Lovely Place

For hikers/skiiers, this is a great place. Close to all the hiking trails and ski runs. Davis is a short drive for a good grocery store. The house itself is tranquil and tucked back in the valley. Clean and plenty of room for a family. Beds were comfortable and well appointed. Perfect choice!

Excellent Location & House

This was a spectacular property! We spent Labor day weekend here. The kitchen was well stocked, had all utensils and it was very clean. Hot tub was very clean and amazing, kids enjoyed the hot tub and also they were able to ride their bikes around the neighborhood. It was quiet and out of the way. It was 12 minutes from Blackwater falls and easy to go around. Very scenic and relaxing place. The place was very well kept. The porch swing was amazing to just sit and relax. We all loved the house very much <3

Family Holiday Weekend

This was a spectacular property! We spent Thanksgiving weekend here. The kitchen was well stocked, enough to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner! The kids were able to ride their bikes around the neighborhood. It was quiet and out of the way. Short drive to Thomas and/or Davis. Greatly enjoyed our time at Blackwater Falls. The place was very well clean and well kept. Even had a maintenance man come for a minor repair on Thanksgiving day.

Wonderful Stay!

From the moment we checked in to the time we checked out, everything was perfect! We have been coming to Canaan for years at various homes and this is one of the most well equipped, clean homes and we couldn't be happier. We lacked nothing including crockpots, griddles and so many pans! We did buy an ice cream scoop and left it. Bonus.... Our hosts even left bandaids, Tylenol, wet wipes, toothbrushes and many more extras if we needed them. It was quiet and peaceful allowing us to enjoy the valley. We will look into this place next year (unless we bring our entire family!) Thank you and I hope others enjoy it as we did!

It didn't have a 3rd level (basement) with rec room like other houses, which wasn't a problem for 2 families (though more than that, I think we'd want it). The flat terrain and ample snow was great for kids play, and the interior was well appointed (though better cookware would have been a nice upgrade). We didn't get to try the hottub. Our only real complaint was the abundance of cool white light bulbs throughout which should absolutely be changed out for warm white. The chair legs seem like they were about ready to break off--and I'm glad they didn't on our visit! Otherwise great place!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I'm much more of a beach person, but we gave the mountains a try. We enjoyed the house, very comfortable beds, couches not so much and TV channel offerings were terrible, frustrating even. I was confused by the coffee pot situation and having to drive your trash to a dumpster was not ok. The porch was enjoyable as well the hot tub, but there was just not enough in the area for us to come back to, in the summer anyway.
