Better than the pictures

Don’t let the pics make you pass up this place! Was pleasantly surprised when we opened the door. It was clean and plenty of room. Neighbors were super friendly and so close to the beach! Would definitely stay here again!

Great Value in a Great Location

Truth be told, I did not have high expectations going in -- I knew I was renting in an older building and all I really cared about was that the place was clean and reasonably well maintained. What I got was so much more. The property was immaculately clean when I arrived. I have been vacationing in OC forever, and when I go, I expect that I will need to do some cleaning wherever I stay when I arrive. How much cleaning I need to do depends on the unit and the cleaning service the management company uses, but I always feel like I need to do some clean up upon arrival at most rental condos. Here, I walked in and found the place spotless. Even the interior of the refrigerator was spotless. No sand left behind anywhere. No fallen hairs in the bathroom. Just cleanliness everywhere. That alone was 5 star worthy. The bed was very comfortable, which surprised me also because I could tell from photos that the living room furniture was dated. I expected a lumpy or hard bed as a result but it was so comfy. Even the living room furniture, though dated, was more than adequate for my daughter and myself. The tv was literally ancient, but we had wifi and a laptop, and since we have hulu, amazon prime, and several other streaming services, it made no difference to us. The beach is literally steps away. The second floor location did afford a partial view to the ocean, also good enough for us...we don't spend time on the balcony, we'd rather be on the beach itself. Because there weren't tons of high rises in the vicinity, the beach never felt crowded...it was heaven! There is no elevator, but who needs one when you only have one flight of stairs to climb? My only critique, and it is minor, is that the unit is cooled by two wall unit air conditioners (wall, not window). This meant it was a little noisier than central AC, and there was a slight smell...not musty or moldy, and I can't quite describe it, but I think it was related to the AC units, but honestly you don't even notice it after 10 minutes. If you are looking for brand new, plush accommodations, this isn't the place for you. But if you are looking for a very well-priced, and obviously well loved comfortable 1-bedroom condo, this is a great choice. I would stay again with no hesitation.

Basic, convenient, and affordable.

We found the second floor apartment to be convenient to the beach and to include all the basics for two people. Perfect for a week's stay for a couple. The furnishings are older/dated but appear to be clean enough. Pluses: location, parking space, nice + basic full kitchen, lots of budget-quality dishes & utensils (but the selection is random), washer/dryer, vacuum cleaner, many clothes hangers, outdoor hose + foot shower, partial view of ocean, comfortable living room. The mgt company gives good directions and fairly sound advice on what you'll need to bring - and you will need to bring, rent or buy all your own linens and towels and basic housekeeping supplies. Minuses: noisy window A.C. units and bathroom fan; some lights/switches didn't work; WiFi and cable were glitchy (we didn't really care about cable and would have preferred to have use of the space taken up by the large not-flat TVs!); there was a broom but no dustpan (?); limited closet and drawer space; bedroom is cramped and dark (but who spends much time there on a beach vacation?); hot water is set to a relatively low temp; narrow concrete steps to upper units. This is meant to be a positive review, of course, and if you are not looking for perfection and don't need to be right ON the beach, this is a great value.

Near Perfect...

Other than the ‘furnishings’ and ‘blinds’ needed updated, this is the place to stay - especially if you want to be literally 50 steps from the beach! Great location, for both to the beach and shopping needs as well! I would stay here again, as the place comes completely furnished! The Office staff at Holiday was great!

Location was perfect!

Only complaint was a loud exhaust fan in the bathroom and it smelled of moth balls. Regardless of that though we loved it! I would stay here again!

Overall a value

Cons: The wifi did not work in the bedroom. The pots and pans were scratched teflon. No spatula, very limited cooking utensils. Pro: Great location, oceanside block, new kitchen cabinets and counter tops.Secured wifi in the living room. Management company is very responsive. They brought me a new set of pots and pans (cheap teflon, ugh), replaced burned out track light. Tip: bring your own pots and pans.
