Escape to this charming and fully updated authentic log cabin on the shores of Lake Buchanan. With direct water access and a private boat dock it's the perfect base for swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing, or simply soaking up the lake life. This cozy retreat features soaring 20’ open-beam ceilings and comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests. The main bedroom includes a plush king bed, and a private loft offers two twin beds. The well-appointed bathroom includes a tub/shower combo for a refreshing end to your lake day. Set on over half an acre beneath shady, mature oak trees, the Yellow Door Cabin invites you to relax outdoors—grill dinner on the deck, dine under bistro lights, roast s’mores at the fire pit, or watch deer and ducks wander by. The fully fenced backyard makes it safe and fun for children and pet alike (one pet maximum). Come unwind, unplug, and enjoy lake life at its best! This was the perfect little cabin for me and my dog. Being a solo traveler I felt very safe. The area was beautiful and very convenient to Burnet and other areas. Will definitely stay here again!

Thank you for your comments. There is one resident down the street that seems to have a problem with keeping their property cleaned up. Its a shame as the other neighbors are long time residents that have pride in their properties.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Yellow Door Cabin! The place is nice, clean, and very comfortable. It’s also pet-friendly, which was a big plus—our dog loved spending time on the patio and walking around the neighborhood. The manager was very friendly and helpful, making the whole experience smooth and welcoming. Great spot for a relaxing getaway!

This cabin had a great place to keep our boat. We enjoyed the quiet and privacy of its location.The door lock was easy to maneuver and having the light switches labeled made settling in very easy. The backyard was well fenced and a very secure place for our dog. The outdoor furniture was absolutely sturdy and comfortable.We will be back.

The host claimed they had WiFi per the listing. I took my family for a weekend get away. I work remotely so having WiFi is imperative for me. The house has no cell service and of course they mentioned this after I booked! Doesn’t mention it anywhere on the listing at the time I booked. Because of WiFi being down at the house I had no choice but to book a hotel in town and leave my family and my 3 month old baby alone. I spoke to the next door neighbor who also rents on VRBO and and their WiFi worked fine. I gave them an opportunity to help offset the issues and reimburse or offset the cost of my hotel stay but they later decided not to cover any of those expenses.

Great rental for fishing/boating!

We had a wonderful time at the yellow door cabin! The entire stay was amazing! The boat slip is very convenient if you are staying to enjoy the lake! The owners are very kind and wonderful with communication. We would 100% recommend this place to anyone. We will definitely be returning!!

Great weekend get away

Came to the lake to get away from Austin. What a special gem! The lake is low but still visible from the property. The house is clean and the street is quiet, so this was so restful and relaxing. Looking forward to future stays.

A Great Get-Away!

The yellow door log cabin is so cute! It is light and bright with a beautiful view of the lake and all the comforts of home. We kayaked, fished, and rested. We enjoyed every minute and the hosts, Chris and Ann were lovely and responsive. The area is so peaceful. We recommend touring the Longhorn Cavern and taking in some hikes. We will definitely be back!

We had a good time was a nice clean place to stay. We saw plenty of wildlife from the back porch and stargazing was awesome. Even caught some fish even with the water low. Would stay again

Very Nice Cabin

The property is great for a small group or family. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen has everything that you need for a lake trip. Unfortunately the lake is a bit low so the water around the dock is too low to get a boat to. So if you are visiting with a boat, you will have to lauch it and load it every time that you go out on the lake. That isn't a big deal as there is a ramp at the Thunderbird Lodge about a mile away. I still recommend this cabin, but I wish that I would have known that the water was too low for my boat.

Thank you for the feedback. We stayed at the cabin 4 weeks before your visit and the water level wasn’t a problem. After your comments we went back and were shocked at the level. We then learned LCRA had dropped the water 3.5’ over the past 30 days. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have since added an update to the property description warning of the low water level. We hope you will consider returning when the water level is back to normal.

Great Get a Way

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and inviting. Good communication with the owner. Grown kids enjoyed paddle boarding out back. The family enjoyed the corn whole game 😊 We went out for meals but there was everything anyone cooking would need to prepare meals. Close enough to go to Inks Lake for a hike. Would definitely stay at this location again if we are gonna be in the area

Peaceful Stay

Cosy cabin on the lake

It was a nice 4-day getaway for the family with kids. The bike park nearby was awesome, but make sure you have proper mountain bikes and protective gear. Otherwise kids enjoyed the kayaks and the nearby parks/hiking by the river.

Great weekend getaway!

We had a wonderful time at the Yellow Door Log Cabin! We enjoyed sitting out back overlooking the lake and fishing. The house was really comfortable, very clean and we had everything we needed for cooking. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again!

Amazing cabin on Lake Buchanan

Loved our stay here! Chris and Anne were great hosts. We had everything we needed and loved sitting out on the back patio watching the geese and ducks in the lake. It was a quiet spot just outside of Burnet with a wonderful scenic view. Anne even has a piece of her art hanging in the living room I just loved! Would definitely stay again!
