Yes! Actual Pretty Boy Floyd Hideout, corroborated by eye witnesses at the time on tape! He walked in the now Key bank in Sylvania, Ohio with Michigan license plates and robbed the bank, got away, and this was his hideout! He was later caught in Toledo, Ohio and sentenced to 12-15 years in the Columbus Ohio State penitentiary. On the train ride down he jumped out the bathroom window of the moving train and went on to rob banks for another 4 years. Public enemy #1 ambiance of most famous gangster

A lovely weekend get away

We had an amazing time at the Pretty boy Floyd hideout in Luna Pier. The house was so cool, it was fun walking around inside and reading all about Pretty boy Floyd. Check in and check out was a breeze, and the owners were so communicative they left no guess work to the process. Luna Pier is absolutely stunning, even in December. We enjoyed walking around the local establishments, everyone was so kind and welcoming! We will definitely be back. Highly recommended this host!

Loved the history

Packed full of history, our teen grandsons loved it. We spent a couple of days, enjoyed the beach and the small village. Appreciated the surprise snacks and great hospitality. Beds were comfortable. Antique furniture was pretty cool. Like stepping back in time. Loved the food at the Beach Cafe and the hometown feel.

Fun Spot, Great Rate

We needed a place for the weekend while we were in town. Views of the lake, walking distance to great food, and such neat history were all cherries on top! The host was very accommodating and easy to contact. Such a neat little house!

Perfect Vacation Spot

Had everything you need for the stay. Is close to the beach, bars, and restaurant that are in walking distance. Would highly recommend especially if you’re into history and the sights that are offered. Also if you manage to adventure out a little further, the Toledo Art Museum is definitely worth checking out with only paying a $10 parking fee for entry!

Great stay in Luna Pier

This is the place that Pretty Boy Floyd stayed when he was in MI. So, we knew the furniture and place was in that older setting. It was very cool and just like the pictures. Perfect for 2 people and if you do t mind the extra bedroom being connected to the main bedroom in the loft, you could have a 2 couples or a family. It’s right next to Luna Pier cafe, which was fun. They had a band on Saturday night but by 10:30 the music wrapped up, so that was nice. It was super clean. The owner was very responsive.

Great location!

Booking was easy and quick. We had an amazing time. The restaurant next door had just closed down for the winter season so it was nice and quiet in the town. Almost felt like a small town you would see in a Hallmark Christmas movie. If you love history or staying by the lake at a great price this is the place for you.

Nice Little Piece of History

Was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this place. It's right next to the pier and a bar/cafe so that's nice. It's clearly an old house but it's clear that they put care into the place. Those stairs are no joke though -- very narrow and a tight squeeze, unlike modern stairs. Reading the articles and snippets throughout the place was educational and fascinating.

Great Location, Great People, Great Weekend

This was our fourth stay! It's a great getaway and so close to the beach that we get the see the water at all times of the day. The café next door is one of our favorite places in Luna Pier so staying across the street is perfect.

Awesome location

Location is in credible!! Cleanliness neede a lot of attention, dust, cobwebs, bathroom was very clean!! Bed and bedding was sad!! Windows were so dirty you couldn’t see out of them!! A lot of the windows didn’t work!! Th place is very dark and furniture is uncomfortable!! You couldn’t ask for a better location, everything you need is within walking distance!! People are very friendly!!

Neat place

This is more for show vs a comfy place to stay. The furniture is for the period time but the couch was terribly uncomfortable and is really broke down in the Middle. The bed wasn't bad but it's real weird with the room inside another... Felt like you were trapped in that room.. Nice area

This was a very cool place to stay. Town was a little boring. Very small and not much to do, attraction wise. But a great place to really get away from it all. The locals were all very nice & helpful.

This was located right next to Luna pier cafe great food there prices are reasonable. Stove and refrigerator needed some cleaning but beds were comfortable. The beach was great.

Fun place to stay

We enjoyed our stay and loved learning about Pretty boy Floyd! We knew a little beforehand but not the whole wild story LOL. We went to Luna Pier Cafe both days we were there. The food and drinks were yummy! The locals are super nice. Unfortunately, a big storm rolled through and knocked out the power on our 2nd day but we made the best of it.

A niche niche

We enjoyed our time here. It is certainly a niche experience in a flat that is entirely themed around the infamous gangster Pretty Boy Floyd, but it was a perfect little niche for our family to spend our vacation in. Communication with Mike, the property owner, was as simple as possible and easily accessible through the VRBO message box in the app. Didn't have to wait more than 20 min or so for any response, but they were usually instantly responded to. This made check-in and check-out super easy - here's the code, grab the key, and enjoy your stay! Put the key back and don't leave a horrible mess on the way out. Couldn't have been simpler. The AC worked well (although on the warmer day of the week the upstairs unit was struggling a little). The hot water was seemingly instant. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. Great things, all. We also appreciated the location! Just a block to the beach and the lighthouse and fishing pier. It's walking distance to the local shop/convenience store, and the park across the street had a farmers market one day and flea market/swap meet another. It's also across the street from a bar/cafe and a block away from a sit down restaurant. Since the walls are old we could hear that music most evenings, but it wasn't obnoxious enough to keep us awake. Once we got there we had to sweep - the broken pieces of feathers from the duster gave an odd impression that a bird had been plucked in the apartment, a stray sock under the sofa was unappealing, and there were some cobwebs up the stairs and such to tidy. The front right burner coil on the stove also didn't work. But, again, we swept - problems solved (couldn't touch the old sock...), and we never needed more than one burner at a time so that one wasn't a problem. These didn't detract from the overall wonderful week of rest and refreshment we got. Plus, my inner history buff had fun finding all the little signs and articles all over with info about Pretty Boy Floyd and the other gangsters that were displayed in the flat.
