Peaceful with beautiful views.

We stayed here for a family vacation with two children. Perfect for our young family. Peaceful and clean. Close to the beach and town. We would definitely stay here again.

A very special place in "Amalfi" Laguna

My husband, myself and our 3 yr. old male black labrador stayed in Marie's apartment for 5 weeks this winter. We were so pleased that the apartment was exactly as she represented in the pictures on her site. An eclectic feel of European design at the very, very top of what is called the "Amalfi Coast in Laguna Beach." Unobstructed view of the Pacific ocean and Catalina Island with spectacular sunsets. Marie was delightful and accommodating. I was highly recommend staying at her place. Karen and Stuart Greenbaum

Wonderful place to stay!

My wife and I stayed with Marie for 3 months while I was working in Southern California for the summer. The unit is very nice and clean and has views of the ocean. Marie was always helpful and very responsive. We were there for a long time, so we had to communicate with her a lot. She was always available and worked hard to take care of our needs. It was a nearly perfect situation. As with any experience, there can always be mild inconveniences. Be aware that the kitchenette does not have a sink, which makes doing any kind of dishes difficult. Additionally, we ran into a small ant and spider (mostly daddy long legs) problem around July. It was so minor that we dealt with it ourselves and didn't even bother Marie about it, but I'm sure she would have handled it had we reached out. We knew what we were getting into because we are familiar with Laguna Beach, but for those not familiar, this is an area full of VERY steep hills. Although you can see the ocean from the property, you would not want to plan on walking to and from the beach. However, it is easy to find a parking spot near Victoria Beach if you park on Nye's Place. It was super easy to jump in the car, park down the hill, and be at the beach in 5 minutes. All in all, I highly recommend staying at Marie's place. Laguna Beach is a great town and Marie is a great host.

Thanks kids! Glad you enjoyed it. It was great to have you here. I was sad to see you go. For those of you who don’t know Laguna, it is an very beautiful historic artistic beach community, similar to the French Riviera and the Italian Amalfi Coast, with spectacular views, nestled between wilderness canyons, and hills. I am next to a wilderness area, and 3 minutes up from PCH, Montage Resort Protected Marine Reserves, Conservatory, Botanical Gardens, Parks, and by far the best coves and beaches in Laguna, all public access, within walking distance, with lots of options for parking, even resort valet and pick up. . These guest had two dogs, and the ant problem was due to pet food. Fyi, "daddy long legs" are tiny spiders,. that mostly hang out in Bougainvillea. The kitchenette works very well for most who do not cook big meals daily. There is a large sink on patio, next to the BBQ, cooking and dining area, that most guests use for larger meals, and two large sinks in bath. These quests did not use the BBQ cooking and dinning area, that most really enjoy., all year long. The hill is very short, and people walk, bike, and skateboard up and down every day. Guests also walk to downtown as walking is the best way to see and experience the charm and spectacular views of Laguna. The most beautiful beaches in Laguna are 3 minutes away, 10-15 walk, with 8 options for parking; PCH, Aliso large parking lot, Resort under ground, behind, valet and resort pick up is even available. Free trolley and bus stop, are mins away. Taxis to downtown are $5-6. Rental cars can be delivered to apt. Apt. has been noted as "one of the best areas and deals in Laguna"! NEWLY REMODELED!

Spectacular views in hills of Laguna

My husband and I and our Labrador returned for another season at Marie's. At our suggestion from the previous stay in 2016 Marie did a major renovation of the kitchenette that looks great and was much more user-friendly. And the views of the Pacific and Catalina Island from the windows remains spectacular! Marie goes out of her way to make her guests feel welcome.

Not a safe walk to the beach, deposit issues

We booked this unit during a summer holiday and were hopeful to walk the kids to the beach and to restaurants without having to worry about parking downtown, etc. The owner was very responsive during the booking process and the unit was clean. It sits below the owner’s main residence but does still have a view of the ocean from some parts of the unit/yard. Despite this location’s close proximity to the ocean and the city transportation offered, there is not a path/sidewalk down the windy hill for pedestrians, making it an unsafe walk to the PCH, especially with kids or a stroller. The walk back up would be a steep incline and again there is the issue of the windy road and the local drivers passing by constantly. This was a huge disappointment for my family (which includes two young children) since we ended up having to drive everywhere and deal with hectic Southern California beach parking. The kitchenette appears to be remodeled since our stay, so I will omit my comments on that subject. We ended up paying holiday rates to stay at a hotel during one of the nights we were there to get the beach experience we had hoped for. Then when everything was all over we ended up in a dispute with the owner over our deposit, which was never resolved (we gave up and moved on with our lives). So if you do end up renting this unit I would recommend making sure all the fees, costs, and terms of the deposit are in writing and clear before hand. Follow up communication with the owner since our stay has not been pleasant or professional.

I was never made aware of any dispute or problem, until a review was posted 8 months later. My last correspondence from this guest thanked me, and provided me with a third address, within a 2 1/2 wk period. Her security deposit was returned 10 days later, well within VRA TERMS. Her issues seemed to have been with HOMEAWAY booking and CC processing fees. I do not determine these fees. And as stated on my listing, and on VRA, these are the clients responsibilitiy. She just failed to read them. My listing location is provided for by street, map, 3D and Aerial views. The road to the beach is a short one. But it is not right for anyone who has problems walking., or too much to handle. However many people walk, run, jog, bike, skateboard on this short hill, every day, weather permitting. This was a mother of a 2 and 5 year old, with a stroller and a dog. She was left here most of the time alone without a car. The common sense thing for her to have done was to call for a $2-3 cab. If she had a car, there are 7 parking areas for this location. And south Laguna has a lot more parking and allot less crowds than downtown area. Downtown Parking is expensive, and all hotels charge parking fees. Valet is free at the Montage. if you lunch, dine, drink or have a spa treatment. The majority of streets in Laguna do not have sidewalks. The Montage is the only hotel on waterfront in the Laguna Conservatory and Marine Reserve Area that is below me. The Montage rates during this time for 1 room approx 250qf for 2 per is approx $1600 per night, plus tax, and resort fees. The suites go up front there starting at approx $3500 on up per night. My suggestion, for the ease of acess required, in a case like this, is that they book the Montage Laguna Resort for any furture stays in Laguna. Furthermore, I use a California RE VACATION RENTAL AGREEMENT, and my listing is detailed and comprehensive. One only needs to review these docs. to understand all. No follow up or contact was made from this clent regarding ANY "issues" after her stay.

Fabulous escape!

If you are looking for a serene, hideway with a comfortable European feel, DON'T MISS THIS EXQUISITE location! (You will be tucked away from it all at the top of a mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean and The Montage Hotel). If you need to clear your thoughts and quiet your mind this is for you. I've stayed in this lovely home several times over the past few years and look forward to returning soon! The European ambiance, solitude and privacy reminds me of many private villas in France and italy that I've visited with my husband over the past several years. I enjoy the neighborhood, walking up and down the hill everyday for exercise and never, ever miss the sunset. (For walkers, climbers and hiking enthusiasts this is a perfect workout for you)! Marie, who's the owner is ready and capable to take care of your every need. When my husband was ill, she offered to make him a gourmet meal. And, he loved it! She's a great cook and eager to please her guests. We always felt at home and welcomed. Jerry loved going to Marie's and could hardly wait to return. It made us feel like we were in Europe, but, much closer to home. Wonderful memories have been created at this location for myself and family. In fact, there is enough room in the 'living room area' for my young male son to have his own private quarters. It's perfect for a family of three or even four....Enjoy walking on the white sandy beach, the ocean breezes, fresh fish in the local restaurants and various activities in town. There is always something happening in Laguna Beach. And, you can curl up on the couch and read a book or write a book! Whatever your interests may be this a perfect destination to enhance your life! Enjoy!

So happy to be returning to Marie's place

My husband and I and Mambo our Labrador are so looking forward to returning to Marie's for another 5 week stay this January and February. Marie is a delight and this year with some suggestions we made about making the kitchen space more user-friendly she completely renovated the area and it looks great!! Quiet and Restful Stay in Laguna Beach

I had searched for a place to relax and reflect during a hectic relocation from the east coast. The good news is that I found one. Staying almost five weeks, I didn't want to leave. The location is quiet and still close to the downtown areas. The accommodations were beautiful with artwork, beautiful wall decorations and very clean. My host Marie seems to take a lot of pride in her home and welcoming her guests. She has a real European personal flair to her style, that reminded me of being in Italy and France. I have recommended her place to my east coast friends and family who want to experience a little slice of the Laguna Beach and California coast lifestyle.

All I'm going to say is look elsewhere. We left after the 1st day I arrived. Good luck if you decide to stay here. Don't forget to bring your own kitchen. I'll never use Homeaway again!!!!

This guy came here the day he had major stomach surgery, Most likely south of the boarder, that I was never informed of. He should have been on a hospital bed, and not on vacation. As IF I knew of this, I would have NEVER excepted this reservation. They ALSO tried to cram in more people than allowed. After I acted in good faith, upon seeing his condition, and refunded the remaining days, with full security the same day. I was left with a broken sofa bed, scratched leather chair, and 1 less DVD player. No respect. Live and learn.

A "Gem" in Laguna Beach

Our stay was amazing! The apartment was amazing and the views of the ocean were breathtaking. The apartment is very clean and cozy and well equipped with everything we needed. Upon arrival, we took a quick walk to the beach. It was so refreshing to breath such clean fresh air. We cooked on the barbecue and ate dinner outside the weather was perfect. Oh, and Marie the owner she was so helpful and friendly she gave us direction to places we wanted to go see and shops I wanted to shop at. She knows where everything is in Laguna. I will and have recommend Marie's place to all my friend and family. Thanks for such a memorable stay, I can't wait to come back!

Homeaway.com/3799134...like living in Paradise!

Our stay at Marie Titolo's home was a wonderful experience. The accommodations, furniture and cleanliness were perfect. Note...my wife is also very hard to please! Besides the home being located in a great location with a panoramic ocean view, having the owner a lifetime resident in Orange County was extremely helpful bonus due to all of her fantastic must see sites to see in the area. Beautiful Laguna Beach apartment

The property sits up on the hill of south Laguna Beach where you can enjoy the breath taking views of the coast, it reminds me of the Amalfi coast in south of Italy. The accommodation were great, the apartment was clean and comfortable, the gated patio was private with barbecue and seating setup under the shade , my sharpei dog really enjoyed the space. Marie is a very nice lady and will make your stay comfortable and private. We will definitely stay at Maries wonderful place again!

Heaven on Earth !

This is a unique, quiet and charming place, with a breathtaking ocean view, ideal to get away from the city, while still being only an hour and a half away from Hollywood ! Surfing on perfect breaks and dining in the beautiful artist's village Laguna Beach, is only 10mn driving down the hill, with a spectacular coastline view, that reminds me of best spots in Tahiti or Hawaii. Not a full kitchen, but a shaded dining patio and an awesome tiled master bathroom ! Last but not least, Marie is a warm and wonderful person that will make your stay in Laguna Beach a soul fulfilling experience ! Come and enjoy ! Olivier

Comfortable Laguna Beach Place with a Great Host

I stayed at this property during the month of August, 2014 and had a wonderful time enjoying the features of this place and the amazing area it is located in. The property was very clean, comfortable, quiet with all the comfort items I needed for my stay. It is an ocean view property that is located in the very beautiful area of south Laguna Beach. The owner is a very accommodating lady who made sure that my stay was enjoyable. Will be back soon!

I was born in Los Angeles, grew up in Huntington Beach, aka Surf City USA, and spent most of the time in the ocean. We used to bike from Huntington Beach to Laguna in the 70's, approx. 25 miles each way. One of our favorite places was the Treasure Island Trailer Park Coves, Laguna's State Conservatory and Protected Marine Reserves, now the home of the Laguna Beach 5 Star Montage Resort. We would sneak in, explore the tide pools, Body Surf all day, and then ride back. It has always been one of my favorite places, even more beautiful now, then before.
Therefore, in 1991, when it came time for me to purchase a home, it did not take long for me to decide on the perfect location.
As after spending years traveling in Europe, most of the time on the French and Italian Riviera, and Amalfi Coast, for biz and pleasure. I knew I would have the best of both worlds, in Laguna: aka California’s Riviera and Amalfi Coast. Appropriately, Laguna is the sister city to Menton, France, that boarders Monaco, in the Cote d' Azur, and the Italian Amalfi coast. However, based on my experience, Laguna Beaches are even MORE beautiful.
I have been a world traveler for many years, as my travel bug started with a Political Science study program abroad in 1978.
I visited 10 countries, including the USSR, as a special guest. I continued to travel for the next ten years for work and study. In the late 80's, I established a Trade Show and Exhibit corporation. And for 14 years, I worked with companies all over the world, and traveled extensively throughout the US, Europe and Asia. I rented many villas in France and Italy, entertained guests from all walks of life, and I know what a traveler looks for.
I have many friends, and love people from all over the world, and I look forward to hearing from you, and welcoming you as my guest.
