Nestled in a quiet community at the mouth of the canyon to Taos Ski Valley (15min), the Ristra Studio is perfectly located for those interested in exploring all the area has to offer, from enchanting mountain scenery to the world-renowned culture, food, and art of Taos (20min) or Arroyo Seco (5min). The studio is one of three located on a uniquely designed property that showcases a classic southwestern adobe style.

The studio is located in a quiet, rural community at the base of the canyon to Taos Ski Valley.
4-wheel-drive is recommended to access the property via dirt road. Snow tires are additionally recommended in winter.
The property has a keypad lock that allows you to come and go without having to worry about keys. Each guest is provided a unique code during their stay for enhanced security. Please note that the front door access is shared between this studio and two others. Guests from all three studios have front door access, but only you have access to your private studio.
The interior embodies the Southwest. Saltia tiling, traditional viga beams, a hand-painted mural, and a large wood burning kiva fireplace are warm and inviting. High-speed internet, a streaming/casting compatible TV (Hulu, Netflix, Max, Disney+ subscriptions all included), keyless smart locks, espresso machine, full kitchen, private bathroom, and free parking are included.
A private balcony features outdoor bistro seating, lounge chair, and stunning views of the Rio Hondo River Valley below. The balcony also includes outdoor string lighting and a covered area which provides shade for the summer months. It offers fantastic star gazing on clear nights.
A glass sliding door connects the balcony to the studio and includes a screen door for airflow in the summer. Inside the studio you can dine/work at a bar-level table or relax on a leather living room couch that seats two. The queen size memory foam mattress is topped with down pillows and premium sheets. A closet provides ample storage for skis or fishing equipment. A washer/dryer are included for your convenience as well.
The kitchen area has a full size refrigerator/freezer, oven/stove, all necessary dish-ware, espresso machine, drip coffee maker, cook-ware, toaster, blender, kettle, and microwave. Coffee, cooking oil, and basic spices are supplied. Wood and fire starter are provided year-round for the fireplace. Please note that there is no AC.
From road 150 headed towards the canyon turn (sharply) left onto road 230. Follow 230 until you see the 'Hacienda del Valdez' sign on your right. This is a dirt road and 4-wheel drive is required. Follow the road up the hill. The condo building is on your right (the 3-tiered building). Park in front of or to the right of the building and follow the middle red staircase to Unit 10. Your studio is one of the three located inside.
Cell service is poor at the property. Please save your door code and WiFi information offline before arriving to ensure smooth check-in. Also please note that there is no AC. You may experience ongoing repairs on the outdoor staircase of the unit. These are conducted by the HOA - please use caution on the stairs.

In our spare time, Anna and I love to explore the outdoors, dance to live music, and refurbish used furniture. We also spend lots of time with our two dogs, Angus (beef) and Colby (jack cheese).

The condo is located in a stunning location at the mouth of the canyon to Taos Ski Valley. The community is quiet and we love the rural environment as a getaway from the business of life. Sunsets over the Rio Hondo Valley are spectacular all year and stargazing is fantastic on clear nights with no moon.

We spent months custom designing this property to embody the southwest. A hand-painted mural adds a splash of color. The wood burning stove provides a cozy space to curl up with a cup of tea, good book, or movie after a long day of skiing or hiking in the area. Love love the proximity that the condo provides to both the ski valley and the town of Taos as well. It's situated directly between the two and makes trips to either one easy. Arroyo Seco is a fantastic small-town community 5min away -- don't be fooled by its size; it has some of the best restaurants in the whole area!
