Star-gazing, pet-friendly, remote The Blind Cabin with Hot Tub near Missoula, MT
Relax and unplug in this off-grid, pet-friendly and peaceful The Blind cabin only 15 min from Kettlehouse Amphitheater, 25 min outside of Missoula, and 35 min from MSO. The Hohnstead Glamping Cabins offers a shared hot tub under the stars, 100 acres of hiking, Commons Area Lounge, outdoor showers, and guest favorite - Scavenger Hunt Challenge and Hike.
Here is what you can expect when staying at the Blind cabin:
✔ 2 stargazing panels under each bed (gaze at the stars without lifting your head)
✔ 2 single beds that can push together
✔ Simple kitchenette with camping stove, 2 gallons of water and coffee/tea making items
✔ 2 Outdoor chairs / one 2-person hammock
✔ Mountain views and 360 degrees of forested views and wildlife-viewing abilities
✔ Books/games
✔ DC Power (solar panel) to charge your small devices
✔ Free Parking (near the Commons Area)
Pet cleaning fee is $30 per pet per stay (2 pets max). Please ensure that your pet is friendly and well trained around other humans or other pets to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay for all. Thank you.
In order to stay at this Glamping Cabins Resort, we require that you sign a liability waiver (available in the Commons Area Lounge when checking in).
PLEASE READ BELOW TO MAKE SURE WE'RE A PERFECT VACATION FIT FOR YOU:
Commons Area Lounge is centrally located between all 5 of our cabins and has WIFI, AC Power, Full Kitchen, dry food storage, dining/lounging spaces, local info, extra blankets/games/books. BBQ is around the corner and is also shared among all the guests.
The bathroom requires a short, slightly steep 1-minute walk to an enclosed outdoor bathroom.
Solar shower facility is available and depends largely on the weather conditions. It is outdoors, which means that THE SHOWER HEATS UP FROM THE SUN. You must be flexible as the sunshine and the weather dictate your ability to take a hot shower (we understand that it's not for everyone, but it's one of the minor concessions that we endure while getting to live here.)
Being in the mountains, we share the space with beautiful wild animals such as deer, elk, and bear. Bugs, flies and the occasional mouse might drop by to say hello too. We do our absolute best to make sure you won't see them. However, If even the prospect of the sight or sound of the occasional bug or mouse puts a burr under your saddle, we kindly suggest that you book a chain hotel in the big city of Missoula.
Basically, this isn't your standard Holiday Inn chain hotel experience, in this space and on this property you'll be reminded of the simplicity of life, the stillness of nature and the pureness of your routine being dictated by the sun.
If you're a nature lover who is looking to ditch the city and get away into the woods for a while, while stargazing, hiking, and frolicking through the woods with your pup, we can't wait to host you at The Hohnstead Glamping Cabins Resort in Bonner, Montana.
Your friendly hosts,
Alla and Garrett

Über den Gastgeber
Zu Gast bei Alla Ponomareva and Garrett Hohn
We're Garrett and Alla Hohn and we're excited to host you at the Hohnstead, our self-built piece of Montana haven. All 5 of our cabins are self built, unique and off-the-grid, helping you to reconnect to Nature and to each other. We love working out, traveling abroad, brewing (beer for Garrett, Kombucha for Alla), gardening, and anything that supports an eco-friendly, simple living lifestyle. If this is your vibe, we wanna be friends :)
Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig
We went from bare land in 2010 to working on it 2 months at a time (on our vacations from our jobs abroad). In 2022, we were finally able to quit our jobs, and made The Hohnstead Glamping Cabins Resort our full time seasonal job. Proudest part - we only paid out for a concrete slab in the Commons Area, but everything else on this property was built with our own two hands.
