Our home away from home that the whole family will enjoy located directly across from one of the best parks in the area.

"The Steamer" will take your family somewhere special yet familiar & cozy. Inspired by our love of world travel & adventure, this designed home is eclectic but not fussy so everyone in the family can relax & enjoy themselves.

Only 5 minutes east of I-75, it doesn't get better than this location in DFW. The home is nestled into a quiet neighborhood near an elementary school.

Inspired by our world travels and time spent living abroad, you'll find unique accents from every continent. The special designer details of this home will certainly blow you away, but there is also something for everyone to do at The Steamer.

For the kids : Arcade with literally hundreds of classic games, a foosball table, board games, fire-pit, tennis, pickle ball & basketball courts (rackets and balls provided), a baseball diamond, playgrounds, and walking trails

For the babies: highchair, pack-n-play, books, toys, playground, baby-friendly dish set

For the adults: Yoga/meditation solarium, dedicated work space, fire-pit, tranquil primary suite, great coffee table books to flip through and adult board games

For the dogs: Our HUGE fenced backyard is what dogs dream about. Rabbits frequently hop through the yard giving your furry friends something exciting to do. The park across the street has fantastic open fields for playing and paved walking trails for when you need to

The home was perfect for our 30 day stay! Leah was helpful and very responsive. The yard was awesome for playing frisbee with our Shepherd and everything in the house was as presented in the listing. We would definitely stay again in the future!

We were staying near the venue where our daughter was getting married. This place provided a warm and cozy retreat from the wedding planning and festivities. The space was clean and pet friendly, which was important since we had a four-legged friend in the wedding party. There was so much attention to detail and an intentional effort made to ensure we had a pleasant, hassle free stay. The communication with the host was also exceptional and timely. Great stay!

We loved our stay at The Steamer Inn! The house was perfect for our family visit for a nearby wedding. We especially loved the big yard for the dogs. This house was perfect for our family and three teenage boys! The house was stocked with everything we needed including a basketball and pickleball paddles and balls! My boys especially loved the large backyard and the proximity to the park across the street!

We loved this house. Self check in process was super easy, communication with the host was great. The house was very clean and well stocked. It is in a peaceful neighborhood, close to shopping and restaurants. I liked having the fence to park in and my dogs loved the yard! The backyard was huge and we saw several rabbits. I absolutely loved the sunroom! I loved relaxing and reading a book out there every night. The furniture and beds were comfortable. It was decorated so cute and unique. I would definitely stay again!

Great Family Time

Several groups of our family met in Dallas. This was a wonderful house to hang out and have meals. Our grandchildren loved the arcade game, foosball table, and games provided at the house. The house was clean and the layout worked well. We loved the decor! Leah is a wonderful host.

What a wonderful home. We loved all the 4 areas we could hang out in the house. We couldn't decide which room to gather in so we switched every hour. Lol The bedrooms were great and comfortable with all the amenities you needed. We will definitely stay here next year again.

Review of the Steamer Inn

Family stayed here for 4 nights recently. The home is located in a quiet but old community but it was safe which we appreciated. The home looks like the picture and is fully furnished. The issues is that we were inundated with messages from the owner about setting the garbage cans 2 ft apart behind the fence, sending us the rules multiple times, asking us how many people would be residing in the home which was already stated when we booked the reservation, then asking again, messaging us 18 hours before asking when we were leaving even though check out time was 11am and we already paid extra for 2 additional hours in advance before we came to the home, sending cleaning people to the door before check out time with more messages asking us when we were leaving and multiple different kinds of bugs crawling in the carpet, on the floor and the windows. We are a family of 4, 2 parents, and 2 teenage kids who left the home in the condition we received it but did not appreciate that the home is worn, has bugs and the owner is extremely nervous about renting and feels the best way to manage the property is to constantly message and monitory you and your family. We left our luggage upon returning home outside to air it out but we were disappointed in the home and the treatment from the owner.

We are sorry to hear you didn’t appreciate our communication during your stay. You received our standard messages - check in instructions the day before your arrival (required by VRBO), a kind message the morning after your arrival to be sure you found the home as you expected after you arrived (which would have been the time to mention any problems you had with the home), information about how trash is collected on trash day (that you didn’t need to do anything, so long as you hadn’t moved the cans), and check out instructions (also required by VRBO). We have hosted over 100 guests in our home and you are the very first guest to not leave a 5-star review. If you are looking for an impersonal stay hosted by people who don’t care about the accommodations, I suggest you stay at a hotel next time. I do wish you had chosen to be kinder to us considering the kindness we showed to you.

We were both born and raised only a few minutes from this home so this area will always be "home" to us. Both of our families still live nearby and we use this as a second home when we are in town. We are thrilled to allow guests to stay here when we are not here.

As a “nomadic” military family, we have become especially good at exploring new surroundings and cities. We have moved 10 times in 14 years, each time to a new state, region or country. We love to travel and try new things. Our friends and family know us as being experts at seeking out the most unique spots in any city we live or adventure to. We can always find the best restaurants and create most memorable experiences.

Preston is the “historian”, putting together great explanations of the cultural and historic sites in any city. He is also a fantastic restaurant scout - always finding the coolest local eateries with the most creative menus. Leah has an eye for design and an appreciation for beautiful things. She is quick to spot things that are truly unique and is all about “feel good” aesthetics that cement special memories.

Our home Is located in a quiet and friendly cul-de-sac directly across the street from an AWESOME park and an elementary school. This neighborhood is ideal for families. People are often out walking their dogs and playing at the park.

Our homes faces two public tennis/pickle-ball courts, basketball courts, walking trails, a baseball field, multiple play grounds and plenty of open space for picnics and family activities. The setting is ideal and is a big part of why we chose this home.

The location is ultra convenient with fantastic retail and restaurants less than 5 minutes away. Access to Highway 75 is a breeze, making getting anywhere in the Dallas metroplex area super easy.

The Steamer gets its name from the awesome vintage sign hanging in the living room. We found it in an old antique shop in south Texas. The idea of vintage world travel by steamship was the jumping point for all our design choices in the home. We have been fortunate to have lived and traveled all over the world with Preston’s career and have always loved homes that feel collected and timeless. The Steamer Is just that!

Start your mornings slow in the solarium with a cup of coffee. Enjoy a round of tennis or pickleball at the courts across the street or take a leisurely walk along Mustang Trail which starts just out our front door. Cook a delicious home-cooked meal In the fully appointed kitchen before cozying up in the living room for an evening of board games, movies & laughs.
