Hi, Thank you for your review and feedback! Unfortunately, everyone's preference for mattresses is different and we're sorry you didn't find it comfortable. We have many pictures of the pool with the chairs around it on our listing so that everyone can get the feel of the size. We are happy that you all had a good stay and appreciate you renting with us! Great location to the beach, restaurants, shops, etc. We loved how we could walk and/or bike to many places. Enjoyed the pool after a long hot morning at the beach. LOVED the seclusion of the front porch. Even though you are on a major road, the plants block so much of that out and you feel alone. We took advantage of the dining table on the front lawn and ate outside one night.

We absolutely loved our stay at Barefoot Dreams. This was genuinely the perfect place on the island and we plan to book this exact spot in the future as long as it’s still available. Very clean and spacious, offering everything you need for an excellent beach day just a block away or lounge by the beautiful private pool. Plenty of towels and bathroom space to accommodate a family or in our case, just the two of us. We ended up renting some items from Beach Bums Rentals - a golf cart and the nice umbrella are worth it! They had a smaller cooler in the closet, but we opted for the larger rental one. Anna Maria Life was a fantastic rental partner and were very responsive to our questions through VRBO chat and phone and even sent maintenance to assist us same-day when we needed it. This was truly our home away from home for the week and we are so thankful for the wonderful accommodations.

Great house and location

The house was perfect for our family of four. It was very clean and seems to have been updated recently which was very nice. The front and back yards with the artificial turn was fantastic and much cleaner to have our dog outside with us. The pool, while small, was great for cooling off and relaxing. Finally, the location was great and central to many island attractions. We would definitely stay here again.

Impressed with the cleanliness which is very important to me. Even the front and back yards were immaculate! Location is great and privacy superb especially for a corner lot. Wonderful!

Property was pristinely clean. We enjoyed the pool. Bed comfortable and enough room for a family of 6 to have enough space. Quick walk to beach. One minor incident when the dryer stopped working, but the office had it fixed in less than 24 hours and were very helpful. This was our favorite vacation yet! Will book again.

Barefoot Dreams

Barefoot Dreams is a lovely place to stay location is the best, very close to a wonderful Holmes beach easy to walk or drop off your stuff in your car. The only reason I would not give a 5 star rating primary bedroom mattress needs to be updated not comfortable and shower needs to have more of a closure so floor does not get so wet.

Perfect beach bungalow for small family

Everything was as stated for our rental. It was the perfect size and space for my wife and two kids, age 11 & 7. Location being a block from beach access was great. An easy walk back and forth with beach gear on a cart. The small pool was a homerun for our two kids. It's small but deep enough that the kids enjoyed daily. It was perfect for morning and evening entertainment for the kids. The location is pretty quiet and the north end shops and restaurants are a short 3 min golf cart/drive. Same for shopping on the southern end of AMI. We couldn't have been happier with our stay and would love to come again.

First and last VRBO experience

We were scheduled to arrive week after Ian. I called before Ian asking for guidance as I had vehicle and a hotel reserved as well for this trip. Agency said they would communicate with me throughout week. Day before we headed out I had not heard from anyone so I left message at emergency phone number explaining I needed to know what to do….no response. Next morning I received check-in info so I thought surely this is agencies response to my inquiry, so we left from SC. After traveling all day, and already in FL, hours before checking in I received a phone call stating we could not be accommodated and could be rescheduled for following year. I couldn’t believe it! No communication as promised until too late. I requested a full refund. Took a chance and called another agency on island and they had an available house, same price but much bigger. Won’t go thru VRBO again, never know who stands behind it

Pleasant Stay

Overall, our stay at this location was fine. There was some confusion concerning the property being a duplex vs a single family home. We don't recall the Vrbo listing saying the property was a duplex, which it was. In the end, that turned out to not be a big deal. We actually parked in the wrong driveway when we arrived, and worked out the confusion with the other renter. Otherwise, there were some minor issues with the rental home including: Only one key was originally provided, and it only opened the front door, not the back. A few lights were burned out, the toilets did not properly flus (had to hold the handle down). I temporarily fixed one toilet, since it would not fill with water. Most of the electrical outlets in the living room and bedrooms were outdated, and not able to accommodate 3 pronged plugs. Given the house was nearly concealed by abundant vegetation/plants, there were persistent spiders and large webs to navigate in front of the home. Finally, there was a very strong smell of rotting trash coming from somewhere in the backyard that made it unbearable to sit on the back patio. We think the smell was coming from another rental property, so it was out of our control. With that said, there were several positives, including: the location was great, both a short walk to the beach and close to Anna Maria Island Trolley stops, the AC and hot water worked well, and it was a big bonus to have a washer/drier at the house. Note: the free trolley on the island was a great service, and was how we did most of our traveling during the week! Also, I believe I called the management company 2 or 3 times within the first few days concerning the above issues (except for the toilets), and each time the response was quick and they solved the issue. Overall, I would recommend this location.. Comments not directly related to the property/owner: I was not pleased with the amount of added fees that were tacked onto the property rental price during the booking process. The property rental fee alone seemed reasonable, but the added fees (cleaning, pet, vrbo fee, taxes, etc.) added about 40-45% to the base price! The bill itemization was a bit misleading and even hard to follow, and seemed that I paid more than was originally advertised.

Great location, convenient to shops and restaurants with golf cart but still quiet. Unit was clean but had a little bit of a rundown feel (broken/missing plug covers, rusted refrigerator, broken floor tiles, chipped paint). Anticipated a more usable yard. No grass, artificial turf only so if you have a pet they are not allowed to use the backyard. You have to walk the dog down the street. Grill and table and chairs is not back with the pool but out front instead. Pool is nice but more of an oversized hot tub. Second day they came and cleaned it and said to wait 30 minutes before using. We went to the beach for about 3 hours before returning to the pool. My friends bathing suit completely bleached out as did my husband’s swimming trunks. Not sure what happened. Overall enjoyable and a beautiful community. With a few minor tweaks this place could be a 5 star.

Hi, Thank you for your review and feedback. I will mention the items that you mentioned and we will do a thorough walk through of the unit. Our pool service companies are very good at letting our guests know or contact us to notify our guests when they treat the pool. It is usually 30 minutes to two hours that they ask that nobody uses the pool, depending on what they needed to adjust to keep the pool in tip top shape. I'm not sure what happened with the swimsuit if it was longer than what they mentioned to you and we apologize for that. We appreciate you staying with us and hope to hear from you on your next visit to the island!
