Ms. Celina Morgan-Standard (CMS) left out some important facts about her aborted stay and wrote a number of false or misleading comments, to which I respond below. I had not planned to comment on her, but her post calls for a response from me. 1. I checked with the previous tenants about the condition of the camp when they left. They said it was fine. No problems. The internet was working when they left. 2. CMS asked to arrive early at my place. I accommodated her. It turns out that this meant that my property manager was unable to wash the towels before she and her three children arrived. Otherwise, he and his crew did due diligence prior to CMS & family arrival. 3. I asked my property manager to buy new towels for her. He did, and arrived the next day with brand new towels. CMS found them unsatisfactory because they were new. She said they would be covered with chemicals and unsafe for her and her children. 4. The bathroom water was functional, just not at full flow. Previous renters did not complain about it, so I did not know about the problem. I asked my property manager to fix the problem, and he did so right away. 5. I contacted the internet provider when I found out it was not working the night of their arrival. It was to be corrected the next day. CMS left before it could be corrected and did not want to help in facilitating the fix, as she already had decided to leave. 6. CMS’s note about mold – written and submitted two months after her stay – is news to me. 7. I spoke to CMS a number of times on the phone. She threatened to seek reimbursement on the first or second phone call. I offered to partly reimburse her – mostly because of the towels, the internet, and her upset. She refused. She was uncooperative, unpleasant, and unreasonable. Although I never met CMS personally, my property manager did. He concurs with my impressions of CMS. I do not recommend ever renting to her.
