Come & enjoy a relaxing stay at the Bluebird Ridge cabin, located on the edge of Daniel Boone National Forest. The property is surrounded by pine trees to enjoy the peacefulness & nature. Enjoy a cup of coffee from the rocking chairs and bourbon by the fire at night. Swing and listen to the birds from the front porch.

Bluebird Ridge Cabin is less than 5 miles to several boat docks & Cave Run Lake. Avid hikers, climbers, fisherman, boaters, kayakers, adventures, & those just looking to get away & relax, this place is for you!! 30 minutes from Red River Gorge and 45 from the Natural Bridge! Carve run dam, Minor Clark Hatchery, Broke Leg Falls, Twin Knobs beach, and plenty of trails! Morehead is 30 minutes away where you can hang out at their microbrewery, stop at Root-a-bakers for the best baked goods, and have dinner before heading back to the cabin.

Please remember this is a cabin, surrounded by woods, in rural KY Appalachia. It is possible to encounter bugs, snakes, bears, other wildlife & outdoor dogs barking. Spiders may be occasionally inside the cabin but we do our best to keep it treated & very clean from cobwebs. * It is a one lane road, about .5 miles to get back to the cabin.*

Such a great find for our vacation! Cabin had everything we needed, was comfortable and perfect place to do some R&R. Zella was very helpful when it came to recommendations, but also when we decided to extend our stay for another night. Location was convenient, especially access to Cave Run Lake, Morehead and getting down to Red River Gorge. We would definitely recommend this cabin and would stay again!

Got to the cabin and the AC was broke. Fourth of July weekend and we had nowhere to stay. We waited for hrs to see if she could get it fixed and even after they fixed it it was super hot there so we didn't stay cause she said she wouldn't charge us. Then after we leave the area she tells me she is not refunding our money. I guess money is important to some people.

We're sorry your arrival was impacted by an unexpected air conditioning malfunction. Within five minutes of being notified on July 2, we initiated an emergency service call, and a HVAC technician repaired the unit that same evening. The technician was able to advise of repair & the unit was operating as it should. Because the cabin needed time to cool after the repair, we voluntarily refunded your first night's stay as a courtesy. Once the air conditioning was restored and the cabin was habitable, a full refund was no longer applicable to the situation. The remaining four nights of your reservation were available for use. You could have either returned to complete your stay or advised us that you wished to cancel the remainder of your reservation. After the repair, we had the HVAC technician return the next morning, to verify the system was continuing to cool properly. We checked in regarding your plans and asked whether you intended to return or cancel the remainder of your reservation. When we were unable to reach you, VRBO also tried to make contact by phone and email with no success. We did not receive a response until after 4:00 p.m. on July 4. Because the reservation was never canceled during your stay, the remaining nights continued to be held for your reservation and could not be made available to other travelers while we awaited your decision. We understand how disappointing an unexpected maintenance issue can be, but we believe it's important that future guests know the issue was resolved promptly on the day of arrival, the affected first night was refunded as a goodwill gesture, updates were shared during the situation, and every reasonable effort was made to communicate and reach a fair resolution.

This was by far my best stay in Wellington. Beautifully appointed, very clean, no carpet, no problems. Very nice hosts. Will definitely return since we have family in the area.

A perfect weekend away

We had an amazing weekend getaway in this gorgeous cabin away from all the worries of the city! Close to so many great hikes and beautiful places and the host was so communicative and perfect and even had little personal touches and warm pieces to the property that we will recommend the property to others in the future!

The cabin is beautiful and very cozy! It is so perfectly designed and decorated. The cabin was very clean. The privacy is perfect and I especially loved rocking on the back porch in the morning, while sipping hot coffee and birdwatching. Both coffee and bird seed were compliments of Zella! Beds were comfortable and we felt right at home! Our dog, Bruno, was very comfortable as well and he loved his welcome treat!

Our stay at the Bluebird Ridge was amazing. It was just what we needed. We hiked everyday and had a wonderful fenced balcony to enjoy every morning coffee with our King Charles Cavalier and to sit and wind down after making dinner each evening. The kitchen had pretty much everything you would need. If you like to cook with garlic, bring a garlic press. That is the only thing we didn’t have and that wasn’t a big deal. The beds were comfortable and the home was very clean and decorated nicely. Zella was very quick to respond to questions and assist as needed. The accommodations were just perfect for us. We would highly recommend! On a different note, If you are planning a lot of hikes, it is a good idea to plan your itinerary so you see and do as much as you like. Get some maps and use all trails app to help plan. One more thing…Zella suggested we go to Root-a-bakers in Morehead and am I ever glad that we did. All of the food we ordered was DELICIOUS! We met Lana, the owner and she was lovely. Thank you Zella for being a wonderful host!
