I gave 1 star because ZERO was not an option. Here is a cautionary tale for future guests. BeachView rentals manages this property and I would not recommend their services and maliciously misleading listings to my worst enemy. We booked this property for a long weekend in August and walked in to find an indoor temperature of 90F. This property has no air conditioning! Their emergency line informed us that this rental company would not allow or offer a portable A/C unit. We called the following morning to complain and they clearly admitted they had received multiple complaints in the past about the same problem. Here is how they handled it. The disclaimer about not having A/C can be found only if you scroll several pages down, from the general description of the property, well beyond where most potential guests would continue to read. I don’t know about you guys but, same as many previous guests, I took for granted that a rental at the end of August in SoCal would, no doubt, have A/C or would otherwise CLEARLY state they had none in the first page of their listing. Any honest company who received multiple complaints about the lack of air conditioning would not bank on most guests taking air conditioning for granted and would make sure their potential guests find this crucial piece of information at the beginning of the property description and NOT buried several pages down. No one in his right mind would rent this property in August without A/C.Well played Beachview Rentals!!
