Despite being there during humberto and imelda and not getting to enjoy sitting on the deck as much as usual because of the winds we love being there. Our pup loves being there as well. We had a special vacation as a family including our 13 year old puppy! It was short drive to the many fabulous restaurants and the location was superb with the beach and ocean at our disposal. We read the book with the detailed history of the home and we felt blessed to spend our time at this wonderful place.

The property description was spot on - amenities were as advertised and the location is perfect right on the beach. The house is clean and well-maintained, and dog-friendly (a plus for us!) We appreciated the gates on the deck to keep our pup (or a small child) contained. We spent a ton of time on the back deck and loved the tall chairs, picnic table and giant deck umbrella. Watched a beautiful sunset or two from the front deck chairs too! We have rented through Carolina Shores years with this property and others, and every time our experience is great. Would totally recommend this property and rental company,and have pre-reserved for 2026! Thank you for providing such a great experience!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Beach Barn's best feature is the oceanfront location. The large deck is a definite plus. Unfortunately, despite paying $225 for an early check in, the house was not clean. There were visible dog hairs on the window seats and one set of sheets (already on the bed) and dust bunnies in the main living area. The one AC unit works well but you have to freeze in the living room to keep the bedrooms cool. Future renters should note that there is NO storage (drawers or closets or hangers) in the one bedroom and only hooks (and dog hair covered window seat) in the other bedroom. There were only two of us staying, but if you had couples in each room, there is no where to store luggage let alone unpack. Not a dealbreaker, but good to know. There is a public beach access right next to the house, which was a surprise. This was not disruptive for us but would be good to know ahead of time. The kitchen supplies were just ok. We did not do any major cooking, but were glad for the one cutting board. None of the knives were great for slicing tomatoes, let alone cantaloupe and watermelon. Again, the beachfront location cannot be beat, and the house was just fine for two people and two small dogs. As for Carolina Shores--it just depended on who you got on the phone. Some were very helpful, others did not seem interested in answering questions.
