We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful beach-facing property. The location was fantastic, with gorgeous views and easy access to the beach. The property was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and everything we needed was provided. Waking up to the ocean view every morning was definitely a highlight. The host was friendly, responsive, and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it!

Very clean, well appointed place on Puako Beach Rd. The owners live on site and are very available for any questions and/or issues but are not intrusive in any way to the experience of being in the rental unit. We would stay there again!

We loved our stay in Puako and did not want to leave. The house is so comfortable! The kitchen was fully equipped and we loved eating all our meals on the front porch where you can see the ocean through the trees. We went to hapuna beach and snorkeled at the end of the road. At low ride we walked along the rocks at the beach by the general store and saw so many turtles, we lost count. We also took a night manta ray snorkel from the harbor 10 minutes away. We definitely want to come back! The hosts are super nice and responsive.

A perfect spot to enjoy everything this area has to offer. Walking distance to the beach at Puako and a short hop to several others including Hapuna. The onsite laundry and beach supplies are a huge plus. It’s perfect for a couple or family of 4, it it would be a bit intimate for two adult couples. The kitchen is great and if I stayed again, I’d have had more on hand to cook in the evenings since the dining options in the area are limited. Good options, but just require more driving. This really is a fantastic spot if you’re looking for great beaches and snorkeling.

Loved everything, especially the shower! Kyla and James were perfect hosts. The beds are comfortable; the apartment is light and airy and the kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils one might need. We had our meals on the deck every day!

Our family of five loved our recent stay. The place was exceptionally clean, beds were comfy, towels were nice, kitchen equipment more than adequate. It was nice to have laundry, parking, and a lanai. The location is amazing with shoreline access along Puako bay and a little store in walking distance for treats. All but one shoreline access has a rocky entry but we were able to enter (with teens) and access amazing snorkeling. Gorgeous sunset views from access a 2-3 min walk away. Partial ocean view/ sunset view from lanai.

Perfect place in paradise for our party of four. From pre-arrival to checkout, our hosts were great. The house had all the beach extras like towels and chairs. We look forward to a future stay.

Comfortable and clean home in a great location. Lots of beach access points within walking distance. Nice kitchen with sharp knives, good gas grill and plenty of plates, glasses, bowls.The bedrooms have AC but we didn’t need them. All the windows have screens and there’s a great breeze. Loved our stay!

We had such a wonderful stay! This was a truly enjoyable stay from start to finish. The house is newly renovated, beautifully done, and incredibly comfortable. It felt welcoming the moment we arrived.The hosts were amazing, responsive, friendly, and genuinely helpful. When we realized the kitchen was out of coffee filters and mentioned it, they delivered them within 30 minutes. That level of care was truly appreciated.We absolutely recommend this place and would love to stay again!

The property is accurately described in the listing. The location is remote and quiet. You are still driving distance to restaurants/grocery stores, but this does feel like a private oasis. You are also 5 min drive to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

We so enjoyed our stay in Puako. The property is beautiful with beach access within steps. We enjoyed watching the sunsets on the beach and from the lanai. Kyla was a great host. Would definitely stay here again!

Puako perfection

Beautiful, clean, quiet getaway close to fantastic beaches, the island's best angling spot, and stocked with thoughtful amenities in the kitchen and snorkel gear/beach chairs/etc. A gem of a spot.

It is ideally situated for travelers seeking a quiet retreat on the west side of the Big Island without the atmosphere of a large resort. The home is within walking distance of the beach and exceptional snorkeling and diving spots, and only a short drive from some of the island’s best restaurants and golf courses.The unit is thoughtfully equipped with everything a couple or small family might need for a relaxing stay. The kitchen is spotless and fully stocked, and the property includes air conditioning (though the ocean breeze often makes it unnecessary), in‑unit laundry, Roku TV, fast internet, strong water pressure, and a spacious shower. The surrounding grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The onsite hosts are attentive and readily available should any needs arise.

Excellent location, within easy walking distance to the General Store that offers limited groceries, sandwiches, the best chocolate chip Mac nut cookies. The location is also across from the beach, with easy public access. The air conditioning window units in the bedrooms were appreciated. Things to note, the laundry room is on the ground level in the “garage” and is shared with the owners that live onsite in a separate unit . Kyla and James were extremely respectful of our privacy and were quick to solve the problem of a cracked coffee carafe.

We loved are stay, great location. The house was super clean and had everything we desired. A full kitchen, comfy beds, a patio, and walking access to the beach. Especially enjoy eating our breakfast and dinners each day on the front patio while listening to the ocean. Thank you.

A perfect vacation

The Puako neighborhood is quiet with great access to a snorkeling reef teaming with wildlife a young turtles. We watched sunsets over the water and thoroughly enjoyed the proximity to the water. Our accommodations were top notch. The bungalow was cool (lots of ceiling fans) and had everything we needed. It’s well setup for a family of 4 or 2 couples and has everything you need to enjoy Hawaii.

Best VRBO ever!

Puako Kai Hideway was everything we needed and more! Quiet, immaculate, plenty of space, close proximity to all the beautiful beaches (turtle beach and Wailea are the best!) Our visit was special due to family circumstances, and our hosts Kyla and Jamie were so welcoming and accommodating. We plan to return next year and cannot wait! Puako Kai Hideaway is our new home away from home!
