Nice place, although high maintaince owner

We enjoyed our visit to the area. Cute, cozy, and beautifully decorated, well maintained house. Easy accessible in subdivision from the main highway. Wonderful sitting area in rear with large fenced yard, although the rear neighbor dogs a bit annoying having two of our own with us. Great little beagle next door though. Although listed as pet friendly, probably better for retired folks without dogs, as owner has many rules and regulations regarding pets. A misunderstanding between old instructions on the Fridge and the bedding stripping instructions included in their welcome letter cost us part of our deposit, but understand the Fridge instructions will be updated for future renters. Us Yanks also saw several roaches in rear of house, but are told it is impossible to keep all the bugs out living in the Deep South. Guess that could be true, as was difficult not to track dead leaves into house from sitting area in back. Recommend Gambino's Italian Restaurant in nearby Fairhope for a great evening dinner choice. Would consider this rental again, but when we don't have pets.

These were very nice guests to have in your home for those of you who may be hosts reading this review. Very clean and took care of our home. I'm sorry they saw the rules regarding dogs being brought with them as over bearing. These rules are in place for those renters who must bring their pets on vacation with them, and also for future guests coming in after them. I would not want to check into a home and find dog hair all over the blankets, sheets, and pillow cases. So the rule about not allowing your dogs on the furniture and beds is for the courtesy of the next guests staying there. The extra cleaning fees to have all the hair removed from the bedding (if that were possible) is more expensive than just replacing them, and we do not use cheap sheets. Stripping the beds is not what cost them part of their security deposit to be used for the replacement. Only one bed was covered with dog hair but when you mix clean sheets with hair covered sheets then both sets have to be replaced because of the transfer of hair. That is why we ask guests to not strip the bedding when they check out. We have a very good cleaning crew that watches for these kind of things and are grateful for that. The main reason for even replying to this review is for those of you who will be traveling with your dogs in the future and think it will be OK for the dogs to get on the beds and furniture since you do it in your own home. You may be OK with sleeping in your own dogs hair but I can assure you that no one else is !

Like home

Our visit with husband, mother, daughter, 2 grandgirls and a schnauzer was great. Was like being in our own home out of town. The location is excellent: everything is around the corner. The neighborhood is quiet. The kitchen has everything you can need to cook a meal (spices, condiments, teas, crockpot, blender). Rooms and bathrooms are cozy, clean and comfortable. One night we had a barking concert from the neighbor's dogs but that did not stop us from sleeping. We plan to repeat next year.

Cute cottage-great proximity to Fairhope and Daphne

My husband and I and another artist were there for the art show in Fairhope. The cottage was spacious, clean and had all the basics you could need! It was very quiet although as others had mentioned, there was a barking dog that woke us up one night, but it really wasn’t an issue. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider it again

Comfy Home with great location

Wonderful home, nicely furnished and equipped with all the essentials to enjoy your home away. As I travel with my small dog, the fenced back yard was great. Staying 2 months, I walked the residential neighborhood often, yet the location is handy to shopping, restaurants and parks. I walked across the street to take in the Daphne Mardi Gras parades. I took a Y membership only minutes away. It is close to Mobile Bay, but a distance from the Gulf, but being a winter rental that was not a concern for me. Keith is responsive to inquiries. I have wonderful memories of my stay here, give it my highest rating, and would definitely come again.. Nancy from Holland MI

Clean and comfortable

We stayed in this property while attending my daughter's graduation. The house was very comfortable and provided great accommodations for our visit. We had 5 adults and two kids, and there was plenty of room for all. The location is good, though nothing special about the neighborhood. We found this property to be a good value, and it met our needs beautifully.

Such a cute house to stay in! From the moment we walked in the door to the day we left, we felt comfortable and right at home. Cute, clean comfortable house

My husband had a temporary job in the Mobile area, so we rented this house for 2 weeks. It is an older house but has been adequately renovated and is furnished nicely. It has a cute, colorful beach theme. The beds were very comfortable. It was very clean and cozy. It's located right off the main highway that goes through town in a quiet, older neighborhood, very close to shopping, restaurants, and grocery stores. Also, the owner (Keith) is very helpful and responsive. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if back in the area.

A lovely home with great beds close to everything!

A great home that is very comfortable. We cook when we travel and this home has a well stocked kitchen. One of our party has back issues and travels with his own air bed but did not even needed it as he found the bed wonderful.

Too far from attractions.

The house was nice but the air conditioner is set on a timer and at night it goes up to 75 degrees and we were so uncomfortable at night. It does it throughout the day and therefore if your at the house it gets a little warm as well. The house is not close to any attractions. So we had to travel to do anything. The air was the biggest disappointment. We're from Louisiana and we need air condition

We are really sorry about the misunderstanding with the AC. All guests are given an explanation about how the thermostat works and their ability to set the temperature to what is comfortable for them while at the same time helping us to keep our costs down on electricity and our rental rates. Many guests are too busy going and doing while on vacation to think about the thermostat settings so this helps when they are away from the home and have left it on the lowest setting. As for the location and no attractions I could fill this page with things to do and see close by. The location of the home is mapped out on the listing so that would be something to consider before renting.

This is a great house. Plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked, better than probably any VRBO we've stayed in. Loved the suggestions of places to visit. We will definitely stay again.

Cute cottage

We found the house to be exactly like the pictures on the website. It was cute,cozy and clean. We were a little concerned as we pulled up to the property, the house on the left as you face the house is in really bad shape. But the rest of the neighborhood is ok. You can tell the owners are proud of the property, it is very nice inside and decorated quite beachy and comfortable. It was so nice to have a king size bed in the master and it was comfortable. The ensuite bath was very nice and loved the shower. Plenty of hot water. We like that the family room opened to the backyard and the yard was completely fenced as we took our dog with us and she loved roaming around the backyard. Kitchen was adequate and all the appliances worked very efficiently but a few more pots and pans, preferably non stick would be helpful. The house is close to the Main Street and easy to locate lots of shops and good restaurants. Daphne is a clean town as well as Fairhope and all of the rest of the little towns around. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Wonderful Home

A wonderful home to stay in. We only had 4 days however all 6 of us appreciated how lovely the house is and how much it feels like a home to stay in. Some of the little touches made this an ideal stay for us. Dauphin Island nearby was stunning with other great beaches within in easy reach. Thank you.

Cute and convenient!!

Very cute, clean and comfortable home for a week for my family. Location is perfect, close to major roadways to get to grocery stores, Fairgope, Mobile and Gulf Beaches. Keith was very responsive to any questions we had. Will definitely be staying again!!!

Relaxing and fun place to stay!

My family stayed in the house for 5 days. The house was decorated beautifully with a beach decor inside and out which was very nice. We were close to all the great sites in Mobile and Fairhope and it was nice coming in every evening to a comfortable house that felt like home. The owners were very kind and gracious and the property managers friendly and helpful. While in the area we visited the Mardi Gras museum in downtown Mobile and learned alot about the history of Mobile and Mardi Gras. We also went to eat at Felix Fish Camp which was great - the food was fantastic!

Excellent and relaxing!

This cottage is a nice sized house that fit our family well, very clean and delightfully decorated!! The owner was pleasant, responded immediately to questions, and offered great suggestions for attractions/dinner. You have to try the crab soup at Felix's Fish Camp! We are already hoping to return because we fell in love in Daphne, Fairhope, and Dauphine Island! Thank you for a delightful stay that our whole family enjoyed very much! Thank you, Keith!

Wonderful cottage!

My family rented this cottage for five days and we were impressed. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were comfortable and we slept like babies. The cottage is very spacious and well laid out. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for the perfect getaway and we would love to stay again in the future.

Great place to stay - we will be back!

This inviting space was comfortable and exactly as listed. We had everything needed for our long weekend stay and did not have any problems. The home is nicely decorated, very clean, and well cared for with comfortable bedding and some nice extras (movies, spices, toilet paper, bath towels). Keith Ward, the owner, was fast to respond to my inquiry and confirm my stay. Also, really nice about answering my questions. We enjoyed the nature walk to the coast at a park across the highway off of Main Street. Home is in a great location - walking distance from downtown Daphne, right off the main highway, near restaurants and shopping. Short drives to Spanish Fort and Fairhope.
