Michigan Getaway Cottage

Enjoy this unique Michigan getaway cottage located just off Patterson Lake on the Halfmoon chain of lakes. Launch your boat or rent one at nearby N&K Marina or Bruin Lake Campground to enjoy a day out on the water or enjoy the nature at Pinckney State Recreation Area. The area is perfect for boaters, kayakers, and nature lovers.

Quaint house features two bedrooms with queen size beds, living room, and sitting room with a futon. Enjoy a meal on the front deck or an evening fire in the backyard.
The space
The property is a small cottage located just off Patterson lake. The property was originally built in the 1940’s as a lake getaway and added on since.

The front of the house hosts a deck and patio that is great for meals and gathering, while the semi private backyard is great for an evening bonfire. The backyard backs up to wooded state land.

There is plenty of space inside with a living room, sitting room, and dining area, that connect to a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a washer and dryer onsite.

The location of the house is perfect for people who have a boat or kayaks and want to spend time on the water. There is plenty of parking in the driveway and in front of the house for your boat trailer. All lakes on the chain are all sports lakes, great for water sports, fishing, or relaxing at one of the sandbars.

Within the chain of lakes, there are small canals and bridges that must be navigated. Depending on the time of year, water levels and the size of watercraft, it may be difficult to access some areas of the chain (I have not had much issues with a 24’ pontoon).

There are also walking trails within the neighborhood and nearby state land that is popular for hiking and mountain biking. There are many events held in the area throughout the year including bike races, running races, fishing tournaments, lake fireworks, and live music and food close by in neighboring towns of Hell and Chelsea.
Guest access
Guests will have full access to the property. Guests can park in the driveway or in front of the house on the street. If guests have a boat/ trailer, it can be parked in front of the house or in the driveway during your stay.

Boats can be launched at N&K Marina (2 minute walk from house) or Bruin Lake Campground. Please contact us cab for launch prices. N&K Marina also has pontoon boat rentals during the season.

The dock is a community dock, so guests will not have the ability to park any type of watercraft at the dock or at the seawall at the end of the road. The dock typically goes in mid May and is removed mid October.

There is no designated swimming area, but guests are permitted to swim and or launch a kayak at the lake access.

There is a propane BBQ grill onsite for guest use.
