Pigeon River Hideaway liegt auf der Little Pigeon River zwischen Gatlinburg und Pigeon Forge. Herrliche Aussicht auf den Fluss von der Terrasse, in der Veranda mit Hollywoodschaukel und den beiden Schlafzimmern im Obergeschoss gescreent. Die besten Stromschnellen auf dem gesamten Fluss befinden sich direkt vor der Alphütte. Auf der oberen Ebene sind zwei Schlafzimmer und ein Badezimmer, das eine mit 2 Personen Jacuzzi beinhaltet. Die Hauptebene verfügt über einen großen Raum mit Sat-HD-TV, DVD / VCR, ein Sofa, ein Esszimmer und Kamin. Auch auf der Hauptebene ist eine voll ausgestattete Küche und ein zusätzliches Badezimmer. Auf der unteren Ebene ist ein weiteres Schlafzimmer mit eigenem Deck, um den Fluss und eine zusätzliche Dusche.

It was a lovely property. I loved the sound of the river. My only complete was it has a lot of stairs I am 70 and my husband is 81 we have huge worn problems and the stairs where very difficult.

My family truly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. This was our second annual vacation together, including my husband, his mom, my mom, and me. The cabin was incredibly peaceful, and being by the water had such a calming effect. Lynn's cottage is even more beautiful than we were expecting! I'd especially recommend if you want to escape the mayhem of Pigeon Forge and downtown Gatlinburg in the evenings. The house is full of large windows overlooking the river, including in bedrooms upstairs, which we found astounding. There is plenty of space to spread out, and the walk down to the river, from the lower deck, took us less than 30 seconds (it can be a little hard to tell the exact distance from the pictures). The house hasn't been updated with cheap, uniform rental style. It's cozy and extremely peaceful. The furniture is real, comfortable furniture, not particle board trash. I can't recommend this house enough. Plus, the hosts were thoughtful and communicative!

As others have said, being by the river is relaxing and the side sunporch is a great area to enjoy the sounds of the water flowing over the rocks. The layout of the cabin is not good for individuals who have difficulty navigating stairs. Since there is no bedroom on the main level, one must walk up and down the steps multiple times a day. The downstairs bedroom has no toilet so my 78 year old brother had to climb the steep stairs in the middle of the night to use the toilet located on the main floor. There is a small shower stall downstairs but it’s in a somewhat unkept utility room. The Jack and Jill bathroom in the upstairs had a jacuzzi tub and no shower. There is a nice bathroom/laundry combo on the main floor so that was what the four of us used to shower. The most important note is that there is not a handrail on the stairs going to the upstairs bedrooms, only a maybe 4” or 6” wide board. My sister slipped on the narrow steps and didn’t have anything to grab onto to catch her fall. Fortunately, it was the bottom step and she didn’t hurt herself. The refrigerator doesn’t dispense filtered water so we had to buy drinking water. All in all, the cabin was nice and would be perfect for more mobile individuals. I just wanted to share these issues because I wish i had known this in advance.

Although comparing short-term rental properties is rarely apples to apples, I’m going to ignore that logic and say Pigeon River Hideaway is easily in my Top 3 — quite possibly #1 when factoring in the host experience. Lynn went above and beyond to make my stay perfect! From working directly with VRBO to help resolve a reservation issue I had (Lynn even called me personally to talk through it), to providing detailed driving directions for the easiest route and promptly answering questions during my stay, he contributed greatly to this glowing review.Of course, the property itself was absolutely amazing. I don’t need to repeat all the details already mentioned in so many other reviews, but the fact that I’m a hiker who usually wants to log as many trail miles as possible — yet chose to spend 2 of my 5 hiking days simply relaxing at the cabin — says a lot.TLDR: Stop reading reviews and just book it Thanks so much for an amazing experience, Lynn!

So many amazing aspects of this property! First thing - IT IS BETTER THAN PICS!!!! Then…- rushing water close to screen porch which has a comfy swing and 4 chair dining table! It is a truly wonderful view of the river! - easy to get to and parking is a breeze. - secluded but not isolated. Beautiful trees on both sides. - very clean - comfy mattress and pillows. - perfect size kitchen set up with everything you need. - TAP WATER TASTES GREAT! I would love to stay here a month or more! - owner was available and attentive. Can’t say enough about this property!

Loved the cozy feel of this cabin! The sound of the river flowing was relaxing while setting on the back porch or screened in porch! Wonderful, scenic spot! The cabin is very comfortable and nice. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge were a disappointment.

Cabin by the River

My family enjoyed this cabin by the river. It is away from the tourist and traffic of Gatlinburg which worked awesome for us. My family and I hope to return in the future.

We are brothers Ron and Lynn, the owners and builders of Pigeon River Hideaway. We’re originally from Ohio, where we spent much of our lives farming and working outdoors, which is where we developed our appreciation for peaceful landscapes and simple beauty. Building this cabin was truly a labor of love for us, and we enjoy knowing that guests from across the country—and even around the world—get to experience and enjoy the same special place that means so much to us. One of our favorite things as hosts is seeing where our guests are from and knowing the cabin we built can bring people together to relax, recharge, and make lasting memories.

We chose this location because of its natural beauty and peaceful setting along the Little Pigeon River. The cabin sits in a scenic and secluded area where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the river, the rapids, and the surrounding mountains. It offers a quiet escape away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, yet it’s still close enough that guests can easily visit all the attractions, restaurants, and activities those towns have to offer. For us, it’s the perfect balance of relaxation and convenience.

Pigeon River Hideaway is special because of its private riverfront location. Guests can sit on the deck and listen to the flowing water, watch the rapids, enjoy the scenery, or spend time fishing right outside the cabin. The seclusion creates a peaceful mountain experience that’s hard to find, while the beautiful river setting makes it feel truly unique. Because we personally built the cabin, every detail reflects the care and pride we put into creating a place where guests can unwind, enjoy nature, and feel at home.
