Just to clarify, we are the owners, not property managers, and we have owned vacation properties for over 2 decades and we take guest feedback seriously and do our best to ensure that a guests stay is as enjoyable as possible. We are glad that you enjoyed the location and all that is has to offer and saddened if you felt misled or if our communication was unclear. We have done a great deal of work to make improvements to the property since taking ownership of it and since you saw pictures from your booking in December, and we apologize that patching where old window treatments had been removed still needs to be addressed. No touch up paint was left behind from the prior owners, we are working on that. We were not aware of any windows that were not operating, but we will look into that. When you informed us of your desire for a high school graduation party for 25-30 people, 5 months after your booking and 3 weeks before arrival, we pointed you to our additional fees for events under 20 people in our listing, which is due to additional liability insurance as well as additional cleaning and wear and tear that hosting an event can incur. In doing more research we learned that having a party is also against VRBO policy, which is why we responded the way we did. In regards to the pool, as we mentioned early in your stay, and was also provided in the manual with the QR code in the house, weather is difficult to predict and the heater simply cannot keep up when the temperature drops to the low 50s and high 40s overnight as it did during your stay. We did aim for Memorial Day weekend but it's not always possible. Due to this challenge, we charge off season rates in early June for just that reason. The water level did drop during your stay, however the pool was always safe to swim in during your stay as we monitor chemicals remotely, and the temperature was up around 70 degrees many days during your stay without a heater. We tried very hard to troubleshoot this leak with as little disruption as possible, but we apologize that this occurred during your stay. We had hoped that hosting such a large group like yours for our highly discounted rate of under $50/per person per night, you would have been able to overlook a few of the challenges presented during your spring vacation in Maine.
