Unsere Familie verbrachte Jahre Camping. Wir immer gehofft, eines der Campingplätze neben dem Bach am Vogel State Park, so dass wir zu den Klängen der rauschenden Wasser entspannen zu bekommen. Dass nur selten passiert ist ...

Als meine Frau und ich älter wurde, bekamen wir müde von der zu Fuß zur gemeinsames Bad, lousy Duschen, Mangel an Privatsphäre, und die nicht so toll schlafen im Wohnmobil. Als unsere Kinder älter wurde, der Reiz der in einem Zelt ohne WiFi verblasst so brachen wir auf der Suche nach die nächste beste Sache, die uns um alle Vorteile der Outdoor Camping zu genießen, aber mit allem Komfort von zu Hause. Wir fanden es am River Run!

Wir haben uns für diese Eigenschaft, weil es sehr einzigartig und unglaublich entspannend ist. Das Anwesen befindet sich am Ende der eine Meile lang unbefestigte Straße auf einer Ebene 1 acre eingezäunten Grundstück befindet. Sie können einen oder beide Chalets je nach Bedarf mieten. Die überdachten Wrap-around-überdachten Veranden Metall sind nur einige Meter von der Nottely River. Sie können angeln, wandern, gehen Antiquitäten, am Feuer sitzen und lauschen Sie dem Fluss, Grill auf dem Grill, beobachten die Kühe über den Fluss, oder einfach nur auf der Veranda in die Wippen sitzen und genießen Sie die Sehenswürdigkeiten und Klänge von der Nottely River.

Die beiden Chalets bieten etwas für alle Mitglieder der Familie, um im Urlaub zu genießen:

• Kajak oder ein Rohr auf der Nottely River. Die Eigenschaft ist 2. 5 Meilen stromabwärts von Nottely dam. Sie können an der Basis der Staumauer in den Fluss zu bekommen.
• Mieten Sie ein Ponton-Boot am nahe gelegenen Nottely.

Overall a great place be mindful of road traveling in and out cars can access but very carefully as ground clearance is going to cause scraping along the way the higher the ground clearance the better you are suvs will have no issues other than that and that’s nothing major at all the place is fantastic beautiful river view from deck over river comfortable beds and very clean cabin. cabin is very cozy feeling like home away from home would recommend this place to anyone and very likely we stay again in the future!!!

Very pleasant visit. The river was very unpredictable which the host could have no control of. lol. I did expect to spend time floating and using it. It would rise very quickly and there was not an easy access to get in. But the chalet was wonderfully stocked and we had a great time playing games, ping pong, and air hockey.

We loved our stay. The homeowner was very quick to respond. Even brought us hand soap & batteries which I didn't expect. Easy to get to. Had everything we needed to he able to cook, grill or an open fire in the fire pit. We brought wood with us, but also plenty of broken branches in the yard to start a fire. We fished, played air hockey, ping pong & xbox. It was very relaxing & quiet. And the bed in the master was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. I wish I knew what mattress they had. The description of the home & long drive/gravel road was very accurate. We really enjoyed our long weekend getaway!

Everything we needed was there. Even a bottle opener. The host, Kevin, was so cool and prompt in calling with any questions or concerns. The property was beautiful!!! The home was SO comfortable including the bed. The wrap around porch and seating was perfect for listening and watching the river with morning coffee. My favorite part was the Brita water filter pitcher that was filled awaiting our arrival! Thank you! The Cherokee Fishing Trap was awesome to see.

Beautiful getaway

The property is beautiful and fantastic. It had everything we needed. The mile drive on the dirt road was a bit rough. We had had a great deal of rain the 24 hours prior to our departure and I was fearful the I would not be able to get out, but the road held up just fine!

Trout Chalet

My wife and I had a nice time. We enjoyed the river view very much. We also saw deer in the field, a momma with her baby. We read previous reviews and we were glad that we did, that could be a tough drive in the dark, so we were sure to get there before dark. The air hockey table and X-box kept us entertained on a rainy day. The chalet was very clean!!

A very tranquil and adventurous Getaway!

We had an amazing time at the Trout Chalet! The kids enjoyed the table games and puzzles while we were there.The fire pit in the evening was a delight and kept us warm while cooking marshmallows.The Notelly River was low tide the first day of so then it was high tide and running through the sounds of the water hitting the rocks or the low branches was very relaxing to hear.Kevin is a great host and very communicative as well. As per previous reviews the private road getting in to the property is a bit of a challenge and I’m glad we rented a Wagoneer that is an all wheel drive. Once you travel it a few times you get used to it.

GREAT WiFi - Great experience

The Trout Chalet was everything we had hoped it would be. The owners went above and beyond to warn us about potential road closures with Helene on the way. They made checking out early very easy. The river is beautiful and unfortunately we didn’t have time to fish. We were in town to work and the WiFi was perfect! other reviewers stated that you needed 4WD. We did have Jeeps. The locals have regulars cars and make it in and out every day. We didn’t think it was hard to find or difficult to get to. The cabin has everything stocked that you would ever need. For those who complained about the sheets, I would rather put on clean sheets than sleep in a bed in which the sheets may have been on for days if the cabin hasn’t been rented. We thought everything was perfect.

Beautiful location

The location is indeed beautiful. The road leading to the cabin is rugged, narrow and rough in places, but worth it if you have a SUV. Not so sure a regular vehicle would make it. The cabin was nice and clean. It does need some updates. If you’re interested in preparing your own meals, the cookware there is not recommended. The water smells of sulfur, but it is well water and hard. We had problems getting the door to unlock upon arrival and even after the owner having the batteries changed, the door never locked when we went out daily. It is a very safe area, but still…. The cabin is not luxury but adequate. The wood burning fireplace was a plus and we had a fire every morning and night. If you’re looking for a plush cabin this is not the place. If you’re looking for an affordable and comfortable place to stay while you spend the days exploring, this is the place. There are some repairs that need to be made. Some as simple as light bulbs in the laundry room and living area. The owner was quick to reply with the difficulties we had with the door lock and easy to deal with. We enjoyed our stay, the location was indeed beautiful but would we go back, unfortunately no.

The house was exactly as described, everything was clean and check in was a breeze. Extremely quiet and peaceful place to get away. Also just a short trip to town for necessities. Great place to stay while riding motorcycles. Would definitely stay again!

Our stay was nice and enjoyable. There were other people renting next door which was fine other than one lady occupying the gazebo overlooking the river the majority of the time. We were unable to enjoy it because she was on it continuously and wasn’t friendly at all. Maybe I am mistaken or maybe she thought it was part of their rental and not shared. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was adequately supplied, being able to use the washer and dryer were a plus. Only drawback was the narrow one mile driveway to the home. It was very rough. Definitely recommend an AWD or 4-wheel drive vehicle.

I am posting this only as for information to future elderly vacationers. As I am over 65. The road to the property is dirt and narrow, was no problem for my SUV , but I think it would be a tough drive if we had driven the typical sedan The second bedroom is upstairs so take your stair climbing into consideration. But if you are looking for a quiet relaxing space, this is it!. You do not have access down to the river but you have a great view from the deck over the water and from the porch. We enjoyed sitting, listening to the quiet and enjoying our morning coffee and aftersoon wine. ! Just so relaxing. Getting into a town was not an issue. There are a couple of eatery places within a couple miles(BBQ and breakfast) Driving into Murphy and Blue Ridge was not a problem. My only disappointment was I brought coffee for a Keurig, and the coffee maker needs filters and ground coffee.

Trout Chalet

We stayed two nights at the Trout Chalet. We enjoyed our stay. The river was beautiful and peaceful. The home was spacious and supplied all our needs. The negative was the dirt road entering the property. A 4- wheel drive should be recommended for this property. We got there without one but it was difficult. Also this is a one lane dirt road. If you meet a vehicle someone will have to backup. The shades in the downstairs of our chalet are not privacy anyone outside can see right in. The owner was quick to answer all my questions in email before we left. We enjoyed our stay.

Secluded and private

The cabin was very nice and comfortable. Location on the river was very nice. Enjoyed the fiver from the front porch. A few negatives, the one lane mostly dirt road was a little rough, the well water had a “ rotten egg” sulfur smell, the yard needed mowing.

Great view and stay

The stay in the chalet was great including the scenery and the space. There are some things that I didn’t quite agree with such as having to make the bed prior to laying in it, there were a lot of small rules that made check out a little stressful. Additional fees or description of the initial reservation seemed to change such as cleaning the bedding prior to leaving or no children being allowed. The instructions all over the home on paper were contradicting to what was left on the emailed instructions. Overall I would consider the stay here again, it was serene and my daughter enjoyed the goat farm and donkey as we road in and out of the dirt road.

Restful Existence

Absolutely the best cabin experience I have had thus far. The porch, rockers and hot coffee while watching the fog lift off of the river was extremely calming and thought provoking. The meadow is breathtaking and all I could do while walking through it was imagine ways that I could convince the owners that they should most definitely add me onto the property title (hehe). My two teenagers were engaged the entire time with the table games, river and sheep farm. My three year old played continuously outside and ran laps around the lush green yard. He chased lightning bugs and tossed many a stones into the river. My only regret is that we didn’t rent it longer. The owners were very clear and communicative from the very beginning. We hope to return again some day! Three items we thought you might like to know: 1) City folk might be alarmed at first by the dirt road that leads through and to the cabin. We were definitely caught off guard at first by the path that laid ahead of us, but after the first time we drove back and forth to town, it became apart of the adventure and fun in our trip. We have a small front wheel drive SUV and she did just fine getting over some of the bumps that we city slickers are not used to. 2) The river was much larger and powerful then we expected and we were shocked to see how much it receded after the generators were closed and no longer releasing water. We enjoyed being in the river so much! 3) If you are able to rent the other cabin with friends or family, that would probably be ideal. Thankfully we got along and enjoyed the company of the other family that was there, but I can see how it might be awkward or uncomfortable if you don’t mend with the other cabin dwellers.

Beautiful view of river

We enjoyed the house and especially the location on the river. Dinner or lunch on the gazebo or hanging out having some drinks looking across the river at the cattle across the way was a great experience at the property. If you have children this property is also ideal because there are plenty of things for the children to do including ping pong table and air hockey table. There’s also a separate house on the property if you have a larger family

Our family spent years camping. We always hoped to get one of the camp sites next to the creek at Vogel State Park so we could relax to the sounds of the rushing water. That rarely happened…

As my wife and I grew older, we got tired of the walk to the communal bathroom, lousy showers, lack of privacy, and the not so great sleep in the camper. As our kids grew older, the allure of sleeping in a tent with no WiFi faded so we set out in search of the next best thing that allows us to enjoy all of the outdoor benefits of camping, but with all the comforts of home. We chose this property because it is very unique and you will not find another like it to rent. The two chalets allows for all to enjoy the family vacation. The Trout House is designed like a giant game room with beds. It includes WiFi, Ping Pong, and air hockey. Got a moody teenager with friends who want their privacy? Or want to play their music to loud? Or want to watch something different on TV? No problem! The Trout House is the perfect kid’s getaway while you enjoy the peace and relaxation of the Country House. They are happy and you are happy! Perfect!

The two chalets offer something for all members of the family. The property is located at the end of a mile long dirt road on a level 1 acre fenced lot. You can rent one or both chalets depending on your needs. The covered wrap-around metal roofed porches are just feet from the Nottely River. You can fish, hike, go antiquing, sit by the fire and listen to the river, BBQ on the outdoor grill, watch the cows graze across the river, or just sit on the porch in the rockers and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Nottely River.
