Anniversary Weekend
This was my husband and I's one year wedding anniversary, so we were extremely excited to get away and finally have alone time together, as life is so hectic with work and kids.
Upon arrival, we were quite confused. We didn't know the owners lived on site. The rental listing did not state anything to that nature. This was very upsetting. We thought that the top loft is where we would be staying for the weekend. Nope. That’s where the owners live. We would be staying in the mother-in-law suite right underneath the loft. They were very friendly and welcoming, so I decided to just make the best of it. The first night was pleasant, the rental was very cute, clean and had everything we needed and more.
The next day, we were taken by surprise when we were told that their friends lived there as well, in the camper. After galivanting all day on Saturday, we came back ready to grill and enjoy a fire at the fire pit to unwind for the evening. Little did we know we would be greeted by 7 people. The couple that lived there, the couple in the camper and three others, together at the fire. This was a huge bummer and so frustrating as we were not able to use the amenities that were supposed to be included in our stay. Not only could we not have alone time nor quiet time, as this is what this trip was intended for, but it was not so peaceful with all the talking, drinking and their late-night card game that they had above us on their porch.
