The booking process and communication with the owner ahead of time was easy. There was plenty of parking. Upon pulling up to the property, it was not what we expected. The exterior of the house was messy and disorganized. There was junk thrown on the ground around the property, even a washer and dryer outside in the driveway. It looked messy and uninviting. We walked around the front of the house and found the same thing. All beach chairs were rusted, dirty, and thrown aimlessly underneath the front porch. Nothing was organized or in proper working order. We couldn’t have sat outside by the grill if we wanted to because the entire area was overgrown. When we entered the house, there was an odd chemical smell inside the home. We wanted to get some fresh air so we opened the slider to the deck and the sliding screen door immediately came off the tracks and fell down. We went back inside and a curtain holder with screws fell out of the wall and onto the floor. We entered the kitchen and a kitchen tile was broken into many small pieces. As we walked throughout the rest of the house we discovered many loose door knobs, leaking faucets, a slow draining tub in the master with a stuck drain opening knob. We were quite disappointed with the condition of the home. It has a lot of potential but needs some serious TLC. The whole property just felt neglected. We weren’t expecting that and have definitely experienced significantly better conditions at other Jersey Shore rentals.
