Surrounded by trees and nature, the cabin is a peaceful home base for relaxing lake days, hiking trips, fishing, and quiet evenings outdoors. You’ll be just minutes from Cave Run Lake, Daniel Boone National Forest, and scenic trails, with Red River Gorge close enough for a day trip.

Inside, the cabin offers a comfortable living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, one bathroom on the main floor, and two upstairs bedrooms. Smart TVs are available in the living room and both bedrooms. The main floor features a gas fireplace, mini-split air conditioning, and baseboard heating, while both bedrooms include baseboard heaters and portable air conditioners.

Outside, enjoy the large deck overlooking the forest — perfect for morning coffee, outdoor meals, or unwinding after a day at the lake. A carport is available for guest use, and the spacious gravel parking area offers enough room for a boat trailer.

Shady Lane Hideaway is best suited for guests who enjoy a quiet, wooded setting and want a clean, comfortable place to stay while exploring Cave Run Lake, the surrounding forest, and the natural beauty of Eastern Kentucky.

Important things to know before booking:

The cabin is not wheelchair accessible. To reach the house, guests must go down a set of stairs from the parking area. The staircase to the two upstairs bedrooms is steep and may not be ideal for guests with mobility concerns or very young children.

The bathroom is located on the main floor, while both bedrooms are upstairs.

Because the cabin is located in a wooded natural setting, mosquitoes and other insects may be present, especially during the warmer months. We recommend bringing mosquito repellent in summer. Regular inspections and treatments are conducted, but occasional insects may still appear inside the house due to the forested location.
