World-famous Makaha beach is merely a five-minute drive down the valley.
