We’ve been going to Casa de Campo for close to 20 years and never had such an awful experience with a home! We were told that the house came with two in help, but only saw the second person on the last day as we were preparing to leave and he was cleaning up for the next set of guests. Daisy, the housekeeper/cook was way below expectations typical CDC expectations. For breakfast, she could hardly pull it together, forgetting to set the table with napkins, glasses, etc. When someone would mention she forgot something, she would roll her eyes. During the day when we would look for her for a towel, she would be in her room and answer us as if she was sleeping. She would come in late and leave early. We ended up calling her ‘Lazy Daisy!
Kitchen was filthy, there were bugs on the counters and dishes. When I showed her, she took bug spray and sprayed it right on the counters and dishes—those sprays could kill you, she didn’t care!
I have photos of how she would leave the house at night, kitchen disorganized, etc.
if you dared asked her to wash a shirt, she’d roll her eyes and give it back to you unfolded and inside out. When we would ask for clean towels, she’d ignore you. Rented a golf cart thru the house, got one that was inoperable and dangerous, when I called the owner, a new one was replaced but without any keys. When I mentioned that we couldn’t use the cart and should’ve received a discount, nothing was done. Things got so bad, we asked the owner to call us, and of course he didn’t! In room safes didn’t work, there were wasps nests in the windows. Strange, unauthorized people would come to the house, Daisy’s friends, not ours!
Bathrooms, fixtures, kitchen are dated!
This house is used and treated like an investment property, there was no TLC! The only place there was AC was in the bedrooms and if you left the AC on for the room to cool down, Daisy would turn off the AC!
Official checkout was 2:00pm, Daisy was asking us to leave at 12:00pm. She made us get out of our bedrooms at 1:00pm. Normally, we would have worked with the house, if there was a tight turnaround time, but this time we had to put out foot down. We left the house at 1:59pm
CDC is such a great place, don’t waste your time and money in this house.
