We had an absolutely wonderful stay! Lovely home in Massanutten with a very easy drive to JMU where we came for a football game. Very clean with everything you need being away from home. Will absolutely keep this property saved for future visits. Thank you!

The house was nice and close to massanutten. I did find a pair of used socks (ew) under the covers on my second night in the master bedroom , which means sheets were never changed after their last guest. I was very disappointed about that after spending almost 1000 on our stay.

Lovely base camp for mountain getaway

Elk House is spacious and clean—we enjoyed yoga in the sun room, grilling on the porch, walks in the neighborhood, and hikes in the area. The house is well-located within Massanutten resort and is about 25 minutes from Harrisonburg, so there’s lots to do. The kitchen and pantry were well-stocked with coffee and other essentials. Carla was a gracious and responsive host. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Great spot at Massanutten for larger family gathering

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The location is fantastic—close to everything—and the home itself is spacious and comfortable, easily accommodating our group of 10, which included four kids, a dog, and five adults. The open layout made it easy for everyone to spread out and relax.The host was very welcoming and provided clear, easy-to-follow instructions for all the little details around the house, which made our stay stress-free.There are just a few small areas for improvement, particularly for larger groups like ours. It would be great to have a few more essentials, like extra towels, plates, and bowls, to better accommodate groups of 8-10 people.Overall, it was a great experience, and we really enjoyed our time here.

I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and i certainly appreciate your feedback. As for the inadequate amount of towels and bowls, I left plenty dishwashing tabs and laundry detergent for the guests to always have clean bowls, plates, and towels.

Generally good

This property is a great location and has had some really wonderful updates done to it. Beds are comfortable and porch was amazing. It’s clean and very minimalist. But almost too minimalist- no bedside stands, no bathroom products (shampoo, soap, etc). Once we arrived and got settled, owner communicated. Her policy is give out door code right before check in. However, a touch base email stating that would have been helpful and alleviated last minute anxiety. We are 3 hours away so hearing nothing until 20 minutes before check-in was a bit too late IMO.

Thank you for your review. As for soap, there is a bottle of liquid soap in all three bathrooms, and there are at least four bars of soap under the sink of the master bathroom. I made it clear from the beginning thar I provide everything except shampoo because you are renting an Airbnb and not a hotel, and people usually have their preference for their own shampoo. Also, all three bedrooms have bedside tables, so I don't know how you can say there were none.

unpleasant travel destination

I received an email saying that they would tell me the password for the reserved house 30 minutes before check-in, but I was worried that the internet might not work at the destination, so I checked the email and left for the destination.Usually, you have to tell them the day before the trip, right?Also, the house hadn't been cleaned at all, so there was a lot of dust, there was poop in the toilet, and the bedding hadn't been washed, so there was a lot of hair and dog hair on it.I've traveled a lot, but this is the first time I've seen such a dirty house.

This house was cleaned from top to bottom with no dust anywhere, not even a speck. Also, I sent you the check-in instructions one hour prior to your check-in, so that is another falsehood on your part. As the Elk House is a dog-friendly property, it is very possible that you might have found a dog hair and that you would understand this, especially since you brought a pet yourself. This review is unwarranted, and you are certainly not welcome back, and I will warn others in the community of the online damage you have tried to cause.

This was such a wonderful stay. So even before booking Carla was AMAZING. She answered all of my questions and was very timely with her responses. There was no detail left out for accessing the property where things were located in the house and she provided us with the basis a for our stay. Now, the house.. beyond what we imagined. Everything so clean and neat the rooms are very spacious she also provided board games and uno cards for family fun. Our favorite part was the inclosed patio. I couldn’t get my nephew from back there, he literally slept there every night. I can’t enough good things about this property. If you are looking start booking!
