Great House

This property isn’t only located in a great neighborhood, but it’s also impeccably ran. The house was perfectly clean, which is something that I’ve found tough to find with other rentals. This house I ran very well. The house manager is always available and is happy to help with any questions or requests. He booked us two drivers who were professional and had great SUVs. He was very hands on and kind. The cleaner is the sweetest woman. The host Nicolas was also great. Always very responsive before and during our stay. When I first arrived I was a little nervous that the house wouldn’t be safe enough for my three year old but I realized most properties in Mexico don’t follow the same safety standards as in the US. This house turned out to be amazing for my family. We all loved it and felt safe in every way. They have a full time guard who sits by the gate 24/7. He and his partner alternate. Overall great experience!! We would stay here again for sure.

I travel globally year-round and am fortunate enough to stay in the best homes and hotels and I have to say, without question, that this is the single finest experience I've had. Oaxaca itself is a very special, magical city, and if you combine that with this property, you will likely have the best vacation of your life. The house and grounds are expansive and rather astonishing. The location could not be any better. The house is a fortress and comes with a full-time, 24-hour a day security guard, butler and housekeeper/chef, all of whom are the best at what they do. In addition, the host Nicolas is fantastic. I got sick during my stay and needed top extend the stay by two days and not only did they accommodate my request, they tended to my every need and brought in a medical team to take care of me as I recovered. "Yo no tengo palabras" about how magnificent this experience was for me. Highest possible recommendation *****

Perfect stay in Oaxaca

Everything about our stay was perfect. The house is beautiful. Well furnished and the artwork is incredible. The owner clearly has an affinity for cars, as do we. The pool is wonderful. We spent a couple of days just hanging out at the house and using the pool. Minerva and Jose Luis couldn't have been any more accommodating. We loved every breakfast they made for us. Nicolas, the host, was incredible as well. He arranged transportation to and from the airport and was always available with advice. We never met him, but he was always available by email. We always felt super safe, as there is a guard at the gate 24/7. Pretty much everything in Oaxaca City is walkable from the house. Tons of fabulous restaurants. And cabs are available through the Didi app. Google Translate became our best friend - it made it possible to communicate with everyone. This is absolutely the best place to stay in Oaxaca!

Breathtaking

Our stay in Oaxaca was magical! The house is stunningly beautiful. This was a real splurge for us but it was well worth it. The house was well located -- a close walk to the center of town but on a quiet side street. Nicolas was enormously helpful and we felt bubble wrapped by a friendly, caring staff. The front gate guard made us feel secure, Luis, the house manager was lovely, attentive and responsive to our every need. He really went above and beyond!. An all day tour that we had arranged was cancelled at the last minute and within ten minutes he had found a replacement for us. Minerva did a great job of cleaning without ever being in the way (our laundry magically appeared washed and folded at the end of the day). Sylvia cooked delicious meals and even gave me a cooking class!. I would love to return again some day and would highly recommend this beautiful, gracious home to others.

Sublime Oaxaca Experience

WOW! My family and I have rented a number of nice vacation homes over the years and this incredible property ranks at the top. The photos of the house are beautiful but the reality is even better. Incredibly high quality construction, design & art coupled with close proximity to the city's heart, Santo Domingo Church, make this the perfect house to enjoy your vacation in Oaxaca. However, the icing on the cake is the house's staff which are exceptional in every way. Finally, I want to give a shout out to the host, Nicolas, who was super responsive and full of good advice on all matters relating to our stay in Oaxaca. Truly, an exceptional five star experience!

Wonderful Home in Heart of Oaxaca

Our stay was wonderful! This is house is in a perfect location to explore all that Oaxaca city has to offer. You can walk to all of the different neighborhoods. The house is huge and is appointed with Mexican art . All of the beds are so comfy and the staff cleans the linens and your clothes daily! Kind and friendly staff were there to make your stay amazing and luxurious ! Nicolas was so responsive with every communication! The pool was great reprieve in the hot summer. My family of 5 including 3 young children made amazing memories here ! Thank you Nicolas!

The staff was great. They did an em-enable job. The furnishings were done nicely, however the the house seemed only to have had the required maintenance. Many of the bathroom fixtures were corroded (dated), and the tiles were in disrepair. Externally, there were visible rust areas as well as bricks falling of the house. The biggest issue we had was the noise. 2 of the three nights there most of us did not sleep well due to excessive noise caused by a neiboring club of some sort. The design of the property with it being walled in created an echo chamber for the noise that was at times, unbearable.

Fabulous staff and the casa .. so caring and responsive. I wish all rentals had this option. and driver Raymundo. You don't need a rental car as Raymundo was able to navigate the surrounding areas to relax and enjoy the area and created a delightful itinerary.

The house is very charming (in a modern style) and was a wonderful place for our extended family to stay during our holiday in Oaxaca. Most beautiful home in Oaxaca

BEYOND ALL EXPECTATIONS! The house is incredible - the photos don't do it justice one bit! Incredible location. Staff - the sweetest most welcoming people. Our family and friends could have not been any happier, we rented the house for two weeks and had a beautiful time. Oaxaca Paradise

This was a fabulous location and stunning home located a good walk from the center. It was easy, safe and enjoyable to walk to the centro each day. The kids appreciated a pool for a midday swim. Each morning we were treated to a delicious mexican breakfast set on a meticulously decorated table. No detail was forgotten. The staff was perfect and very accommodating. The rooms and beds were very comfortable. Art lovers will appreciate the contemporary art lovingly placed. We hope we can stay here the next time we are in Oaxaca.

A Beautiful Home in a Perfect Location

Everything about this property exceeded my expectations. The home is absolutely beautiful with fantastic art and a very helpful and welcoming staff. The owner was very helpful in recommending restaurants and helping with transportation. The home is walking distance to almost all restaurants, markets and stores. The photos do not even come close to doing this place justice. This is a beautiful house, located as centrally as you could possibly want, with a kind and attentive staff. You really have to see it to believe the architectural details and comfort level. I don’t see how I could possibly return to Oaxaca without staying here again.

Fabulous gem

This property is stunning. The pictures don’t do justice. Its a very tastefully designed house with spacious bedrooms and vast green open areas inside a 12 foot fence. It’s an oasis bang in the middle of the city. The staff treat you like family. Cooking dinner with Sylvia (the chef) was fun.

A beautiful home and wonderful staff.

We were greeted at the home by the butler who showed us through the beautiful accommodations. Nicolas had made dinner reservations at some of his favorite places. Casa Oaxaca’s rooftop the first night was wonderful with great food and atmosphere. Every morning breakfast was served at the table where each day the setting was a surprise setting with different flowers and decorations. After returning home of course we missed the amazing temperatures but we missed Luis and the staff the most!

A lovely property in a great location.

This lovely house has a heated swimming pool and lots of space. It would suit a family as the master bedroom is very spacious and the next two bedrooms have twin beds, all on the second floor. The fourth bedroom has a king bed but is smaller than the master bedroom and is on the main floor. The staff of three make breakfast and stay until about 5 pm. The house manager will make plans, order taxis etc. He speaks a little English but it would help to have some Spanish. The location is in Centro but in a quiet location. The main Centro sights and restaurants are easily walkable. There is parking at the house and a watchman always at the gate night and day. Security is excellent. I would highly recommend this house.

Stunning property

I'm not sure photos do the place justice. To enter, you pass through a nondescript gateway from a quiet street (it's blocked on one side). At this point, you're in a shared courtyard (?) (passageway?), that serves as the access to the house. It's about 30 feet wide and you walk perhaps 50 feet to the house. Its garden (one one side) and pool (on the other) are both completely private. To give you a sense, when we asked for the keys, we were just told they weren't really needed, since the guard who controls the gateway simply lets you in/out. It's extremely private; someone who visited from nearby said she had no idea the whole structure even existed. The house is large. My dimension for it: the wifi signal doesn't really stretch the length of it. It's in essence a long, thing rectangle (or capitol letter I), with bedrooms facing the pool in the middle, then at the end, a master bedroom on one side, and a media room on the center. In addition to the pool, it has a garden, which could easily be used for yoga classes. Our favorite unexpected feature was the wonderful art. It's sort of hard to imagine not liking the house. Ok, if you want some traditional place with wood beams, well, the photos make it clear this is not it, and the kitchen is relatively modest for the house, so if you're a gourmet chef (and don't want the staff to cook), then this isn't the place. Otherwise, it is. The staff is extremely solicitous. The house is about a 6 or 7 minute walk from the house into the town's center, but you're "in town" -- just on the quieter outskirt. It's off a lovely street. Anyway, obviously, thumbs up.

Palatial and delightful

This property is outrageously lovely! It made for a great homebase in Oaxaca, we loved the neighborhood, just north of the city center. The house is even more grand and elegant than the pictures — we were blown away when we first arrived, going up the driveway makes for a dramatic entrance. The property is essentially a compound, with ample outdoor space front and back. The house is huge, and impeccably designed — great art especially, with a mix of contemporary pieces with local artisan's work. Oliver is very kind (we wish our Spanish was better) and the breakfasts were very very good, and different each day. Renting this house made our stay in Oaxaca feel like a grand splurge, a real holiday. Thanks so much!

You Couldn't Find a Better Place to Stay in All of Mexico!

How do I begin to describe this extraordinary home? It surpassed all of our expectations. As our driver, Manuel, artfully maneuvered his Suburban down a narrow side street, a guard peeled back a rusted gate and exposed the long walkway leading to what would be our residence for the next 6 days. We were greeted at the door by Oliver, a charming young man with a bright smile who was the butler. He introduced us to Minerva, one of our two cooks. Sylvia came the following morning. The two-story home itself is enormous. We were just two couples, but the four-bedroom house easily accommodates eight. Light pours in from the many windows. In addition to the expansive seating area, there is a tv room, a library, a pool, an outdoor seating area where the guys drank mescal and smoked cigars at night. Needless to say, we felt like royalty! Minerva and Sylvia cooked sumptuous breakfasts each morning. And don't miss the chance to sample one of Sylvia's dinners! Earlier in the day, she showed us photographs of the different dishes she could make and we were able to choose exactly what we wanted. Then, we gave Oliver money to shop in the market. When we came home from sightseeing, the table had been set with candles and flowers and the meal was one of the best we had on our entire trip! One of the most special features of this house is the art collection. There are lots of modern art and local pieces. There is an especially lovely collection of Oaxacan animalitos everywhere. The owner's son was wonderful in making all the arrangements in getting us from the airport to the home and he helped us arrange day trips to visit the various craft villages. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. It's worth every penny to stay here.

Every corner of the house has something special with a story behind it. The house is truly unique and, within the setting of historic Oaxaca, I must say it is one of the most fascinating and special spots you will ever find. I can guarantee that.
