The Game Barn is a private, fully fenced Hill Country retreat set on a gated one-acre property near Canyon Lake and Wimberley, Texas, sleeping 10 across four bedrooms with its own entertainment barn, brand new cowboy pool, fire pit, grill shack and a full acre of outdoor space all to yourselves.

This is the place where the group actually stays together. Where phones get put down, kids and adults alike lose track of time, and everyone ends up around the fire pit swapping stories long after they planned to go to bed. Responsive hosting, a spotlessly clean home, and thoughtful touches throughout make this as stress free as a group stay gets.

The Home
The home is single-story and thoughtfully laid out for groups, with wide doorways, open living spaces and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for group meals including an espresso machine, drip coffee maker, locally roasted beans and dining for up to 10.

We have stocked the Game Barn generously so your group can settle in immediately, even after a long drive. A welcome snack bowl awaits with chips, cookies and a candy selection for everyone. The kitchen comes ready with local coffee beans, creamer singles, sugar and sweetener packets, tea and hot chocolate, along with cooking oil, salt, pepper and a full range of spices and herbs so you can cook a proper meal from the moment you arrive.

Bathrooms are fully stocked with Ginger Lily Farms shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand soap, and we provide laundry detergent and dishwasher pods too, so an unexpected spill, a stained shirt, or a mid-stay towel refresh is never a problem. Toilet paper, paper towels and dish soap are all provided as standard. We genuinely believe in arriving to a home that is ready for you, not a checklist of things to buy on the way.

The Outdoor Space
The outdoor space at Game Barn is designed around one idea: getting everyone together and keeping them there.

The cowboy pool, game barn and grill shack form a natural triangle of entertainment, connected by string lights that drape across the entire area and glow long into the evening.

The fire pit sits at the centre of it all, which means wherever you are, you are part of the same gathering. You can even soak in the cowboy pool and watch a movie on the 17ft barn screen at the same time.

The cowboy pool itself is a genuine highlight. It is heated to a comfortable 82 degrees as standard, included in your stay, with the option to heat further up to 104 degrees or chill it down to as low as 55 degrees for an additional $15 per night, arranged through the guest portal.

Deer and foxes visit the property most evenings, so guests are asked to keep the pool covered when not in use, which helps protect the local wildlife as well as keeping the water clean and the temperature steady.

Guests regularly tell us that what surprised them most was how naturally everyone put their phones down and just enjoyed being together. Before the pool was even added, families were telling us that the outdoor space had given them something they had been missing: time to reconnect and make memories in a setting that made it effortless.

The Area
Fischer, Texas sits in the heart of the Hill Country with some of the region's best destinations right on your doorstep.

The Game Barn is located in Fischer, Texas, home to the historic Devil's Backbone Tavern, a legendary dive bar just two minutes away known for its live music, haunted history and dramatic Hill Country setting. Nearby, the Devil's Backbone Overlook offers one of the most spectacular sunset views over the valley in the entire region. The area is also home to the original Fischer Store, a beautifully preserved piece of Texas Hill Country history still standing today.

Wimberley is just minutes away, known for its boutique shops, art galleries, restaurants and the famous Blue Hole swimming area. The north side of Canyon Lake is close by too, offering boating, swimming and stunning waterside scenery. Local wineries, breweries and Hill Country scenic drives are all within easy reach for those who want to explore.

When you are ready to venture further, New Braunfels, Gruene, San Marcos and Blanco are all around 30 minutes away, and San Antonio and Austin are both within comfortable driving distance for those who want a city day out.

Good to Know
- Maximum 10 overnight guests, plus 1 infant in a pack 'n' play. Day visitors are welcome with prior approval, up to 10 additional guests, with no overnight stay and a total property limit of 20 guests at any time
- The primary booking guest must be present on the property throughout the stay
- Outdoor music must be off by 10pm. Indoor music at reasonable levels is welcome any time
- Once you book, you will receive a secure portal link to complete a quick pre-arrival step. This includes reviewing and signing the rental agreement, a photo ID and selfie verification, and selecting either a refundable $1,500 security hold or an optional $55 non-refundable damage waiver. Once complete, you will unlock your full guest guide, including local recommendations, check-in details, a detailed house manual with instructions and videos for things like the barista-style coffee maker, and optional upgrades such as pool heating
