Thank you kindly for staying at the home. Unfortunately after years of renting this home and paying for many damages, I have had to put fines in place to protect the home. I have had cigarette burns on a brand new kitchen table, a whole window was broken, missing items (too many to list), furniture destroyed, etc. I always say, if an item breaks, please let me know and if it an easy fix, I do not charge, in fact I have only had to charge a guest perhaps 3 or 4 times in 20 years. Normal wear and tear is perfectly fine and expected but not abuse of a home which fortunately 97% of my guests are wonderful, pleasant to deal with and careful, these fines are for the 3%. My intent is not to intimidate but rather to make the guest aware before there is an issue. I am thrilled that you found me responsive and loved the home and location as that is what vacation is all about.
